Height: 5,5 meters
The lion was erected by the Thebans after the battle of the same name to commemorate their fallen. Under the monument, archaeologists unearthed a mass grave of 254 people, now identified as members of the elite military unit known as “The Sacred Band of Thebes.

Yanagi Yukinori, Wandering position
In this work Yukinori follows around an art with a red pen or pencil, tracing the path in which the ant takes.
This work extends the question of whether using animals may be considered a form of representing nature, made me think of the way humans draw, technically representing the human condition which, when it comes down to it is often times animalistic and reflects these innate qualities of humans as animals (a bit counterintuitive as ‘human condition’ often relates to humans being different than animals but in actuality and through art are basic emotive qualities that are seen as just human are shared across various mammalian species).
