YOU WON'T KNOW UNLESS YOU TRY
everything is relative.
and the definition of possible and impossible (i must say subjective one) depends on you.
education, traditions, society and all this collective memory build barriers between your dreams and their achievement.
don't be afraid and give yourself a favour to try and experience.
unfasten your seatbelt and fly!

BELIEVE ME I AM AN ARTIST
Yesterday I had a pleasant introduction into Adrian Paci's world.
Albanian artist expresses himself using different supports, videos, installations, photography, paintings. His work is defined by social impact of exile he experienced but not restricted by it.
I enjoyed greatly directed The Column video, The Encounter video (to fully appreciate it try to make the tour in the space as if you were the part of the performance) and of course his series of Pasolini inspired paintings which made me think about Freddy Tiffou.
Exhibition takes place at Jeu de Paume in Paris until the 12th of May.

LA PASSION DE JEANNE D'ARC
or when the martyr is the greatest victory.
Carl Theodor Dreyer's film is more than Maria Falconetti's unforgettable exalted performance, close-ups, production design and revolutionary cinematography.
It's a sublime masterpiece which can be seen as art. Human and pure in its forms.

DISTRACTED FROM DISTRACTION BY DISTRACTION
to quote T.S. Eliot
we all do have the same problems of receiving too much information, being updated all the time which means being stressed or not truly concentrated
how long can you stay without media, internet, phone?
sometimes it's nice to temporary withdraw these important yet very distracting tools to progress in work or to have a real rest
i have a little break from the mobile phone (no calls, sms, whatsapp, fb, gps, google, photos and tons of other things which i thought are vital as a fresh air)
no panic, no tragedy. i feel like a hero.  in fact it's even pleasant. sun is still shining and butterflies start to enjoy their short but intense life

LIFE IS MOTION
Ancient Greeks loved, respected, celebrated sports. And it's not only about the fit body, competition, discipline or having fun.
I remember myself doing 15 minutes sport breaks while revising for my exams, it always helped to wake myself up, relax and then reconcentrate.
I write this because I want you to try to jump, run, dance, whatever you please, before taking energy drinks, antidepressants and so on. As Russians say, in a healthy body - healthy spirit. Just do it:)

SPRING IN PARIS
at last!
found an interesting expression 'amours de chat'  which stands for the beginning of the spring in japanese haiku traditions
so stop reading this and run to get hugged by the sun just like cats do and have a petal shower somewhere in the parc
xoxo

Have you ever thought that pain is just the opposite of pleasure?
Painful pleasure. Plaisurable pain.
Maybe that's why melancholia is dangerous and difficult to get rid of. This kind of sadistic pleasure is easier to reach and probably artistically more productive.
The painting above is Guido Reni's Saint Sebastian. Beautiful and suffering.
PS Must say this saint is the perfect excuse to exercise on male body, young and delicate, without being compromised by the church.

'The sound of the ticking was the ceaseless repetition of the words - ever, never; ever, never. (...) ever to have the conscience upbraid one, the memory enrage, the mind filled with darkness and despair, never to escape.'
James Joyce 'Portrait of the Artist'.

'I love you, and because I love you I would sooner have you hate me for telling you the truth than adore me for telling you lies'. Pietro Aretino.
Well, yes, very romantic and idealistic. But I am not still quite sure.
The naked truth sometimes doesn't work if people can't or are not able to understand/believe. In this extreme case I prefer just not to mention.
And then were is the line between the lies and a good imagination?)) Hello, Vreeland!
To sum up, the first and the most important thing to do is to NEVER LIE TO YOURSELF!
Very often this is the major reason of one's problems.
City Island, 2009, starring Andy Garcia, Julianna MarguLIES, Emily Mortimer, Steven Strait, Ezra Miller and others, is a very good illustration of such situation.
I recommend it to watch because it's funny, comedy/drama balanced and Garcia's performance is great!

'I dreamed I was a butterfly, flitting around in the sky; then I awoke. Now I wonder: Am I a man who dreamt of being a butterfly, or am I a butterfly dreaming that I am a man?'
