Idk if I ever explained "fel HRT" on here but im gonna do it anyway because I feel very strongly about trans demon hunters. And there are many, many methods of transition in Azeroth, so this one specifically appeals to the freaks who want to be transformed into a sexy 7 ft tall demon elf.

Some demons, like succubus/incubus and nathrezim, have very strong sexual dimorphism. Others, like the shivarra, are all female*, or are all male like doomguards. So by singling out one of these species of demons for consumption, you can feminize/masculinize your own body in whatever direction you want. Of course with the added bonus of fun random mutations.

So you can obviously see why joining the Illidari would appeal to a certain kind of edgy societal outcast who wants a new body shaped to their own desires. Cishet demon hunters are certainly the minority. Thus the Black Temple is the largest queer housing share in World of Warcraft history.

*I dont think these demons necessarily view gender or sex the same way as us. Just saying that their actual PRESENTATION is approximate to elven ideas of gender norms.
