Chapter 5

We kept kissing. At first it was a generally gentle kiss, showing how much he loved me.But then he deepened the kiss,and I felt my whole body melt. From standing up, we somehow ended up on my bed, without breaking the kiss.

I lifted his hoodie only to see a dragon tattoo on his waist, and a sleeve tattoo on his right hand with many figures on it. He also had Nym.Os on his chest but also the initials M.J. I didn't give much attention to that at the time.

He put his hands inside my blouse and tightened his grip so we could come closer. I felt like all of our emotions were all over the place and it felt so right. But there was one thing we totally forgot...

Lilly- Um...when you're done you may come down so we could discuss... maybe?

We both turned around only to see Lilly blushing and covering her face. We looked at each other and laughed.

Jake- We are coming Lil.

Lilly closed the door and honestly I hope she won't say anything to the others cause then I won't be able to live in embarrassment. Jake stood up and went to his bag to take a T-shirt. He dressed up and gave me his hand to help me stand up.

Jake- Are you ok? He said with a smirk on his face, totally aware of what he had accomplished.

Mari- Um...I feel like I can't stand...my legs feel like they became pudding. YOU TURNED ME INTO A HUMAN PUDDING. (reference to Blue sapphire).

He just laughed at my comment and hugged me again.

Jake-Let's go my little pudding,he chuckled.

Oh my God...he was so cute!!!

We went down to the dining room and the first thing I saw was everyone sitting on the table looking at us smirking. Damn it Lilly!

Thomas- Sooo...um... welcome back?

Chloe- Yes welcome back love birds!

Mari- Unecessary comment Cleo, I chuckled and took my seat beside Jessy. Jake sat next to Lilly. And that's where the hard part comes.

Lilly-So, who is going to start?

Mari- I will and I'll let Jake take over. Is that ok?

Jake- Yeah sure, he said wanting to sound calm and collected,but I knew he was relieved,as much as Lilly was, because I took the hardest part off their shoulders.

Mari- So, you know that the first time we met was when you added me to the group. I assume that Hannah somehow knew my father,as a detective, maybe they even had talked in the past. But when my father died a few months ago, I took the number,as I wanted to work with his past clients and it would be such a hustle to change the number and contact everyone from the start.

Thomas- So you think that Hannah was a client of you father?

Mari- Yes. It's a possibility at least. I came to this assumption not long ago. I was trying to clean my father's desk and saw a list o numbers, and one was very familiar. It turned out it was Hannah's.

Jake-You didn't mention that...

Mari-You had to hide at that time and I forgot... okay so. Jake contacted me not long after our first chat, trying to figure out who I was and how I was connected to Hannah. But the truth is I wasn't. And that's why it was so hard for me to keep up with so many things. While still investigating with Jake, we found Hannah's call list the day she disappeared. We all know who she phoned and that Jake was also on the list but he erased it for known reasons.

Lilly-Thank you Mari. I'll take over. So guys remember the video I had posted right?

Jessy- Who doesn't...

Lilly- Yes, I still regret my decision. But Jake had his ways to convince me. After Jake's disappearance, he left a riddle for me and Mari to solve. He knew how much she loved puzzles and riddles so he left it with me knowing that I had to ask her for help. The whole game brought us closer and we ended up becoming friends.

Dan-Way to go Hacker Man. To chicks. Cool

Jessy just glared at him and he stopped.

Lilly- That's not exactly it Dan. When we solved the riddle,Jake left a message not so much for me, but for Mari. He told her the truth that I already knew and was so shocked. Too hard to believe. But it made sense.

Jake- So I guess it's my turn.

Mari- If you want I could..

Jake- No this is my fight.

At this point Lilly stood up, came to me and whispered "He needs you more than me right now" and let me go sit beside him.

Jake seemed like he felt relieved and he took my hand on his. Everyone saw that but no one dared to say anything,not even Dan, as the atmosphere was too heavy.

Jake- My mother was killed when I was still a kid. Her name was Jennifer, I was shocked and confused at this point but he tightened his grip so I wouldn't ask. Then my grandmother took me in and at some point she told me who my father was. A few years later I decided I would investigate and my investigation led me to Hannah. We started messaging eachother, but because Hannah didn't know the truth, at some point she fell in love with me, her internet friend. I had to distance myself from her then. But the day she disappeared she contacted me, from an old number she had. I had kept the number and saw the sudden actions on the number so I had to see what happened. I called Hannah and she turned on the camera. She said she felt like someone is following her. i could not see anything though. And then...then they kidnapped her.

Everyone seemed like they had stopped breathing. At this point Jake must have felt so much pressure that my hand was hurting. He saw that I flinched and he let go off my hand immediately. But I know he felt bad so I took his hand on mine this time showing him that I'm not going anywhere. Jake took a deep breath.

Jake- Um... I know this is not such a delicate way to say...but. Um... Hannah and Lilly are my half sisters. Their father is my Father. And Jenifer... Jennifer Hanson is my mother, and also was killed by our Father.

We all went silent. We were shocked. Jake hadn't told me about this. He was fighting alone. JH. Jennifer Hanson. His mother...I stood up and hugged him.

Mari- You had to tell me. I don't want you to suffer alone. He just nodded.

Thomas- Excuse my rudeness...I know it's not the time but you said that Hannah fell in love with you. When was that exactly?

Jake- That was about 7 year ago. And the reason I disappeared from her life is because we were siblings. It's sick.

Thomas- Thank you,Jake.

Cleo- So Lilly is your sisters and that's why you two hugged earlier.

Jessy- What about Mari? What is she to you Jake.

We immediately looked at eachother and then at Jessy. We weren't sure what we should say. They all chuckled at our reaction.

Dan- Come on guys what are you?

Jake- Um...Mari is...she is my girlfriend. If she doesn't have a problem of course..., He blushed and was waiting for my answer.

Mari- Um... apparently we are a couple.

Lilly- That's so great guys!!! Mari is officially my sister!

Cleo- We should celebrate, for more than one reasons. I'll go and bake a cake!!!

Jessy- I'll help.

I was blessed. For a moment we all forgot about TMWAF and our problems and just felt happy.

Chapter 4

I turned around and looked at Dan not sure how to respond to his comment. The first thing that waited him though was a very hard slap on the shoulder from Jessy.

Jessy- You really have no delicacy dummy!

Dan-I...What do you mean babe, I am confused and I want to know what is happening.

Before I could say anything, Jake took his hands from my waist, which made me feel a bit lonely to be honest, and went in front of the group.

Jake- Um...this is awkward. Hello everyone... I'm Jake.

All of them, except for Lilly looked like they saw a ghost or something. To make things even more strange for the others Lilly went and hugged her brother tightly.

Lilly- I can't believe I am hugging you right now! You are here Jake!

Lilly started crying. I saw Jake was taken aback by her sudden act but he couldn't resist such a warm hug from his little sister that he so much wanted to meet. I smiled warmly at the sight. I was so tempted to go there and hug them both.

I know how much Jake wanted to meet his sister, how much he longed for this meeting, how nervous he was whenever he thought how would they react when they see him. I was lost in thought, but Dan (it's always Dan) made me crash back to reality with a so not necessary comment...

Dan-I thought hacker man was Mari's Romeo, what is all this?

I looked at him like I wasn't sure if I heard what he said correctly, and by the reaction of Lilly and Jake they were as shocked as me. Great now we will have to tell them everything. I sighed and all of the turned their focus on me.

Mari- I think we should go inside. Set your things to the rooms and then we talk.

Jessy- That's for the best, thank you Mari. She smiled and I guided them in my house.

So how should I explain this. I'm the daughter of a very famous detective, and he was the best one on his job, I have to say. Before he died in a mission, he managed to leave me enough money and this house so I wouldn't have to work and follow his steps. But...well, I became a detective myself hehe.

Everyone was shocked with how big the house was, which made me feel a bit embarrassed. So I gave my room to Jessy,Cleo and Lilly. The bed was king size and I wasn't sleeping there anyway most of the time. I had another room right beside mine which had two beds for Dan and Thomas. I would sleep in the attic just like always. It was so calming there and the moonlight always hit the window which made me relax.

Mari- so now that everyone knows where they are staying, I'll show Jake his room too

Jake- I...

Mari- I know you'll say it's dangerous to stay here but trust me I have the best room for you.

When everyone left for their rooms I guided Jake to the attic. There, I had a little secret room that was located behind the library on the wall. Whoever wanted to go inside had to put a code but one wrong number and the system would shut down and only I knew how to restart it. That was my dads secret room.

Jake- How the heck do you have something like that in your house. Not only that, but this encrypted algorithm,the system itself is so rare to find! His eyes sparkled like a child who just was given a toy.

Mari- well...my dad was a detective and a really good hacker, though he didn't know I was aware of his secret. I managed to follow his steps, but of course I'm not as good of a programmer/hacker etc. like he was or like you are Jake.

Saying his name and watching him turn to me smiling, made my heart skip a beat.

Jake- this is insane Mari. Insane! Everything in here. And the best part is that you are right next to me and I can see you, touch you, hug you! When he understood what he said, he covered his mouth and put back his hoodie to not be seen blushing. But I saw that. And I was blushing hard too. I didn't say anything. Instead, I went closer to him and hugged him from behind.

Mari- I thought you would be angry at me. I broke our promise but you kept yours. And i thought I lost you. I said really mean stuff to you and you didn't deserve it. I'm really sorry,ok?

He took my arms, pushed them on the side and turned around to hug me from my waist. I then placed gently my hands on his chest. I could feel his heart beating fast which made mine flatter too. He didn't speak for a moment, he just took everything he could from the hug. I did the same.

Jake- You know, I am not able to hate you, or be mad at you. When you said you were going to the house, I could feel like dying that moment. I was so shocked I'd lose you that I didn't care if anything happened to me. I just wanted you to be safe.

I felt him tightening the hug.

Mari- I'm sorry that my recklessness made you feel like that Jake. But I'm here. With you, I paused for a moment.

Maybe it's time I tell him.

Mari- Hey Jake...From the very beginning I felt like we are connected somehow. I didn't know how you looked, what your voice sounds like. I didn't know anything about you. But little by little I started noticing small things,like the smiley faces, how you opened the door to your world to me and only me. It made me feel alive again. I then started to notice that...that I...that I was falling in love with those little things. And at some point I fell in love with you Jake.

He froze. He broke the hug and was looking deep inside my eyes. He was trying to understand if all of this was the truth. But from the way he was looking at me I felt embarrassed and blushed.

Mari- Um...you know what forget the last part, my own words hurt me. We have to go to the others....

When I was about to leave, Jake pulled my arm, turned me around and before I could even react I felt his lips on mine. It was such a gentle and warm kiss. He kissed me and I felt like I was in heaven. He broke the kiss and looked again deep in my eyes.

Jake- You don't even know how many times I dreamt of this moment. You can't even imagine how much I was craving your touch, your lips. Your everything. I wanted you to be mine and mine only. And I still want. I know it's dangerous for both of us but I can't surpass this anymore. I love you so much Mari. From your photos in your cloud I could see such a gentle, genuine, loving smile but eyes that were hurting inside. These lonely green eyes kept me captivated. When I started talking to you I found fascinating your goofy behaviour, your way of showing others how important they are, how selfless you are. Before I knew it I was already in love with you. And I loved it. I loved every second of our meaningless chatting, the way you made me feel. I never knew I could love someone I haven't even met...

Mari- You aren't joking right. You are telling the truth right!!!

Jake- The absolute truth! Mari... I'm in love with you!

Mari- Me too Jake. I love you so much.

And with that he kissed me again without holding back anymore. I was in heaven.

Chapter 3 Expect the unexpected

After I hugged everyone (and when I say hugged I mean I suffocated everyone in my embrace) we all sat down and they started explaining what had happened.

Dan- So because I am the one with the gun I'll start. When Hannah's phone rang and we picked up, as you also heard, it was TMWAF. We all panicked when he said he knew where we were, but when the lights turned off and Jessy started screaming,I thought it was a good idea to try shooting on the ground so that they stopped panicking.

Jessy- Yeah like it's a great idea to shoot while everyone is panicking,Dan, they won't lose their shit more, said Jessy and she rolled her eyes.

Dan- Hey, what was I supposed to do, you all were screaming and shouting. At least I did something.

Lilly- Yeah Yeah whatever Dan. So I was so shocked that the lights went out and I heard shooting inside the room that I accidentally ended the call. When the lights turned back on, as it was just a black out for a few seconds, I was still shocked and I forgot to call you again and say that we were all right.

Cleo- We are sorry we made you worried about us Mari. That wasn't our intension. But we didn't think it was a good idea to keep our phones on, because as you know, we could be trucked by the freak so we turned them off immediately after.

Lilly- Only then I thought that we should have contacted you before doing that, but we couldn't risk it.

Thomas- We really are sorry. We made you worry and you came here. You are in greater danger than us and yet you came for us.

I was just staring at them. Was it the shock? The tension? I don't know but I could not speak. But then an idea popped up.

Mari- Hey. Would it be too much if I asked you all to come with me right now? You can stay in my house, I have space for all of you. If that's not a problem..

They all looked skeptical at first but then agreed.

Thomas- Yeah it would be a good idea. The further we are the safest we feel.

Jessy- I wish we didn't let everything behind...

Mari- You aren't. I'm gonna continue investing from my house. I have enough clues. And Jake...he will help, at that point I looked at Lilly and she gave me a bright smile.

Dan- What are we waiting for, let's leave now.

They didn't puck a lot, just their clothes and Thomas took Hannah's phone with him, turned off the gps and WiFi and gave it to me to turn it off. We went in our cars, me and Lilly on mine, Cleo and Dan on Cleo' s and Thomas and Jessy on Thomas'. Lilly was a good company, until she started talking about Jake.

Lilly- So... I'm gonna have my sister back. My brother with me. And another sister will come in the family, she smirked.

Mari- What do you mean, I said confused but I knew deep down where this was going.

Lilly- Well, aren't you and Jake a couple? When you finally get married you'll be my sister not just in name!

Mari- Lilly, we are not a couple and I don't know if that's even possible to happen...I...I had a fight with Jake. After the call I was devastated. I thought that you all died, at this point I tears started forming in my eyes. Jake called me immediately,he knew I was crying. He tried calming me down but I just threw my problems and my anger on him. But he was also hurting and I hurt him even more. I broke our promise to not come in Duskwood and...and...I thought he broke his promise first...but you were all fine...and...

Oh my I was sobbing. It's good that we were almost there because I wasn't in any condition to drive further.

Lilly- You know he won't hate you for that, right. He can understand you better than any of us and you can too. You have a weird but beautiful connection. Everyone can feel that. And as for Jake. He really cares about you, you know.

Mari- I know. I don't just care about your brother Lilly. I really do love him, saying it out loud really was embarrassing but that were my feelings. I may have never seen his face or heard his real voice. But I don't care. I love him with all my heart.

Lilly- I know. He does too, even if he won't admit....

Mari- Something isn't right.

Lilly- What?

Mari- I stopped the car immediately in front of my house and the others parked behind me. I rushed out and looked at the gate of my house being slightly open. I didn't leave the gate open when I left.

Thomas- what is going on?

Mari- someone is here.

Jessy-WHAT?!

Mari- Dan give me the gun.

Dan- Um. Are you sure? I mean do you even know how to use it??

I just looked at him. He didn't think twice and gave me the gun.

Mari- Stay behind me.

We started going from the gate to the front door. There was standing someone and I saw him desperately banging on the door and trying to break the code? He was wearing a black hoodie and grey sweatpants. I walked closer and pointed the gun at him. The others were shocked.

Mari- who are you and what do you want in my house? It sounds more like a plead than a threat.

The strange figure froze up. He turned around and what I saw made me freeze right there. In front of me was standing a man, a tall man with a mask on his face and deep blue ocean eyes. i could tell they were swollen. This man was crying. He didn't wait a bit and run towards me. He hugged me tight and I was taken aback by his smell. I hugged him back though.

?- I thought I lost you too. I thought you were going to die there. I thought you would leave me and then I just rushed... I didn't know what to do..., I felt tears on my shoulder. He was crying again.

The others were probably looking at us with open mouths and I swear I could hear Dan cursing confused. Bit I didn't care. I received the most loving hug I could ever receive. I was hugging the only person that could make every worry of mine go away.

Mari- It's okay Jake. I'm here safe and sound. Please don't cry..., I said and hugged him more tightly, using my other hand to stroke his hair, as I was hearing him sobbing like a little child. He buried his face in my shoulder and then whispered.

Jake- I wanted to do this for so long...

Mari- Me too...

Dan- Sorry for interrupting you two but what the heck is happening?

Chapter 2 No time to die

As I was near the hut my heart was beating uncontrollably fast. The agony of losing all of them was making me feel sick. Not to mention how many times I stopped the car to puke. Thoughts were coming like a storm in my head and I could not stop them.

"Jake betrayed me". "My friends are dead". "No they can't die on me". "Jake would never forgive me if something happened to me. Heck he would never forgive himself". "What do I do if I go there and see blood..." That thought alone was enough to make my stomach ache again. But at this point I did not have time to stop.

I finally was outside the hut. Nothing was heard. Not a single thing. The feeling that something went totally wrong wouldn't leave me one bit. I could not think straight though so I'm not sure if that was my gut or I was just too afraid to believe they are dead already. I went on the door and at some point I really just wanted to run away. But I couldn't. I knocked. One time. Two times. Three. I panicked. No one answered the door.

Oh my god are they even alive inside. I panicked more. I was ready to burst out crying until I heard a voice.

?-Whoever you are we have a gun and I know how to use it.

You stated dump founded at the door. That statement would never scare a child. Let alone TMWAF.

Mari-Dan was that you?

Dan-HOW TF DO YOU KNOW MY NAME?

Mari-Dan open the door it's me Mari...

Dan- Yeah right I know those tricks. Tell me something that Mari and only her would know.

Mari-You really wanna play that game with me?

Dan-Just tell me or get out if here!

Mari-When you had the accident you contacted me and started talking about Jessy and how you don't deserve her and how great she is and how....

Dan-I GET IT STOP. What are you even doing here Mari.

He opened the door and when I saw him alive, safe and sound with the gun on his hand and his eyes looking at me confused I just went and hugged him.

Mari-I am so relieved you are ok, I said and started crying again,but this time because I was relieved.

Dan-Woah there detective girl I'm happy to see you too. Come in.

I wiped my tears with my sleeve and and went inside meeting the worried and confused looks of everyone. With one voice they all said "what are you doing here Mari?". I stared back at them. One by one. Making sure they were all okay. Lilly,Jessy and Thomas were sitting on the table while Cloe was standing beside the table holding plates. When I was convinced that nothing had happened to them, I breathe out again.

Mari-I was so worried when the call ended. I thought he got you and killed you all. I couldn't stay away like I was supposed to.

Thomas-Hey there easy. Killing us isn't that easy. Besides. There is not time for us to die.

Chapter 1 The broken promises

It was so hard for me to hear TMWAF saying all those stuff to everyone. I knew he wanted to see me suffer, make me beg for mercy. But as I didn't listen to his previous warnings, now he is really going to harm my friends.

As the lights went off on the video call I could only hear screaming and suddenly...the gun. One shot. Two. Three. And then crying. The call ended. What happened. Who was screaming? Who shot the gun. I'm confused, terrified.

Someone is calling me. I could not see who it was through the tears streaming down my face. I just picked up hoping it was my friends. Someone from the group telling me they are safe and sound and it was just a misunderstanding. But no...

When I picked up I heard the familiar voice of Jake's voice changer thing.

Jake-Mari...are you ok...talk to me please.

Mari-You promised they will be safe. You...you promised Jake.

He did not answer. I was devastated.

Mari-You broke the promise Jake. You leave me no other choice. I'm going to Duskwood.

Jake-Are you insane! Are you saying that you just want to go and get killed like ev...

He stopped. But I knew what he wanted to say. He saw the video call. He was watching at the same time as me. The difference here is that he was watching for clues I'm sure, when I was trembling like a baby in fear.

Mari-You won't stop me Jake. You can't keep your promises so I won't keep mine. I'm not mad at you. Just... disappointed.

Jake-You can't do that Mari. You can't! I lost everything. I lost my life. My sister. My other sister is probably laying dead in that house as we talk. And you're saying you're gonna leave me too. I can't lose you too...

A part of me wanted to just give up everything again and keep my promise to Jake. Although the device he used was changing his voice, it could not change the trembling I heard as he talked. He lost too much. And although he never said anything I knew how important I was to him. Not just for the investigation. He was broken and I could feel it. But I could not back down. Not only for my selfish reasons, such as going to see if my friends are ok, if TMWAF got them or because I wanted to let that bastard know I was not afraid if him and I was ready to take him on face to face. I had one more reason. I wanted to go see if Lilly was alive. To show Jake that his little sister was ok and that we can continue searching for Hannah, and Richy, as we were getting closer.

Mari-Listen to me Jake. I don't know you. Yet I know you better than anyone. Sitting here and doing nothing isn't my thing. I know you can't come with me and I know that you are afraid. But I can't keep going on like this. I have to go. For me. For my friends. For your sisters...for you Jake.

He just sighed. No words. No nothing. Just a sigh.

Mari-If I made my point clear I'm leaving right now. I will turn off my phone but I'll Keep the GPS on in case you want to find where I am. Talk to you later.

I hung up. Not sure how, but I broke our promise. He broke his. I'm...I don't know how to feel. I picked up my most important stuff, turned off my phone and left. Left for good.

So. The house they were staying was 45 minutes outside Duskwood and if I'm correct it should be a two hour ride from here. I took my car and drove. Hopefully I'll manage to be there in time. Hang in there everyone. I'm coming.

So this is going to be my first story. It is going to be a Daskwood romance novel between MC and Jake. Note that MC's name is going to be Mari,as I feel that I won't be able to write of I don't have a specific person in mind.

For the backstory. This is going to be after episode 10, which hasn't been released yet but I assume it will at some point.

The group has found Hannah, Michael Hanson is the Man without a face (MWAF) and he is going to jail for a looong time. This us my theory of what is going to happen in episode 10 and how I'd live to continue the after story of my precious Jake and MC.
