Okay, y'all, listen up

I don't care if you ship Shaladin. A'ight. Doesn't mean that I respect that, but that also doesn't mean that I don't respect YOU.

Sure, I think that Shaladin is pedophilia. Pedophilia is defined as sexual attraction towards children, and children include not just pre-pubescents, but minors in general. BUT THAT'S HOW I SEE IT. There are plenty people who think that it's fine because pedophilia is only pre-pubescents, and GUESS WHAT, they're entitled to their OWN OPINION.

I'm 16 years old, and the thought of me dating anyone older than 18 is fucking repulsive. That's just how I feel. That doesn't mean I am going to go tell people who are in that type of relationship to KILL THEMSELVES.

WHICH IS ILLEGAL BY THE WAY.

I may not RESPECT their decision, SUPPORT their decision, I may tell them that what they're doing is UNHEALTHY. I might think that any adult who has a crush on a minor could potentially become a SEXUAL PREDATOR, but that DOES NOT MEAN ALL OF THEM ARE, nor am I going to tell them to kill themselves. THE ATTRACTION IS NOT A SIN. THE ACTION IS.

I WOULD SIMPLY LIKE TO REMIND EVERYONE THAT IF AN ADULT IS DATING A MINOR, THEY CAN GET ARRESTED.

SO I THINK IT'S BEST THEY WAIT UNTIL THE MINOR IS A LEGAL ADULT.

I think that polyamory is not okay. I think that incest is not okay. I think that abuse is not okay. I think that rape is not okay. That doesn't mean I'm an anti, that doesn't mean I refuse to respect people who do. I don't support transgenders for personal reasons, but that doesn't mean I don't have transgender friends, or that I respect transgenders as people.

I'm also just going to say, IF YOU SHIP SHALADIN, YOU'RE GOING TO GET HATE. I SHIP KLANCE, I GET HATE. THIS IS MY FOURTH FUCKING TUMBLR ACCOUNT. I WANT TO STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM TUMBLR AS POSSIBLE, BUT I WAS SO PISSED ABOUT THE ISSUES WITHIN THIS HELLZONE OF A FANDOM, I HAD TO SAY SOMETHING. ALL MY OTHER TUMBLRS WERE SHIP-CENTERED. I've seen a lot of shaladins defending their ships with "fiction doesn't affect reality." It does, to me. I see this a lot with fujoshis, who read stories like Killing Stalking AND romanticize Sangwoo and Yoon Bum's relationship. I read Killing Stalking, for the aspect of horror, not because I want Sangwoo and Yoon Bum to fuck. Sangwoo raped Yoon Bum, and I think people who are sexualizing that, have been affected by fiction. Because no matter in fiction or reality, reality is WRONG.

Have you ever heard stories about criminals who murder, who rape, etc because they watched a movie? Played a video game? I have. A ton of them, in fact. The Columbine shooters were affected by fiction.

Schizophrenia is a disorder where someone can't tell the difference between fiction and reality. It affects their lives, so don't tell me that fiction doesn't affect reality, please.

The people who told the Voltron staff to kill themselves, bombarded them with death treats, is a horrific example of HOW FICTION CAN AFFECT REALITY.

I wish everyone would just be nice, I wish we could all love each other despite our differences, even if we have different opinions. My best friend and I have different tastes, but that doesn't mean I tell her to fuck off, to kill herself. Because we love each other. So stop doing that to other people, and try to become friends with them. Respect them, even if you don't respect their opinions.

Voltron is a wonderful show, and there are wonderful people in the fandom, but there is ALWAYS two sides of a coin. The Voltron fandom is JUST as toxic as it is full of wonderful content. If Voltron gets cancelled because some whiny little bitches can't let go of the fact that their ship might not become canon, I'll be fucking pissed. No author deserves to have that kind of feedback on their story, and I'm speaking from personal experience. Do you even UNDERSTAND how fucking depressing it is to have people tell you how to write your story? WRITING IS A FORM OF ART, ACTING IS A FORM OF ART, ANIMATION IS A FORM OF ART, AND THESE ARTISTS ARE JUST TRYING TO TELL THEIR OWN STORY. They don't need some butthurt fans telling them how to do their job. Don't fucking harass them.

This post wasn't just supposed to be about Shaladin. This is about the people who harassed the writers, the actors, the producers, other people in the fandom. This is a masterpost of all the things in this fandom that need to be patched up. I don't mean putting scotch tape across the Grand Canyon, I mean taking time to stitch up the huge tear on your shirt.

What the "antis" are doing cannot be condoned. Cannot be justified. How about instead of telling people to kill themselves, or threaten to kill their families, you send an apology to the Voltron staff? I fucking wrote my own apology to Lauren Montgomery, because I was so sorry that she and the staff had to deal with that shit. They deserve all the love in the world. We as a fandom should be primarily concerned with giving the staff the love they deserve before we bitch on the internet about some fuckers who are ruining the show over something as stupid as a ship.
