I get where those people are coming from,he used Rex's DNA and while he did take his name out of love,doing it at his funeral is horrible timing. I'll give him a pass though since he was still getting used to interacting with society as an actual person.

seeing self proclaimed robot enjoyers deadname him is kinda crazy as a comic reader because wdym you still liked him after he brutally beat up a pregnant woman but him acquiring a name unethically is somehow over the line

this is like the least malicious part about his identity and it's something he actually does out of love... why would this be the trait you resent about him when there's such a wide range of other options

I know TMNT fans (Me) just love their heat fics and headcanons,but after some thought I came to the conclusion that the ROTTMNT turtles wouldn't be affected by it as much.I could be wrong,but in every other iteration the turtles gaining human sentience with bodies to match is pure coincidence,they could've just as easily ended up as piles of goop or hideous monsters.But in Rise,they end up looking the way they do because they're part human thanks to Lou Jitsu's DNA. So while I think that they'd still have to deal with that time of the month, it wouldn't be as intense of a backslide into the turtle mindset as the others.
