Update
So sorry I haven't posted anything in forever. I was super busy with school (just graduated high school) and now it's summer break. I'll be starting college in a month, but in the meantime my family is moving and I'm moving with them. I'll post pictures of my desk once I get it all set up there!

Analyzing a Book
Analyzing a book:
Characters: Write a bio out for the main characters. Is there a clear protagonist/antagonist? Make sure you understand their goals and aims. Make the bios simple and clear so you can easy look back over them. Does the narrator have a clear favorite?
Interactions: How do the characters interact with each other. What are their relationships. How do they act and behave.
Events: Basic outline of events in the book. Summarise the story is quick paragraphs, as if you were plotting a journey.
Setting and Time: Where and when does this piece take place. Is it critical to the play. Does the narrator give you enough information to tell where and when. Does the setting give historical, political or physical information that is key to the story.
Organization: Most stories are told chronologically, however is this book different? Does the Author move back and forth between times?
Writing style: Does the writing style mean you have to fill in gaps, or is it highly detailed? Does the writing style affect the meaning?
Symbolism: Look closely at what is written. Sometimes the writer has given you information that shouldn’t be overlooked. (Omens, foreshadowing)
Theme: What elements or ideas are repeated or emphasized? Keep a note of how the theme progresses.
Retelling of the story: Is the story a retelling of an older story? Are the similarities to other tales?

100 Days of Productivity 55/100
My entire day (literally) was spent reading and listening to WWII era music for a competition tomorrow. They are stuck in my head now...

100 Days of Productivity 54/100
I hate competition weeks. Lots of studying and missing classes. I read 40 pages of music theory, 9 pages for history, took a music practice test, and finished my problems for chemistry. I'm exhausted now.

100 Days of Productivity 53/100
So after not getting home until almost 5:30 and then not getting to start homework until 8:30 I didn't get much done. I read a chapter for Public Speaking, read 22 pages on nuclear fission, fusion, and the Manhattan Project, and did a little bit of homework for AP Psychology.

100 Days of Productivity 51/100
This morning was productive. I read a chapter for Public Speaking, did some homework for international relations, read some organic chemistry, and read about the history of quantum mechanics. Looking at a busy week ahead.

100 Days of Productivity 50/100
Hard to believe I'm halfway through this challenge. Most of my day was spent at a competition to receive full tuition for college next year, then seeing my school's play. I also finished reading the packet of WWII literature. I also did my reading for international relations and read a chapter for Public Speaking.

Today I decided to be a bit lazy. I finished a chapter for history, read some WWII poetry, and did a poster for a presentation I have tomorrow morning.

100 Days of Productivity 48/100
Today I found out I got into the Honors Program at my top choice in college! In between celebrating I was able to translate some Vergil and read 13 pages on the Literature of WWII. The Latin took a while to do.
