Favorite fall drink?

I do love a good cup of masala chai (none of that artificial, sugary nonsense they serve at so many chain cafes, please) but I drink that all year round, so I don't think it would qualify as an autumn-exclusive in my case. Maybe a hot mug of apple cider? Especially if there's plenty of cinnamon in it. Pumpkin is a flavor I enjoy in a lot of my autumnal baking, but I've found that many drinks advertised as such unfortunately don't contain much, if any, of it.

what’s your favorite thing about halloween?

Hmmm, perhaps all the costumes! I enjoy seeing what everyone dresses up as each year—especially those who make their own outfits. Carving pumpkins is a close second, though.

what do you see in jack?

What do I see in Jack? I suppose I see a great deal in him. I see someone whose confidence can rarely be shaken (perhaps to his own detriment at times). Someone who can captivate a room with just a few words and convince them of any of his strange, wonderful ideas. He's the kind of person to find a wilted flower and envision a dozen ways it can keep growing, when so many others would leave it to wither. There are more things I admire about him than I have the time to list—his mind, confidence, passion, and unwavering loyalty, to name a few.

But above all, I see in him a dear friend who offered me a hand just when I had begun to believe I'd always be alone.

What's your secret to that luscious, silky hair?

Thank you, though I'm afraid the 'secret' may just be genetics from my mother. I apply oils like coconut or castor and rarely use any heat for styling, but apart from that I don't have any wisdom to impart. Routine trims and having never dyed it might also help.

Do you ever think about your father?

Of course I do. Keeping someone out of your life is much easier than banishing them from your mind. I think of him whenever I see my scars or feel the prick of a needle. The bitter smell of chemicals and the metallic tang of steel always remind me him, as if he's waiting just around the corner. There are times I'll awake in the dead of night—when it's so dark I cannot see and so quiet all I can hear is my own breath—and suddenly I'm back in my childhood bedroom. Back in his cage.

If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you choose to be

I've always thought that Edinburgh or Amsterdam would be lovely places to visit. I'm really rather content where I am right now, though.

Shona was quite the character! Saaliha admired the other girl's boldness, a trait she lacked herself, even if the cheeky comments and outright prying were often aimed to shock some secret out of her. A tidbit of information she could report back to Oz with and twist into a way to slight Jack. Still, she was an entertaining personality to be around regardless of her choice to consort with the enemy. If she and Shona hadn't been pitted against each other in the boys' little war, perhaps they could have been friends. Or, based on the reaction she got to the contents of her bag, maybe Saal would still be too much of a bore for someone as electric as Shona.

"Oh dear, I must have dropped all my snake venom along the way," Saaliha peered into her bag with a frown. "What a shame." Her humor wasn't always well-received, as not everyone could tell when she was actually joking or if her words were sincere.

Whether or not she picked up on Shona's innuendo was truly anyone's guess. She was usually rather perceptive, but when it came to matters like what else could be done with ties beyond wearing them... well, her knowledge was admittedly lacking. "Oh certainly, he's rather proud of his collection! Though you wouldn't know it, what with the way he leaves them strewn about all over the place," Saal chuckled. Her cheeks tinged the softest shade of pink over Shona's following comment — what a wild imagination! "I'm afraid their mornings don't quite live up to your fantasy. We're all rather fond of our pajamas."

Shona tutted with distain, her plans for some harmless havoc were spoiled again by Saaliha's appeasing attitude. God when did everyone around here get so damn boring? Not a single secret to sniff out and pry from some pathetic little crybaby, but no Saaliha was much more than that. Shona had almost let Saal slip under her radar, thinking that the other girl was far too whimsical and soft to be any kind of threat. However as she began to keep taps on the trio of perfection Shona came to realize there was more to Saaliha Finkelstein than meets the eye. "Lame. Don't you have anything fun in there? Oooh like a vile of snake venom or a folder with government secrets?!"

"And are you familiar with his ties?" Shona asked, a curious eyebrow raising as she grinned deviously at Saaliha. Yes, she was a taken woman, and yes Jack was public enemy number one but that didn't stop Shona from being the teeniest bit curious about what shengagians went on in their home. "You can be honest with me Saal. Girl-to-girl, your secrets are safe mostly safe with me-- depending on what they are." She explained, with a playful jab of her elbow. "I'm just picturing two insanely hot guys, shirtless in the kitchen every morning. Mmm talk about double helpings."

It wasn't that Saaliha disliked Luis exactly, but he certainly didn't rank high on the list of people she enjoyed having around. Fortunately, their interactions were typically far and few between. He'd poke and prod at her patience until eventually giving up when she didn't give him the reaction he wanted. Just once had she ever snapped at his pestering. She'd immediately regretted it, as it only confirmed that his efforts could yield success on occasion.

Saaliha spotted him through a window lingering outside the pharmacy toward the end of her shift, and she didn't need to hear what he was saying to know he was very annoyed with whoever was on the other end of his call. By the time she made it outside, however, he'd already covered up any irritation with his usual veil of mischief. "Surprised to find me where I work?" Sally nearly laughed, though she had no doubt he'd already known she worked there. Hopefully that wasn't why he'd been standing outside. Her eyes flicked down to his phone, "It looked like someone had you in stitches, are you here to pick up something for stress?"

"I don't really see how that's my problem, pandejo. Either you get the job done or someone's going to have to clean up your mess and no one's gonna be happy about that..." Luis paused, focused primarily on the idiot currently fucking things up on the other end of the phone, those his eyes caught movement coming in his direction, better to wrap this up quickly. "...yeah, that's what I thought." Hanging up, his face was masked by his usual smug smirk by the time Sally reached him. "Well, well, well if it isn't my favorite...Sally. Fancy meeting you here."

Shock thinks Sally’s alright because Sally was quite the mischievous rebel herself—making potions, sneaking out at night. Cool kid stuff.
