Swimming and Sweets in Cassis
Some pictures from beautiful Cassis today!!! I love love love Cassis – it is a beautiful little port town that offers the most incredible hikes and views. We didn’t have time (or the correct clothing lol) to do a hike but instead we hung on the beach and rented a paddle boat which was so fun. The kids searched for pirates and jumped in the freezing water followed by getting some gelato which you can tell the kids were very into. It is always fun going back with kids to places David and I have been before and have memories. We kept talking about all the familiar spots we passed – the parking lot we slept in (we slept in our car haha), the place we went to get hot coco because I was so cold that morning, the hotel we parked outside of hoping to get some free wifi 😉 haha such freeloaders omg. I love the poor newlywed memories and think they are the absolute funnest to look back on.

Seaside Brunch Invitations
A seaside brunch with a few of your closest friends – doesn’t that sound like a dream? I love this brunch idea for birthday parties, bridal showers, or really any occasion. The romantic seaside brunch invitations by Jen of Chatty Press were printed on handmade paper from Farmette Press to mimic the rugged Maine coastline and feature Jen’s whimsical hand lettering on a fun keepsake print (the best kind of keepsake, IMHO). Take a look!
From Jen: The coast of Maine is often thought of as rocky and rugged, so we wanted to showcase the romantic vibes of the sandy seacoast for this seaside brunch invitation. While it’s easy to thrown down a blanket and a cooler and have a great time together, this group of gals wanted a day together that was a little more fanciful. So with windswept skirts four good friends spent the morning noshing on baked goods and fruit on a whitewashed farm table.
I wanted the ladies invited to this brunch to feel special and have something aside from the memories to remember the day, so I decided to make a keepsake print inspired by the seacoast. After reading a ton of quotes about the seaside, the ocean, friendship and love, I decided that this short and sweet saying “High tides and good vibes” was the perfect sentiment that perfectly fit the feeling of the day.
I hand lettered the quote, first as a pencil sketch, and then digitally, to be letterpress printed onto some very pillowy and soft handmade paper from Farmette Press. I didn’t quite want the ink color to match the handmade envelopes, but I wanted something that complimented it, so I chose a blue that was a tad bit darker and really popped on the off-white paper.
Of course, the invitation still had to convey the important details, so I decided to create a small card printed on a sandstone grey handmade paper, that was concise and to the point. Each card was printed by hand on my antique golding pearl. I absolutely love adding something special and memorable to an invitation that guests won’t just throw away, and this keepsake print is my current favorite.
Thanks Jen!

From Camila Mendes to Lil Nas X, Here Are This Weekend’s Best Looks From Our Favorite Stars
Another weekend, another award show, giving us a bevy of looks to choose from for our weekend style round-up. Lizzo wowed again in a themed-outfit, and Lil Nas X didn’t deviate from his signature Western look we love so much (he gave us not one, but TWO yeehaw moments!). Bonus! Today is Solange’s birthday. Happy Birthday to our style idol! Even though it was Solange’s birthday, she gave us the gift of wearing our outfit of the week.
Most Yeehaw: Lil Nas X
We love a signature look, and our recent cover star Lil Nas X wears the Western look so well. Why fix it if it’s not broken?! His BET Awards red carpet look of the night was a blue suit (sans shirt) that included floral and animal print patchwork details. Later in the evening, he made an outfit change to a black and yellow number (with tassels!) and cheesed for the camera with Rihanna. We can’t even.
Best Birthday Suit: Solange
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SOLANGE, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO HER! We’re truly so blessed to have such an amazing artist alive at the same time as us. This weekend Solange performed at the Kenzo runway show. She wore a one-shoulder floral-on-black look with matching tasseled gloves. It was beyond mystical. The pearl accents in her hair looked like a crown, which makes a lot of sense when you think of it, since she’s royalty to us.
Best Sandlot Look: Gigi Hadid

Brands (And This Website) Want You to Vote Today
It’s Election Day, which is cool, assuming lots of people vote (go vote). But because down is up in 2018, it’s been corporations — and Big Fashion in particular — that have been doing some of the best work when it comes to promoting the democratic process.
As reported by WWD, “The cliché used to be that the consumer votes with their wallets. Now American fashion brands are stepping up efforts for them to vote at the polls,” and they’re doing it a whole bunch of different ways.
After Patagonia revealed the entire company would be closing on Election Day so that “every one of its U.S.-based employees could vote,” the idea — dubbed “Time to Vote” — was adopted by 400 other companies, including Levi Strauss & Co. and Walmart.
New York designer Rachel Comey is taking things a step further today, by ferrying voters to “canvas nearby swing districts” in conjunction with SwingLeft and Downtown for Democracy.
Nike’s CEO Mark Parker and Columbia Sportswear’s chairman and CEO Tim Boyle teamed up to write “a formal opposition in Oregon’s Voter’s Guide opposing Measure 105, which would strike down the state’s 30-year-old sanctuary law.”
Even New Balance is getting in on the action — probably wise considering the way things went in 2016 — with their #RuntothePolls campaign, which they’re rolling out in tandem with (and this is real) Betches Media.
Elsewhere, Theory, Carbon38 and Wildfang, among others, have been running targeted campaigns, and at the end of September, designer Tory Burch launched a limited-run “Vote” T-shirt, with all net proceeds going to actor and activist Yara Shahidi’s Eighteen x 18 voting initiative.
The big take away: being “political” isn’t risky for brands anymore. According to a cited survey, “more shoppers are keeping tabs on where manufacturers and retailers stand on current social, environmental and political issues,” making a political presence arguably on-trend.
But again, it’s Election day, so if you already voted, what’s up. Otherwise, GO FUCKING VOTE.
You can read more about it at WWD.

Ariana Grande's "Sweetener" Tour Will Include a Special Manchester Show
Ariana Grande continues to give new meaning to the phrase “the gift that keeps on giving.” Over the past few weeks, the singer-songwriter has given fans an epic breakup anthem, an equally epic music video for said breakup anthem, a dreamy song about a forever unattainable love, and, of course, an impending world tour. And now, the pop star has revealed that the Sweetener world tour will include a special show for Manchester.
On Friday, December 14, Ariana shared the dates for the European leg of her upcoming tour, which will begin in August 2019. Soon enough, fans noticed that Manchester was not on the list. The pop star later revealed on her Instagram stories that Manchester was deliberately left off, because she was planning a “special show” for the city. “We need a bit more time getting things together before we can announce that date but we are, of course, coming and we love you,” Ariana’s post read. (While her Instagram story has since expired from the social media platform, it has been captured and shared on Twitter since.)
On May 22, 2017, 22 people were killed and dozens more were injured from a bombing at Ariana’s concert in Manchester. In the wake of the attack, Ariana has been open about how the incident affected her mental health, revealing that she’s experienced PTSD from the horrific event. “It's hard to talk about because so many people have suffered such severe, tremendous loss. But, yeah, it's a real thing,” Ariana told British Vogue in July 2018. “Time is the biggest thing. I feel like I shouldn't even be talking about my own experience — like I shouldn't even say anything. I don't think I'll ever know how to talk about it and not cry.”
Ariana has honored the victims and families several times before, taking part in a tribute concert just a week after the terrifying attack, which raised millions of dollars in donations for the victims. On the one-year anniversary of the attack, Ariana wrote on social media: “Thinking of you all today and every day. I love you with all of me and am sending you all of the light and warmth I have to offer on this challenging day.” In recent interviews, Ariana has admitted that the attack still weighs on her regularly. “I wish there was more that I could fix,” she told Time. You think with time it’ll become easier to talk about. Or you’ll make peace with it. But every day I wait for that peace to come and it’s still very painful.”

Model, 24, who struggled with anorexia and weighed just 42 kilos reveals people who 'saved her life'
Designer, 24, shares her agonising battle with anorexia that saw her weight plunge to a potentially deadly 42 kilos - and the moment she dragged herself from the abyss
Maddison Islaub is a Sydney-based designer and former top model in Australia
The 24-year-old began working in the modelling industry at the tender age of 19
She was frequently told she needed to lose 'baby fat' and to return when she had
Maddison fell into the grips of a severe eating disorder and is still recovering
The Bondi native points to her parents as being the ones who helped her

Maddison Islaub is about to launch her own fashion label and is engaged to the love of her life.
At 24 the stunning brunette who lives on Sydney's Bondi Beach has much to to look forward to.
But just a few years ago the former model was in the grips of a deadly battle with anorexia nervosa, depression and anxiety.

NOW: Maddison works with personal trainer Jono Castano on building her lean muscle and healing from the inside out (pictured)
'I used to go into modelling agencies when I was about 17 and get told to come back in a year when I had lost some "baby fat",' Miss Islaub explained of her start.
While the fashion world excited her and she described some of the jobs she had as 'incredible', there was always a niggling pressure 'in her head' to maintain a skinnier figure.
'One day, after I had lost a lot of weight, I tried out for Australia's Next Top Model. The judges Alex Perry and Jennifer Hawkins both told me to come back after I'd gained weight,' she explained.
'They wanted me to be on the show but couldn't risk the ratings and media assumptions of me being on the show after Cassi [Van Den Dungen] got all the scrutiny for being underweight.
'That one killed me the most. Too big or too small... I was never enough.'
At the time Miss Islaub was 'inundating' herself with information about different diets and lifestyles, putting a lot of pressure on herself to maintain her weight.

'I'd cut out every carb, oil, and limit my fats... basically eating vegetables. I'd see beautiful, skinny girls with what I saw as incredible bodies all over my feed... and I'd look in the mirror and think I was massive.
Her attitude towards food and exercise at the time was 'obsessive' and involved excessive cardio, running and avoiding social situations.
'I'd pack every lunch, I would read menus before going out with friends or families to see if I can "eat there" and if I couldn't, I would find a reason to cancel,' she said.
'If I didn't have a choice and had to eat out I would get so much anxiety and just start crying. I wouldn't let anyone cook for me because I couldn't see what was going in it.
'If I had nights out or I was "bad" with eating I would make myself sick, abuse laxatives or increase my exercise. It was a really, really dark and scary place.'

'I was so depressed and anxious. Relationships were broken, I stopped seeing friends or doing anything. I had no energy, I was always freezing cold. I just wanted to sleep,' she said.
'My mum forced me to go to my GP... she took me down there and told me we were just testing my bloods. It was the best thing she could have done.
'They weighed me and at 5'9 [175cm] in height I was a very scary 42 kilos. I had two options... get admitted to hospital with a feeding tube or make a change now.
'The thought of hospital scared me so much. I made a promise I would help myself. My parents honestly saved my life, they were there for me through the hardest times... screaming, crying when I had to eat, but we eventually got there.'

'I lost my period for four years, my bones became frail, my digestive issues are a constant struggle, stomach issues, endless issues I have to deal with now,' she explained.
'I was so severely underweight and was still not happy with myself. I would never have been skinny enough for my eating disorder.
'The amount of damage and stress I put on my body could have very closely lead to death.'
In order to adjust her perspective on exercise, Miss Islaub now visits celebrity personal trainer and owner of Acero Training, Jono Castano, and has all but completely stopped doing cardio.
'It's all about building muscle. My diet has changed immensely, I eat a healthy balanced diet. Lots of protein, good fats and good carbs,' she said.

Miss Islaub hopes by sharing her story with others they will recognise how powerful - and potentially harmful - comparing yourself to people on social media can be
'Obviously with training so much I need to make sure I am eating a lot so I'm gaining weight and not losing weight. Last time I checked I was around 54 kilos.'
Miss Islaub hopes by sharing her story with others they will recognise how powerful - and potentially harmful - comparing yourself to people on social media can be.
'It's their job to edit those photos and use Photoshop to remove every normal "flaw",' she said.
'Unfollow the accounts that are making you feel cr*p, and know that to feel strong, to have self love, be confident and comfortable in your own skin is the most incredible gift,' she said.
'I never want anyone to have to go through this, its been the hardest time of my life.

6 Things Barack Obama and Beto O'Rourke Could Discuss Other Than the 2020 Election
A recent meeting between former President Barack Obama and Beto O’Rourke, the Texas Democratic senate candidate who lost to Ted Cruz during the midterm elections, has sparked further conversation about a potential presidential run for O’Rourke in 2020.
First reported by The Washington Post, the meeting sparked a lot of discussion about what it could indicate about O’Rourke’s next political move. But we’re stuck imagining what a conversation between the two might’ve entailed. Here are five important issues that might be interesting to hear them chat about if they have any other hangouts planned:
Immigration Policy
From a creative interpretation of a 2005 C-Span clip of Obama to asserting that their family separation policies are similar (spoiler alert: they’re not), President Donald Trump has brought up former President Obama’s views on immigration quite a bit lately. Obama does hold the record for deporting more immigrants than any president, although he scaled back in the last 2 years of his presidency.
It certainly was not standard practice to separate families at the border, as it became under Trump’s “zero tolerance policy,” though. In June, Obama posted an emotional Facebook message decrying the policy, writing in part, “To watch those families broken apart in real time puts to us a very simple question: are we a nation that accepts the cruelty of ripping children from their parents’ arms, or are we a nation that values families, and works to keep them together?”
O’Rourke, meanwhile, was a very vocal opponent of the policy; he took a break from the campaign trail to help lead a protest at a tent city where migrant children were held, also in June.
A conversation between O’Rourke and Obama might address Trump’s latest claims and allow the two men to discuss their ideas for immigration reform that focus on more than enforcement. After seeing how the system has been used by the Trump administration, there might be room to discuss how to keep the next Democrat to win the White House from relying so heavily on deportation.
The Criminal Justice System
Earlier this year, O’Rourke wrote on op-ed for Houston Chronicle readers on his plan for criminal justice reform that would include “[eliminating] private, for-profit prisons,”[ending] the failed war on drugs,” “[ending] the current use of bail bonds,” “[providing] meaningful reentry to help cut down on recidivism” and doing away with “mandatory-minimum sentences for non-violent drug offenses.” He also gave an impassioned speech about the killing of Botham Jean while campaigning.
Obama famously commented on the killing of Trayvon Martin in 2013, saying, “When Trayvon Martin was first shot I said that this could have been my son. Another way of saying that is Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago.”
The duo of exceptional orators could discuss their ideas for police reform, including what did and did not work under the Obama administration — and what has happened since Obama’s successor has taken office.
Trump
Obama has tried to keep his comments on the Trump administration to a minimum but has made thinly veiled references to Trump in speeches about liars. O’Rourke, meanwhile, is vocally critical of Trump’s policies.
Both Obama and O’Rourke have been targeted by the president. A conversation between the two about Trump could go far beyond how to run against him in 2020; it could include a discussion on the nature of the presidency moving forward.
Healthcare
O’Rourke wasn’t shy in campaigning on “universal, guaranteed, high-quality health care for all.” He’s also been vocal about the fact that he doesn’t think Obamacare went far enough in achieving this goal.
When the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare) was originally passed, there was some consideration for a single-payer system that would be similar to universal healthcare. But as NBC News reported, one of the bill’s chief architects, former Senator Max Baucus (D-MT), didn’t believe the country was ready for it at the time.
But the 2018 midterms saw Medicare for All — another name for a universal healthcare system — gain currency in Democratic political spaces, as Business Insider documented. A discussion on healthcare between O’Rourke and Obama could address how that shift has taken place and what it could mean moving forward.
The Future of the Democratic Party
During the 2008 campaign, Obama represented a new face for the Democrats. With poise and youth, his election included record voter turnout as energized voters seized the opportunity to vote in a historic election.
O’Rourke has compared to Obama a lot this year, as Vanity Fair and Politico noted. He enters at a time when Democratic outliers like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have made breaking from party orthodoxy a little more common than it may have been when Obama surged onto the national stage.
What does the future of the Democratic Party look like and how does the political party move forward? How does the party reach communities that feel they’ve previously been ignored by politicians? O’Rourke and Obama could have an enlightening conversation on what their political party needs to do to galvanize voters moving forward.
Punk Rock
This one’s just for fun. O’Rourke was famously in a punk band in the 1990s, as Vox reported. Turns out he still has a lot of respect for the punk scene all these years later.
“They started their own label, they pressed their own records, they wrote their own songs, they booked their own tours and they set conditions, like: you’re not gonna pay more than five bucks to come into this show,” O’Rourke told Rolling Stone as he expressed his admiration for the DIY ethics of indie label Dischord Records.
Obama had supporters in the punk scene, as noted by Consequence of Sound and Noisey. But a Vice investigation found that it seems Obama doesn’t have much punk in his personal library.
Maybe O’Rourke could trade him a starter punk playlist for some good tips on jazz — something Obama knows a fair bit about, apparently.

Pete Davidson Walks in Alexander Wang Spring 2020 Fashion Show
Today in things you might not have expected: Pete Davidson can now add “fashion model” to his resume. The Saturday Night Live star made his runway debut on Friday, May 31, when he walked in Alexander Wang’s show at Rockefeller Center.
As noted by People, the designer’s Spring 2020 show was open to the public, where tourists and NYC residents alike could view the models from the upper level of Rockefeller Plaza. Pete hit the runway wearing a white tank top (showing off his collection of tattoos), black backwards baseball hat, two-toned jeans, and an Alexander Wang belt.

Steven Ferdman/Getty Images
Pete was definitely in good company at the show. Vogue reports that the SNL comedian was joined by several A-list models, including runway veterans Kendall Jenner and Kaia Gerber.
In an interview with WWD, an Alexander Wang spokesperson explained the overall vision for the Rockefeller location, saying: “As an American brand that is rooted in New York, Rockefeller Center represented the energy and the epicenter of New York City.”
It remains to be seen whether or not this was just a one-time occurrence for Pete, or if he’ll be hitting the runway again in the future. Who knows, maybe some Instagram spon-con too — anything could happen.

Penn Badgley Writes Why He Fought for Immigrant Mom Vilma Carrillo's Reunion With Her Daughter, Yeisvi
Shana Tabak is driving me through the rain. Shana is a lawyer from the Midwest and serves as the executive director of the Tahirih Justice Center’s Atlanta office. It’s December 14, 2018, and I’m in the passenger seat trying to take a selfie with her (typical actor), hoping to generate a little buzz about our trip.
I’ve teamed up with Shana and Tahirih in an effort to free Vilma Carrillo. Vilma sadly could not be pictured with us at the time because she was in immigration detention in Ocilla, Georgia, being silenced and hidden while she endured separation from her daughter, Yeisvi, for more than seven months. Her treatment reflects the explicit use of fear as a tactic in certain U.S. policies. Vilma was being made into an example.
When we arrived at the detention center to visit Vilma, I was not allowed in; we were told that we had misunderstood the hours for visitors who are not attorneys. Shana, who had already triple-checked, knew this was not true. This was yet another degree of obstruction of justice for Vilma, and it could have concluded our visit right here, so Shana whispered to me, “Work your magic."
I felt pathetic and ashamed that there might be magic for a marginally famous white man to work his way into a detention facility where others are powerless to escape, so I smiled desperately and, before I opened my mouth, I tried to hold Vilma in my mind. She and I had not yet met. She was, at this point, only an idea that I had real trouble connecting with because our experiences and lives have been so different.
Vilma is an indigenous Guatemalan woman and a victim of prolonged domestic violence; she says her abuser punched her face so hard that she lost her four front teeth. In her hometown, she saw the bodies of women in the street, shot in the head. Eventually, she and her 12-year-old daughter, Yeisvi, fled this horrific gender-based violence to seek protection as asylum seekers here in the United States.
Hoping for a chance to make their case for safety and relief, mother and daughter arrived at our border and were separated — thousands of miles apart — under this presidential administration’s “zero tolerance” policy this past spring. In June, a federal judge ordered that most separated families be reunited by July 26, 2018 — though not all of them were. After the deadline, Vilma was transferred to a detention center in Texas and was told that she would be reunited with Yeisvi there. But their reunion didn’t happen then.
There was a legal hang-up stopping the mother and daughter from being reunited: Yeisvi was born in the U.S. during a brief visit by her parents during a stint as undocumented farm workers, so authorities refused to reunite her with Vilma because the federal ruling did not expressly include U.S.-citizen children. Consequently, Yeisvi was placed in foster care in Arizona. Vilma was transferred back to Georgia to face her asylum hearing without a fair trial
Vilma says that when she appeared in court, her asylum application and evidence remained in a backpack in the possession of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which she could not communicate because her court-appointed interpreter spoke the wrong indigenous dialect of the Mam language. She was subsequently denied asylum and ordered deported. The Tahirih Justice Center is currently handling her appeal.
Vilma's daughter, Yeisvi.
Courtesy of Tahirih Justice Center
When I met Vilma on December 14, she wept openly during our visit as she wondered what she had done wrong. She passed me colorful handmade bracelets through the plexiglass barrier and asked if Shana and I thought her daughter would like them. One read, "Feliz Navidad" — just in time for Christmas.

Freelancers Want to Join Unions but Labor Laws Won't Let Them
Unions are more popular than they’ve been in almost two decades, thanks to successful organizing efforts in new sectors like digital media and fast food, revitalized labor action in more traditional industries like education and manufacturing, and the threat of a general strike helping end a painful government shutdown. The labor movement is behind the greatest advances for working people in this country’s history — from the eight-hour workday to the minimum wage and the end of child labor — and built the United States middle class as we know it.
However, due to a flaw in a major labor law passed back during the New Deal era, not everyone is able to join a union.
Following the passage of the 1926 Railway Labor Act, which oversaw labor relations in the railroad and airline industries, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) of 1935, which has remained the bedrock of federal labor law in the U.S. The NLRA guarantees the majority of private sector workers the right to organize and join unions, engage in collective bargaining with their employers, and take collective action, like striking, when deemed necessary. Under this law, no employer can fire or threaten to fire a worker for organizing or joining a union or being pro-union, something that many bosses neglect to tell said workers during efforts at union-busting.
Because of the NLRA, thousands of workers across the country have been able to organize and bargain for better wages and working conditions, but, because of the way the law was written, thousands of others have been left without a legal option to do either.
Government employees, agricultural laborers, independent contractors, and supervisors (with limited exceptions), as well as domestic workers and those covered by the Railway Labor Act are excluded from the NLRA. Some of these workers are also not covered by the Occupational Safety and Health Act (which oversees workplace safety) or the Fair Labor Standards Act (which regulates wages and hours); in addition, those classified as independent contractors are responsible for paying their own federal and state income taxes (which, as anyone who has to do this can tell you, adds up quickly). These excluded worker categories also often represent some of the most vulnerable people. For example, an overwhelming number of agricultural workers are subject to low wages and dangerous working conditions, and while they do have some specific protections, those efforts still fall short.
It’s also important to note the racist history behind the exclusion of certain worker categories. Today, most U.S. farm workers come from Latin American countries like Mexico and Guatemala, and about half of those workers are undocumented. But at the time of the NLRA’s signing, the majority of agricultural workers were black, and some scholars believe it’s no coincidence that these workers were excluded from the NLRA.
As Juan F. Perea notes in his paper “The Echoes of Slavery: Recognizing the Racist Origins of the Agricultural and Domestic Worker Exclusion from the National Labor Relations Act”: “Southern congressmen wanted to exclude black employees from the New Deal to preserve the quasi-plantation style of agriculture that pervaded the still-segregated Jim Crow South.”
This imperfect law still governs the lives of working people today, and the way an employer uses it to classify the people who work for them has a huge impact on an employee’s ability to protect and advocate for themselves. Worker misclassification under the NLRA is the source of many of the ongoing labor disputes in multiple industries, from tech to digital media.
That means that there are millions of workers who are left unprotected by the country’s most important labor law, and who can’t join most unions even if they wanted to. “There isn’t a clear-cut way for workers to determine if they are misclassified on their own,” Amity Paye, a representative from Service Employees International Union Local 32BJ, tells Teen Vogue.

All the Reasons a Brunch Wedding Might be Perfect for You!
Pop the champagne and pour out the OJ! No matter how you do it, brunch is one meal that you could almost always classify as an event. A springy dress or cute jumpsuit is a given, the company is A-plus, and how can you disappoint with food options from eggs to salads to waffles?! (Not to mention: coffee.) There really is something for everyone, which is why we’re huge fans of the brunch wedding.
Sophie Spier at Amazing Days Events agrees. And to take it one step further, she suggests making a weekend out of it somewhere off the beaten path! Sophie came across the Skyview Los Alamos, an iconic roadside motel turned boutique luxury near Santa Barbara and with it, all the inspiration for a laid-back brunch wedding:
The pops of color, desert-style landscaping, hill views, and retro vibe were speaking to me! This hotel screams, “Stay here for the weekend! And bring your fun, funky, amazing friends with you!” As a wedding planner, my couples are always looking for a full-weekend experience for their guests and Skyview is the perfect option. Cheers to weekend-long celebrations and brunch + bubbly after the I Dos!
Below, we’ve got some dreamy images from Anna Delores Photography, along with all the reasons to consider a brunch wedding for your own big day!
Reason 1: You Like to Explore
It’s just as fun to make a mini road trip out of it as it is to host a brunch wedding closer to home! We just love the idea of hosting your guests for a night or weekend somewhere unexpected and cozy—because nothing goes better with brunch than a little r-e-l-a-x-i-n-g.
How cute is this place!
Reason 2: You’re a Morning Person
A morning ceremony is kind of awesome, to be honest. Wake up, get ready, get married, spend the rest of the day with your new spouse and guests! Instead of filling up the day with prep, anticipation, and last-minute details, it’s all love, food, and fun!
That said, make sure your venue will let you in the night before to get everything set up. This floral ceremony backdrop by Ella & Louie is the sort of stunning piece that can be built offsite and set up the morning of!
Reason 3: Food is a Priority
All couples have their thing: maybe it’s the music, the videographer, or the fashion. If food is your thing, it’s hard to define a more crowd-pleasing meal than brunch.
Plus, brunch is just so pretty!
Details from Otis & Pearl + Onyx & Redwood brought those retro-chic vibes to the table for this cute tablescape!
Reason 4: The Cocktails Start Early
“It’s 5 o’clock somewhere” never applied better to a situation. Bubbles and Bloody Marys can easily segue into beers by the pool—just sayin’!
Love this DIY Bloody Mary situation!
Fun floral details are always a fave.
Reason 5: The Fun Lasts All Day
The BEST brunches are the ones where you have no plans afterward and the day just unfolds from there. Pretty perfect to let it unfold while you’re with BFFs at a super-cool location where the pool beckons if you ask us.
The options really are limitless from there! You could go traditional and host a dance party later that night, or go for some real laid-back vibes with afternoon massages.
But whatever you do, let there be cake alongside those waffles! We think this simple delight by Sarah Bozanich Williams would do just the trick.
Feeling inspired and looking for more? We love this brunch wedding in Malibu and this pop-up brunch wedding in the Arizona desert!

Cole Sprouse Says the "Riverdale" Cast Is "Recovering" After Luke Perry's Death
Actor Luke Perry, who played Archie’s father Fred Andrews on Riverdale, passed away on March 4 after suffering a massive stroke. Since then, the cast of the show has publicly grieved their loss, posting tributes to Luke and dedicating all future Riverdale episodes to his memory. The loss of Luke is a tough one — Fred was the moral compass of the show, and Luke has been a TV legend since his Beverly Hills 90210 days.
Grief is not an easy process, and it sounds like the Riverdale cast is going through it together. Cole Sprouse recently spoke about the loss to James Corden in an interview on The Late Late Show, saying that the cast is “recovering.”
"Luke was one of those guys that I think would much rather have us laughing and telling stories about his life than lamenting it, but he was a good man," Cole said. "He was one of the guys that you never heard a bad word said about him ever in Hollywood, but out of respect for the privacy of his family during this time, I’m just trying to keep it brief." The official statement from Luke’s rep included a request from the family for “privacy in this time of great mourning,” so we understand why Cole would be respectful of their wishes.
Many of the cast members have made tributes to Luke on their social profiles since his passing. KJ Apa posted a candid pic of Luke to his Instagram, writing, “Rest in love bro” to honor his onscreen father. Camila Mendes shared some sweet words, writing that Luke “took care of us all.” And Cole posted a beautiful shot of Luke and KJ before Luke’s passing, adding “Love you bud.” Clearly, the actor was loved by everyone in the Riverdale family, and they’re grieving his loss the best way they know how, with happy memories and with support from one another.

Stan Lee's Audiobook "Alliances: A Trick of Light" Will Make You Rethink Your Digital Reality
Between portable computers, pocket-sized phones, and the invention of social media, 21st-century technology has revolutionized society as we know it. Of course, with the rise of technology comes the reliance on these inventions and the ability to distort reality — both purposefully and subconsciously. It’s these modern day issues and themes that are explored in Stan Lee’s latest superhero adventure: Stan Lee's Alliances: A Trick of Light.
Released posthumously on June 27, Lee’s first ever audiobook takes the fantastical world of superheroes off the page and into the world of auditory storytelling. An Audible original, Lee’s latest project was created with the help of Academy Award-winning filmmaker Ryan Silbert, Marvel alum Luke Lieberman and author Kat Rosenfield. Actor Yara Shahidi narrates the audio adventure.
For fans of Lee’s work, this audiobook is yet another addition to the Hollywood powerhouse’s extensive repertoire of superhero lore. Lee himself recorded the introduction to the book before he died in late 2018, providing insight into one of his last-ever projects and explaining his desire for fans to immerse themselves in the story, painting the universe for themselves.
Audible
The manuscript for the project, which took about four years to complete, was finished prior to Lee’s passing and incorporates many of his famed storytelling motifs. Like other Lee creations, A Trick of Light will be set in a modern world and delve into themes like identity, human connection, and friendship.
The audio-focused story introduces listeners to the brand new Alliance universe, which is completely separate from the Marvel Cinematic Universe Lee is most well-known for. A Trick of Light is a superhero origin story that follows the blossoming friendship between Cameron and Nia, two teens with extraordinary technological abilities. Rosenfield, who helped bring these characters to life, tells Teen Vogue the protagonists will be easy to relate to if you spend any time (or even too much time) online.
Lee, whose majority of his work took the form of a comic book or movie, was excited by the idea of using an audiobook to transport fans into a new world.
“This is something he hadn’t really done before, this immersive audio experience with Audible,” Lieberman tells Teen Vogue. “He loved fan engagement, he loved the idea that the audience is essentially his collaborator because they’re going to kind of visualize the story. They become the artists and he’s supplying the story.”

Meet the young women who travel for a living and the skincare brands they swear by
Beauty tips from a life on the road: Young women who travel the world for a living share the skincare products they swear by - and the one thing they have in common
Marie Fe, 28, travels around the world with her fiancé Jake Snow for eight months of every year
In that time Marie has come to learn that her plant-based diet and an app called 'codecheck' are invaluable
Australian 'van lifer' Elise Cook similarly follows an all natural regime to compliment her constant travel
She and her husband Domenic Palumbo have been touring around Australia in a VW kombi for years now

Those of us who have travelled in a plane or on long journeys in a car know the struggle of keeping your skin hydrated and blemish-free - and that's just when we go on a quick two week holiday.
But when travelling is your job it becomes even more difficult to create a beauty routine that will be effective in different climates and countries.
Marie Fe and Elise Cook are two women living the 'dream life' - travelling constantly and sharing envy-inducing photos on social media - but they've worked hard to make sure their skincare works as hard as they do.

'Travelling for eight months a year can be exhausting at times, especially for my skin,' Marie, 28, told FEMAIL
'Travelling for eight months a year can be exhausting at times, especially for my skin,' Marie, 28, told FEMAIL.
The German-born beauty has been country hopping with her fiancé Jake Snow, who is Australian, for three years. They share their incredible journey on Instagram.
'From the moment I met Jake on a beach in Thailand almost three years ago I have been on the road ever since, never stopping for more than three months at a time,' she explained.
'We have visited 30 countries together in almost the same amount of months, travelling on buses, planes, tuk-tuks and ferries. We've slept in airports, tents, hostels, campervans, villas and under the stars. With all of the crazy twists and turns this lifestyle throws at me, it is my skin that tells me if I'm looking after myself properly or not.'

Marie maintains a healthy, meat-free diet to combat any skin woes she might encounter while touring.
'For two years now I have been following a whole plant-based diet. This is the absolute main reason I am able to stay in shape, look vibrate and keep my skin clear while travelling,' she said.
'A whole plant-based diet is rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants which are all vital in keeping our skin healthy and glowing. I try to eat as much fruit as possible concentrating on getting enough berries in each day.
While she doesn't over-complicate her skincare routine, there are a few products she swears by - particularly when, after coming off birth control, she found her hormones were 'all over the place'
In general Marie won't eat airport food - instead choosing to bring her own nuts, fruit and snacks - and use tea tree oil on any small blemishes that might appear
Marie Fe's top five skincare tips for travel
1. Try as best as you can to get a good night sleep, this means turning off all devices one hour before going to bed. The artificial light is really disruptive to your sleep pattern.
2. Don't eat the airport food, most airport food is processed and full of sugar. Try to bring some fruits, nuts and seeds to snack on. If you can't bring anything a 10-20 hour water fast is a great way to let your stomach cleanse itself.
3. Use tea tree oil on those little pimples that do find their way through.
4. Drink water!
5. If you're having trouble with your skin, try reducing your gluten intake and see if it helps.
'On the days where I notice my skin isn't quite as clear and bright as usual, I can almost guarantee that I haven't drank enough water. This is my biggest weakness and something I need to try to remember more every day. So drink more water, five big cups a day is what I aim for.'
While she doesn't over-complicate her skincare routine, there are a few products she swears by - particularly when, after coming off birth control, she found her hormones were 'all over the place'.
'Just quickly before I get into which products I use, I want to share an awesome tip that I've learnt just recently. I found an app called "codecheck" which I use to scan the barcodes of all the skin care products I buy. This app will tell you exactly what ingredients are in the products and whether or not they are harmful to your health and skin. In my opinion the products that are the most natural are always the best,' she said.
'I really love the brand HelloBody, all their products are completely natural and there brand has a great environmentally conscious ethos. I use these products daily for photo shoots and to keep my skin looking healthy and hydrated through all the flights, airports and travel in general.'
She'll use the Coco Fresh Face Cleansing Foam morning and night to cleanse her skin, the Coco Daily Face Lotion in the morning before putting on her makeup, the Coco Soft Detox Night Lotion after she cleans her face before bed and the Coco Body Butter when she gets out of a shower.
This natural approach to health is something Elise Cook (pictured), who lives in Australia, also follows religiously

In a recent blog post on her website 'Down The Rabbit Hole', the stunning blonde said she'd been using natural and organic products for the past 18 months alongside her husband Domenic Palumbo to keep her skin in check.
'For a long while, Dom and I have been very conscious of what we are putting into our bodies. It started for us when Dom discovered he was intolerant to wheat, with particularly bad reactions to highly processed wheat,' she said.

Elise uses makeup products from Inika and Eye of Horus if she's wanting to dress up, as well as sunscreen every day.

Just like Marie, Elise also believes in the power of Vitamin D and - while she's cautious of the sun - argues that we need to maintain a healthy relationship with being outdoors as well.
Elise Cook's top four skincare tips for travel
1. Drink lots of pure and filtered water. You've heard it before, here's another reminder.
2. Get your pre and probiotics. I love incorporating probiotics like live fermented kimchi and sauerkraut (love Kehoes Kitchen), Coconut Yogurt (we love COYO as it's lowest in sugar), or Kombucha (we always try and find Remedy Kombucha as it has almost no sugar - so many brands add sugar back in so be cautious).
3. Try to add collagen into your diet. Collagen is what our skin, nails and hair needs to remain youthful, strong and glowing. It is missing from most modern diets, but an easy way to add it in is with some collegen powder that you add to your water, smoothie or coffee, or consuming bone broth regularly.
4. Choose organic, in season produce whenever possible. What we get from the vegetables we eat, the nutrients and the vitamins, is completely dependent on the soil it has grown in. You want to know that the soil is rich and thriving, and that no nasties or pesticides have been sprayed onto what your eating or the soil it has grown in.
