Lot of headcanons; minor manga spoiler. Green Diamond, Pink Topaz, Sapphire, Ruby appeared in chapter 59 in Yellow Diamond’s memory. Colors and personalities are based on the character designs and gems’ colors.
Headcanon that Yellow Diamond had long hair in the beginning, but it was cut short by an arrow made with their first partner, Green Diamond’s piece. Afterwards they decided to live on with the short hair.
I imagine every past partner taught Yellow Diamond something that influenced their personality or ideals. Green Diamond taught them the responsibility of a diamond class; Pink Topaz believed smile brings happiness; Sapphire wanted to record and remember every single gem; and Ruby urges them to search for joy and enjoy everyday.
Though Yellow may be the oldest currently, they were once a newborn, a newbie, and a younger sibling. Hopefully, now facing “despair”, they will mature once again and overcome the obstacle.

i have nothing but love for cairngorm and his character archetype in my heart but to see someone who longed for freedom so much they'd hang onto their first chance of it for their dear life, and to see them immediately so dependant on another person to the point they cant imagine living without them and are almost always with them..... he never got the freedom he so dearly wanted and it breaks my heart
and now when the lunarians go, he goes. so he never will

Even the cutting scars on her arm would disappear, and Tally realized she didn’t want to lose them. They were a reminder of everything she’d been through, of what she’d managed to overcome.
