Federal officials confirmed that a Southern California fourth grader who was detained by immigration officials will be deported.
Martir Garcia Lara, 9, is a student at Torrance Elementary School. On May 29, he attended an immigration hearing in downtown Los Angeles with his father, Martir Garcia-Banegas, 50.
However, instead of receiving an update on their immigration status, the boy and his father were both detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and separated from each other.
The next day, they were transferred to an immigration facility in Texas with plans to deport them to Honduras.
“He’s alone and he’s not able to return home,” said Jasmin King, PTA president at Torrance Elementary.

The SHINee Poet | Artist Theory
Jonghyun has always told us up until the end that he is always with us. SHINee has reiterated that not just in “Poet | Artist” but in so many of their works, both in MVs but in things they’ve told us throughout the time following his passing.
The first music video I want to reference is “Lonely”, but only the very last sequence. Throughout the song, Jonghyun is lamenting feeling alone and in the music video’s conclusion, it is implied that he didn’t make it through as shown from his beach sequence.
But this sequence continues through his “Agit: The Letter” sequence in which Jonghyun actually is an author of letters he leaves in bottles on the beach and lives in a peaceful little shack or bungalow (his BASE, if you will).
This can be directly seen in SHINee’s “Poet | Artist” but just to continue on this Jonghyun route, the following music video he had released was his posthumous “Shinin’” in which he reiterates he is always with us. He even shows himself as an angelic, eternal DJ who fits into our radio speakers and oversees music.
Cue back to SHINee, particularly their song “The Feeling”. In this music video, we hear a lot of SHINee’s signature sound. There are a ton of theories about this music video, one of them being that SHINee all represent senses which I totally agree with, but since this is a theory on “Poet | Artist”, I’m going to bypass this for a few other points to focus on.
In this music video, SHINee seem to be stranded on a beach searching for something. They all seem to be looking for something, chasing some unknown. The only person who may have some clue is Minho who is holding a map that has landmarks all connected to the SHINee plagiarism albums (Ace - Base - Face - Voice - Chase). Either way, SHINee are searching for something until these particular lines/lyrics show up in their song:
“When you feel me, look up
I’ll feel you close
Sending shivers across my skin
The feeling”
And light emerges and they begin chasing what seems to be the light shining through the clouds, emerging like a sunset after a storm.
Which leads to “Poet | Artist” which opens with SHINee chasing the light that looks like a beach sunset. They’re running forward, looking ahead and the one time when anyone looks back, it’s Onew who seems to be beckoning someone we can’t see.
Like Jonghyun.
All that to say, this music video ties in where and how we find that Jonghyun is with us and always has been and never left. It’s apparent from the first moment. From the fact that the song is his, lyrics his, words his, voice his. And the album title? His. The concept? SHINee plagiarism at its finest. Full circle. And the MV is full proof.
There is space for his choreography. Space where they dance in a circle to converge four shadows into one. Moments where they dance with moves reminiscent of their old songs which is purely showing just how far they’ve come and how much SHINee and Jonghyun both are woven into everything they do. This is so reminiscent to the moment when we realized Jonghyun’s plushie for this album is held by SHINee members. He is always there.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. If we look at the music video beyond them just chasing the sun or the road ahead, there are multiple other scenes where we can see Jonghyun. In the house they’re at, where the letters come flying in, it’s reminiscent of Jonghyun’s letters he wrote in his base and even the set looks like the setting of his photoshoot for Agit: The Letter. When he sings and the members not only dance and shadows converge but they catch his shine, knowing Jonghyun’s voice and presence is “shinin’” in everything he does.
Just like when they saw the light at the end of “The Feeling” and chased it until all barriers fell apart. That’s another symbolism too! Jonghyun’s lyrics in “Poet | Artist” talk all about him not being confined:
“Don't gеt me wrong
don't confine me in a framе”
But even more so, the next line is so telling in the lyrics:
“At the moment
Our pale white fingertips touched
Don't just stand there,
Again you're With me
Everyone, gather gather”
The moment we look past the walls, the barriers, the confines of our eyes or our physical senses (a la the Feeling), we get to find Jonghyun in everything. He is woven into every song and every moment and every breath of choreo. He is always with us. He promised us and he means it.
In the conclusion of “Poet | Artist”, SHINee is looking outside the window and then forwards in the sunlight and at the end of “Shinin’”, Jonghyun is looking back at them, at us. He is always with us as long as we know where to look.
