I knew you were gonna be sensitive about this; that’s what I like about you. I’m just asking if it would be okay, in the near future, for me to set up a [new firm] meeting. Where? All in time. I need to float your name first. And here I was thinking you were gonna take advantage of me in my fragile state. No, Franklin. Not yet.

franklinnelsonforthedefense:
Foggy smiled and tried not to laugh “Wait… what part of that statement do you feel like is beyond your reach? Taking on the world? Having someone to be your arm candy? You’re that good Marce. I’m not selling myself short here. I’m just saying… you can do the heavy lifting… I like the idea of being a pampered prince.” he shrugged and gathered her hair in his hands before braiding it with nimble and gentle fingers. It was a talent born from living with three sisters and hair just as long as theirs most of the time. He could whip out a fishtail like a sonovabitch. “But, if you say power couple fine… just, hope that we’re not across the courtroom someday… I will have to take you down since you never took care of me in the way that I would like to be accustomed to” he teased.
He did laugh as Marci smirked against his skin. “11 is reasonable. Plus we’re doing the professors a favor too. If we can convince everyone to just not take morning classes, then NO ONE has to wake up at the ass crack of dawn that is 7:00″ Then he yawned and smiled. “And I feel like I should be treating you to breakfast since you let me stay here rather than making me kick Matt out for an evening in my FAR less comfortable twin bed.”
“Defending the masses, I mean. That feels like a lot to bite off at once, plus I mean it when I say that we both can take on the world. Maybe even defend the masses properly. You can still be a pampered prince when we do it, and I’ll be your pampered princess.” Maybe she could defend the masses properly by herself, but she knew it wouldn’t be nearly as fun, she wouldn’t come out of it quite as intact. Even Marci Stahl knew her limits, sometimes more than others. She felt his fingers in her hair, gentle. Usually that made her nervous but she knew that Foggy had gentle hands and wouldn’t hurt her; he’d done this before. “I won’t let that happen. Isn’t that a conflict of interest anyway? I could make a mean backroom deal if I had to but…only with you.” She winked, leaning back into his body.

That was a good point. Why were early classes even a thing? It wasn’t like anyone wanted to be there anyway. “Trendsetters of the ages, we could make it on those fancy tabloids. They’ll interview us at reasonable hours and write books about us,” she laughed a little, wrapping both arms around him. “Please, I couldn’t let you do that to Matt. He works so hard. Besides, we both know this bed’s a lot more comfy as much as I love the charm of sharing a twin bed. Makes me feel like I’m acting my age.” She winked sleepily, closing her eyes once more.
"Marci if I said that we should just stop going to class and just... stay in your bed eating cereal... Would you think I was a sap and kick me out?" (Columbia Foggy)
@franklinnelsonforthedefense
Foggy, Foggy, Foggy. Marci wanted to tell him that no, they needed to get up right now and go to their Constitutional Law class but…God, maybe she was the sap. She hummed, rolling towards him, curling closer (the very opposite direction that she needed to be going in) and stroking his beard gently, “You’re very lucky you’re cute, Mr. Nelson.” A content sigh as her eyes slipped closed. “I think we can get away with skipping one if Wednesday’s reading is on the syllabus but we have to go to our 11 o’clock.”

@superbotanist ♥ ♥
The bar that night was proving to be a little bit of a drag--honestly, she wasn’t even looking for someone to hook up with anymore, just someone interesting to talk to.
She checked her phone, humming. Maybe Foggy had been onto something with the dive bar scene. Then she remembered that she was never any good at pool, nor was the skirt suit she had on particularly conducive to such athletic activity. Marci only looked up from her phone when her martini came, and she slid the bartender a cash tip.

It was when she sipped it, delicately, that she caught the eye of the young woman across the bar. Her face was ringing a bell, but she was having a hard time placing it. Her times collecting information in the Rand building came to mind, but she couldn’t be positive--she met so many people these days. There was only one way to find out.
Overpriced Louboutins clicked on the floor as Marci made her way over to the almost-stranger. She smiled when she reached the other woman, “You look really familiar,” she said, voice slightly raised over the bar noise, “My name’s Marci Stahl, I work with Jeri Hogarth?”
