Characterization

Adelina Amouteru - the protagonist of young Elites. She was introduced as the daughter of Martino Amouteru and a sister of Violetta Amouteru. She is also a victim of the blood fever and gained the ability to create and manipulate illusions. In the first chapter, she accidentally killed her father which made her more aggressive. Adelina is somehow revengeful and still can't control her power.

Martino Amoutero - father of Adelina. He is a manipulative, selfish and ruthless father as depicted in the story. Since the blood fever attacked their city, martino have started losing their business. Due to this, he blamed Adelina, her malfetto daughter for his loss.

Violetta Amoutero - sister of Adelina. As depicted in the story, she is a lovable daughter and sister. Adelina envies her for having her father's attention.

Teren Santoro - known as the Leader of Inquisition Axis. He is also known for being cruel, sadistic and unforgivable when it comes to malfettos. Teren devotes himself completely to the queen.

Enzo Valenciano - known as the Reaper and the Leader of Dagger Society. He is also the former crowned prince of Kenettra. Enzo forms the Dagger Society to avenge the throne he lost due to the queen, his sister that disposed him the moment he was found marked by the bloodfever. Just like adelina, enzo is also vengeful and has the ability to control, manipulate and generate fire.

Raffaele Laurent Bessette - known as the Messenger of the Dagger Society and was introduced as a consort. He is also a malfetto like the others. In addition, he's known for having the ability to sense threads of energy from other Elites and people.

Monday, 09/24

It was Adelina's first time to see Estenzia in a wide view. She noticed the difference between Eztenzia and her home. In Estenzia, she sees narrow streets, colorful flowers and vines. She also noticed the towering monuments and hundreds of ships. Adelina can't explain how amazed she was by the view. She even saw a balira, an enormous bird which resembles the ocean.

Tuesday, 09/25

After appreciating the view, adelina's excitement wanes. Raffaele said that Estenzia, a once beautiful place is no longer admired. When Estenzia was attacked by the blood fever, the place and the people suffered. Trade was down and the city grew poorer. The Inquisition turns a blind eye and the place has become a malfetto killing spree. Malfettos were killed one by one and no one dares to bat an eyelash.

Wednesday, 09/26

Raffaele and Adelina continued their way. When they finally came into a room, adelina noticed a table in the middle. Rafaelle opened a drawer and took out several stones.

As stated by raffaele, these stones or gems will call to the specific type of energy that flows within you. One stone for each of the gods and angels. It was said that gems represent where the god's hand touched the earth during creation.

Thursday, 09/27

Adelina is a bit aftaid of what will happen. Raffaelle told Adelina that by those gems, he will find out of who she really is and her specific energy that connects to the world. He also told Adelina to not be alarmed for she will feel something very strange and unusual. He then placed the stones and stepped back.

Adelina tried to focus and suddenly five stones started to lit up. Again, adelina found her concentration and tons of memories rushed through her. It was concluded that she's aligned to power and ambition; truth in oneself, knowledge and curiosity; passion and compassion in oneself; and lastly darkness in oneself.

Monday, 9/17

On the next day, adelina woke up from the voices outside her room. The speakers were Enzo and the maid. They were talking about Adelina's whatabouts and what to do with her. Enzo decided that Adelina should now be introduced to Rafaelle.

Tuesday, 9/18

When Adelina was finally ready. The two, (adelina and the maid) made their way into Rafaelle's location. As they walked through the hall, she noticed a double door with an image of the god of love and goddess of properity, locked in an intimate embrace, which made adelina conclude that the way they're heading was to a brothel.

Wednesday, 9/19

Rafaelle as viewed by Adelina, is a beautiful boy that would make anyone speechless by just merely seeing him. Adelina described him as a prim and proper man and also...forbidden. She also noticed his mark, above his eyes. After appreciating Rafaelle's appearance, adelina was distracted by a man lying on the bed.

Thursday, 9/20

Adelina thought that Rafaelle was the client, but was proved wrong. It turns out that Rafaelle was the consort. A beautiful consort.

On the other hand, Raffaele disagreed in calling the place a brothel, instead he call it as a pleasure court.

Monday, 9/10

Similarly, after Enzo told his story, adelina told hers.

Enzo told adelina how many people were affected by the fever and that some made their presence known, while some were killed by the Inquisitors. Enzo is the leader of the Dagger Society, a group of young elites who seek out others before the Inquisitors could. In addition, the king uses the malfettos as an excuse of his poor ruling.

Tuesday, 9/11

In this chapter, adelina found out that Enzo Valenciano, was the marked prince, who was expelled because its negative effect to their royal family.

Likkewise, enzo told Adelina what he planned to do: it is to fight, to seize the thrown, and to embellish their flaws.

Wednesday, 9/12

Meanwhile in the palace, the Queen of Kenettra was walking alone and just by one swift, she's now in the hands of Teren Santoro. Teren showed her affection to the queen by holding her and brushing his lips into her skin. It can be depicted in here that they are having an affair behind the king's back.

Nevertheless, the king was also having a lot of mistresses, which is not new for the queen. The queen have already known of who the king really was. The king of Kenettra is irresponsible, arrogant and disrespectful. He was no king. Moreover, he was a duke the queen was forced to marry.

Thursday, 9/13

Adelina never left her chamber, for a week. Sometimes, enzo and the maid check up on her just to give her her food. It became a cycle for a week, but when the Prosperiday, she could now freely move her whole body with the bandages off. Adelina always study her reflection evey night, and sees how many weight she've lost. She also noticed how much of a stranger she is now.

The boy who showed up is none other than, the Reaper, Enzo Valenciano. He creates fire with his bare hands and has a great fighting skills.

Adelina was stunned with the boy. Enzo slayed all the Inquisitors he saw by using his power and even unchained adelina's hands. In the end, enzo saved adelina from the burning.

Tuesday, 9/04

Adelina had a dream about her sister that happened before in the past. They were playing, when suddenly Violetta, her sister saw a weak and dying butterfly. Violetta wanted to save it, but Adelina on the other hand said that the butterfly was beyond saving. Her father came and did what he always do... Trigger adelina until she shows up her power; trying to see if it can cost him anything.

Wednesday, 9/05

After the flashback dream, adelina woke up with curiosity, and unaware of where she is. Then, everything rushed back into her mind. The iron stake, inquisitors, escape and etc.

Adelina heard a knock outside the door, and ordered it to come in. There, she found a young maid who took care of her and have brought food. Before she could leave, a boy stepped inside.

Thursday, 9/06

Adelina was a bit tensed when Enzo came to visit her. Adelina told him that she was called 'kami gourgaem' by her mother before, which means little wolf. Enzo also asked if she'd already used her power even before the burning. The boy also narrated on how he accumulated his power. It started with the blood fever and a year after, he couldn't be able to control his body's warmth. From there, he could now release flames in his hands.

That was weeks ago.

Everytime she wakes up from a dream, she always sees her father's ghost, laughing and accompanying her. It seems like he's always there to provoke her and tells her that she is worthless. Also, she often hear voices mumbling about how disgraceful she is.

Tuesday, 8/28

In this chapter, enzo's background was introduced.

Enzo Valenciano is the same as Adelina. Marked, feared and a malfetto. But unlike Adelina, Enzo is a well-known person in Kenettra.

Back to, Adelina. Adelina's trial has finally came. Guards gave her her last meal and insulted her of what she can do. An illusion. She tried her best to summon her powers, yet none of it came.

Hours pass and two inquisitors came to grab her and dragged her to her feet. As the sky came into view, she saw lots of people booing and shouting. Some throw rotten fruits, and some yells demon. Then abruptly the inquisitors grabbed her to the platform, and there, a man was seen.

Wednesday, 8/29

Teren Santoro is the Lead Inquisitor of Kenettra. He has this very pale blue that the seem colorless in the light. Teren has madness in his eyes, something violent and strange that makes adelina uncomfortable. Teren came to watch the death of Adelina and remind the people that the 'Young Elites' are dangerous and demonic. He also promises the people that he would punish every malfetto that he would see. Finally, he started burning Adelina's platform.

On the other hand, Adelina struggled to get out of the chains. She cried and prayed for her way to escape. But suddenly, the flames freeze.

Thursday 8/30

Just like what happened with his father, an illusion took place. The flames freeze and the clouds turn black. In the midst of darkness, there were a bunch of locusts appeared and the inquisitors swing their swords uselessly at them.

An inquisitor tried to come at her, but a boy suddenly showed up.

MONDAY, 8/20

Before Adelina left, she thought about the welfare of her sister, but didn’t do anything because she knew that her sister won’t come with her. Violetta has always been the good girl and she didn’t choose any of that.

When Adelina finally decided to go, she walked to the window and reached the balcony, and from there, she jumped. Her legs were a little bit jelly because of the impact and under the rain, she lied in the ground for a moment.

Adelina continued with her plan and ran to her stallion. She pushed it hard and eventually reached the edge of Dalia’s marketplace. Suddenly, she heard it. The sound of galloping hooves behind her. Even though it’s raining heavily, she could hear it and there’s only one thing that comes in her mind.

TUESDAY, 8/21

“Father.” is what she first thought. Before she could think of anything else, she saw him. She’d never seen such anger on his face before. She hurriedly went back to her stallion, but she wasn’t that fast enough. Her father held her abruptly and forced her to go home. Adelina disagreed and had her hair pulled by his father. Adelina suffered a lot in his father’s palm. She screamed and screamed hoping that other people could hear her. And there was something that ignited her in his father statement, “You’re going in the morning, and so help me, I’ll kill you before you can ruin this deal”. A rush of energy passed through her. Adelina could now see everything. Everything froze, an illusion of towering black shapes surged up from the earth, their bodies crooked and jolting, their eyes were bloody and is directed to his father.

Adelina’s father was horrified. She saw the reaction of his father which triggered her confidence and power. Adelina will rise above everything and she will have a great power that no one would dare to hurt her again whispers the phantom.The phantoms moved closer to him. He screamed and screamed. Her father’s scream was the only thing that could be heard in that place. And then suddenly, he smashed into his horse, and fell into the mud. The horse shrieked, and swayed on its legs, and then down came its hooves onto his father’s chest.

WEDNESDAY, 8/22

Her father’s screams were abruptly stopped. The phantoms vanished quickly, and the rain grew heavy, lightning is scattered in the sky and the thunder shook herself. Adelina couldn’t stand. Her body was trembling at the sight of his father lying a few feet away that her mind became in chaos. “I didn’t do it.” She said like she’s trying to convince herself. But that was a lie. She knew it. She already knew it. She killed her father.

Adelina didn’t know how many hours she stayed in there but as soon as she realized, she stood back in her feet, picked her things, and went for her stallion. Finally, she decided to leave.

She bartered her stolen silverware, so she could eat. The girl rode for days. Adelina planned to reach Estenzia, a city large enough to be teeming with malfettos where no one could find her and no one can hurt her.

THURSDAY, 8/23

Along the road, adelina felt exhausted and blacked out. A woman dressed with a robe found her and took her to rest in their barn. Adelina felt assured with the woman’s action that she immediately felt unconscious.

Adelina woke up from rough hands that were dragging him that startled her. She saw Violetta beside the king’s peacekeepers. It turns out that her sister have betrayed her.

Violetta was fooled by the Inquisitors that if she spoke for her, they would let her sister go. Violetta asked for Adelina’s forgiveness, but adelina neglected her.

TUESDAY, 8/14

Adelina Amouteru is a malfeto. In the beginning of the story, Adelina stated that she is in a cell and that she is to be executed in the next day. While she was counting the days she stayed in the cell. She had a flashback of why she ended up in the hands of the Inquisitors. Adelina's life became flawed when the blood fever started. Her mother died and her sister was also infected.

Fortunately, her sister wasn't marked. Malfettos were hated and feared. That's why when people found out adelina was marked, her father, treated her differently.

The only thing that pushed me to read the Young Elites Series was because of the Legend Series written also by Marie Lu. The two series catched my interest due to their genres. I really hope Young Elites Series would be as good or much better than the previous series.

WEDNESDAY, 8/15

Her flashbacks continued in a stormy night at their home. She was gently listening to what his father and his guest are talking about.

It is then revealed that the man negotiating with his father was planning to make her as a mistress. The man (guest) gave his father golds in exchange for Adelina. Because of this, Adelina have finally decided to leave his abusive father.

THURSDAY, 8/16

Adelina took everything she could to survive. She stole every thing that could be sold in the market to buy her own food. As she plans to escape, her sister Violet has woken up and tried to stop her. However, adelina insisted to go.

“The revolutionary camera that adapts like the human eye”, is how Samsung define the newest Samsung Galaxy S9 Smarthphone. The smartphone is believed to be coming out this March 16, 2018. It is known to be the most powerful android phone out. But at first glance, you’ll have a hard time distinguishing Samsung Galaxy S9 from Galaxy S8. This is because the smartphone’s overall design is very similar with the Galaxy S8 that was released last year. The price is also quite expensive compared to Galaxy S8.

According to Matt Swider (2018), Galaxy S9 Smarthphone is 148x69x8.5mm, 163g, has 5.8in QHD+ Super AMOLED curved display, Samsung 10nm Exynos 9810 CPU (4x 2.7GHz, 4x 1.9GHz) and has 4GB RAM. It also has 64GB storage with microSD expansion up to 400GB. The available colors are Midnight Black, Titanium Gray, and Coral Blue, Lilac Purple variants. The said specs are quite good and convincing but the battery is another story. The smartphone require at least two charges to make it through the day. On the other hand, the phone is capable of fast charge via a USB Type-C port. Plus, you can also invest in a wireless charger, to power it up without hassles. Of course it also contains many new features which everyone would surely love. According to Samsung Website, the category-defining Dual Aperture lens of the Samsung Galaxy S9 Smartphone adapts like the human eye and can be able to automatically switch between various lighting conditions—making your photos look greater in daylight or even nighttime. This smartphone is perfect for people who has a hobby of taking pictures. It could also apply to people who loves to travel. It also has the Super Slow-mo wherein the camera slows down time to take funny or epic photos. You can set the video to music or turn it into a GIF, and share it with a single tap. The camera can also turn you into an emoji. This feature is actually fun and entertaining. You can use this whenever you’re bored or need something to do.

Samsung Galaxy S9 Smarthphone is such a good phone that it could make other Iphone users think about switching to android. It has same features and has also much greater feature compared to Iphone. However, Galaxy S9 can't be a meaningful upgrade to any S8 user. Because the specs and features are almost the same. There may have features that has been added. But the design and other specs are still the same. Plus, the Galaxy S9 is quite expensive.

2.2 Waste Segregation is widely used in the world, more importantly to public and private schools. Despite of having trash bins and cans, students are still not aware with proper waste segregation which results to unsegregated wastes that may lead to more numerous problems.

2.3 With waste segregation, recycled materials will be obtained. Recycling is another way to lessen environmental problems. Improper segregation caused mixing landfill which results to a toxic release in the ground and contamination of ground water.

               Nowadays, Protein-Energy Malnutrition (PEM) remains one of the major deficiency disorders in the Philippines. The latest round of National Nutrition Survey conducted in 2013 found that there are two million underweight Filipino children aged 0-5 years old; 3.1 million are too short for their age and around 778,000 are thin or wasted (FNRI-DOST, 2015). Major functions of protein are building material for body tissues; maintain proper fluid balance in and out of the cells; major component of hormones, enzymes and antibodies; acts as transporters carrying nutrients to all parts of the body and provide energy and glucose for the brain when carbohydrate is unavailable for that purpose (Staywell, 2016).

               Juice is a liquid drink that naturally contains fruits and vegetables. It can also refer to liquids that are flavored with other biological food sources such as meat and seafood (Wikipedia).  Juice nowadays is an alternate of water and soft drink. Soft drink is marketable but it is prohibited in short according to the DepEd Order No. 8, series of 2007. It states that "the sale of carbonated drinks, sugar-based synthetic or artificially flavored juices, junk foods and any food product that may be detrimental to a child's health... is prohibited."

                Calamansi (Citrofortunella microcarpa) juice is known to be loaded with essential vitamins and minerals. It is packed with ascorbic acid or Vitamin C.

                Weaver ants (Oecophylla smaragdina) on the other hand are rich in protein of the highest quality and they can easily replace any traditional meat. Weaver ants can reduce the malnutrition in population of world because it has low fat with high protein and fiber (Inquisitr, 2013).

                Since weaver ants in the community are nuisance especially in harvesting the goods such as fruits, the researchers decided to make the Weaver Ants as an additive in making Calamansi Fruit Juice.

Game software has more customers regardless of having a more limited market. This is because, people usually buy a new produced game that catches their interest.

An organization will acquire a competitive advantage to outperform its leading competitors by having a strategic management which indicates ability to identify objects, perform the set goals, and generate alternative scenarios to eliminate business risks and setbacks. 

The most common forms of advertising in earlier times were posters, flyers, and street signs.Similarly, commercials regarding different product were in black and white. While, technology and business’ means of advertising are at limits.
