I keeping thinking about Witch Hat Ateliers themes around childern. How adults, and by extension community, have an inherent responsibility towards childern, the power inbalance that comes from that and what happens when they fail their responsibilities towards childern.

How WHA is a coming of age story, not of self-identity but of recognizing your part in a larger community. Of growing up and losing your innocents and naivety as you realize the flaws and injustices of society and deciding what to do about it.

Witch Hat Atelier is just kind to childern. It's empowering to them as it recognizes their lack of power and their dependancy while still showcasing how they influence and make the world better.

don't mind me just feeling insane about how olruggio and qifrey are fire and water but not as in fiery temper and soothing water, as in a warm hearth and unfathomable depths.

I love how WHA Kitchen loves showing the parenting mistakes and tactics Olruggio and Qifrey go through while raising their witchlets

Qifrey having to BOLT down the stairs when he realized he left a full bottle of very pretty alcohol on the dining table with 4 very curious girls

Olruggio safety standing at a distance watching and letting the girls use the fire spell to cook for themselves

Both of them brainstorming how to discreetly get their girls to expand their food palette and also eat their veggies

Having to rush to the aid of their kids when they realize a little too late they did not completely explain the tools that they are using

Making the food into fun and cute shapes like in children’s lunch boxes

i finally read demon slayer and I’d heard that it was mediocre but god it really is. Even with all the quibbles I have about Naruto and Bleach, they still had their good points. The first two arcs for both series contain some solid, good, storytelling. But there isn’t a single arc in Demon Slayer that got me invested or interested in the story. I think this is the first time I’ve encountered a storytelling style that is both so rushed and so heavy-handed?? How can someone skip around so much and completely brush aside anything potentially interesting, and yet hit the reader on the head with a mallet with everything else?? I think Gotouge really does have a lot of potential and I wish them all the best for their future works, but god this manga. tbh I’m kind of baffled by it.
