a list of names from star wars and their cultural origin (just so we're clear that these names aren't actually funky sci-fi names that Lucas and Co. made up, but names that come from actual irl peoples and cultures and were left mostly uncredited read: stolen)
padmé; from padma, or lotus flower, another name/symbol of the hindu goddess lakshmi
pooja; (padmé's niece) means 'prayer' or 'an act of worship', usually associated with hinduism
ahsoka; most likely inspired by the indian emperor ashoka
aayla; a turkish muslim name which means 'a ring of light around the moon'
barriss; turkish in origin, means "peace"
smhi; most likely a form of the name lakshmi, a hindu goddess
shaak ti; from the name 'shakti', an Indian name which means "energy"
depa; obviously from the words 'deepa' which means "light/lamp"
yoda; possibly from the punjabi word 'yoddha', which means "warrior"
jamillia; from 'jamilla/jameela', a Muslim name which means "beautiful"
tatooine (planet); literally an actual city in tunisia
mustafar (planet); from the arabic word 'mustafa', meaning "chosen one". note the symbolism that darth vader made it his home

Hi! Once you get this you have to say five things you like about yourself, publicly, then send this to ten of your favourite followers (non-negotiable) SPREAD POSITIVITY 💌
This is so lovely, Prose! Thanks for sending my way. :)
1) I like that I’ve started working out again and have been taking it seriously
2) I like that I finally started camping (only recently in the last five years), but it has changed my perspective on nature and enjoying this awesome planet
3) I like that I don’t take myself too seriously
4) I like the fact that I find it meditative to cook meals at home (I think my fiancée likes that about me, too lol)
5) I like that I can spend hours in silence and be comfortable with that

A source who is allegedly close to JJ Abrams just released the following details
I’m summing this up very briefly. If you want to read the full thing look at the original reddit post. This talks about what JJ’s cut of the movie looks like
-JJ Abrams original cut was 3 hours and 2 minutes long. Disney published the final cut in November and changed multiple thing without JJ’s permission or blessing. Musical changes were made, and things were edited out and stitched together like “scotch tape”
- there were four extra scenes with Rose that JJ wanted in the movie. Two involving Rey, and two more involving Leia. Disney said these scenes were too “risky”
- Jannah is confirmed Lando’s daughter
- Finn is confirmed force sensitive. He even gets to say it out loud! Uses the force on accident to open a door on the star destroyer. Disney changed this to a cgi BB-8 in the final cut.
- Rey was always meant to be a palparine, Ben was always supposed to be redeemed. And Ben was always supposed to die (the source states that they did not see the very first draft so Ben possibly might’ve survived that draft, but every other draft after he is always supposed to die)
- JJ didn’t want to make kylo and Rey kiss. But they did hug and speak to eachpther for over two minutes of screen time after Rey is resurrected.
- JJ wanted FinnPoe to happen. But Disney said NO. Plain and simple unfortunately.
- kylo and Rey each get many more scenes devoted to them figuring themselves out (Ben being redeemed and Rey figuring out she’s a Palpatine) The source praises Adams acting in these scenes.
- the force ghosts were supposed to BE THERE with Rey when she went against Palpatine. Samuel L Jackson, Hayden Christenson, and Ewan Mcgreggor were all on set and in costume to film the scene. Disney cut this and opted for voice overs instead
This isn’t even all of it, but these details seemed the most interesting
