i cannot personally imagine a worse place to do hockey fandom than twitter. your tweets get pushed into random algorithms and suddenly straight men are trying to argue with you over your emotional support fourth liner’s stats or your funny joke pic about getting travis konecny pregnant ends up on elliotte friedman’s timeline. people get into for real fights over there that imply there is an actual moral failing if you don’t ship their blorbos and i know this because it shows up on MY timeline. and i don’t even use twitter for hockey stuff the algorithms know juuust enough to blast “there is something ontologically evil about the edmonton oilers” onto my feed and the tweet has 46k views and 3k quote retweets and at least one person in the replies arguing very seriously that disliking connor mcdavid is due to misogyny in hockey culture. even the people i agree with i disagree with. it’s crazy over there you couldn’t pay me to make a hockey twitter
