Does primer actually work???
Well does it? My recent hours of excessive YouTube study have lead me to believe that there is some controversy circulating around whether or not facial primers actually work. It got me thinking, is there actually a way we can test this theory or is it a matter of personal opinion? For me personally, I definitely notice a difference in my makeup stayability if you will when I forget to put on facial primer. Mind you, it is always just after I have put on my concealer that I have that sudden oh fuck moment and realise that I have forgotten to put it on. In addition, I find it also depends on the of foundation I am using and how I set my face. I have used three facial primers in my time. The Benefit Cosmetics Porefessional Primer, the Fenty Beauty Pro Filter Primer and some random green one from NYX Cosmetics. Obviously because I cannot remember its’ name you can obviously conclude on my opinion of the NYX primer. If not I’ll break it down for you. Shitty shit shit shit. The Fenty primer I only use with the Fenty Beauty Pro Filter Foundation and from what I have found, there seems to be no difference between having it on compared to the numerous times I have forgotten to put it on. However, in regard to the Benefit Porefessional Primer, I can actually notice a difference. I find that whilst my Too Faced Hangover 3 In 1 Setting Spray is the holy grail of setting sprays, there is a significant amount of difference in the longevity of my makeup compared to when I forget to put the Porefessional facial primer on. Maybe it is because when matched with my setting spray they are like the “it” couple in high school that everyone either loved to hate or aspired to be like. Either way, I open this up to you. What do you think? Do facial primers actually work?
