sorry but if i have to see one more ghibli style ai photo filter on any form of social media i will really have to start considering a life without the internet in the deep woods somewhere. like it’s so discouraging all the fucking time when people mindlessly participate in this stupid sort of trend without considering the overarching implications, and in this case it’s particularly egregious and doesn’t even take much thinking to see why it’s bad, when hayao miyazaki has explicitly said that he believes gen ai is an insult to life itself. a hand-drawn animated film is such a labor of love and the work of years, and using that to train ai to create soulless versions of people’s vacation photos in the name of “content”……. oh it’s bad out here.

the closer we creep to 895 btw the worse i feel !! obviously i will cry from joy when it happens but also i will be crying bc it’s actually NOT fair that nicke won’t be on the ice on the bench on the stat sheet etc and it’s going to be so fucking infuriating if they start putting the caps on national broadcasts and i don’t get a joe b call like this is one of my biggest fears that joe b wont get the call on 894 and 895 and we’ll get some national broadcast schmuck that won’t nearly do them justice. and as an additional caveat i’m scared he’s going to get 895 while locker is still out because THAT would also be so upsetting. AND it will feel sort of like the beginning of the end like not to grieve preemptively but the sun IS setting on the ovi era and ofc i love the whole team and i’m really excited about the pipeline but it’s sort of the ship of theseus nature of sports that you can never keep YOUR team forever…. you know…. so there are a lot of jumbled up feelings there also…
