Revisiting...
How’s it going? For those that haven’t had the opportunity to get to know me, I’m Jason. As you’re reading this, I’m flying like an angel in the city of dreams. Hwvr, this blog isn’t as much about me as it may seem. I’m just a knight on a board of pawns, building up His kingdom…

That statement was the precursor to my summer in NYC. As I revisit memories, reminisce this experience alongside me. Note: the chronological order of posts has been reversed, as to relive this stint fluently. Also, many posts have, since, been edited and updated.
For those from either side of the States that have yet to visit the other, take a walk, vicariously, in one of the six pair of shoes that I brought along to NYC, including the black & white Chucks on my feet.
With Love,
Californian Brooklynite

What is there to eat in NYC? Well, on nearly every corner, there's a pizzeria oven roasting their rendition of the renowned pies. Slices that outsize the plate, thicker than a Snickers (unless you're in BK). Hungry? Why wait...

Yea, I'm out in Bed Stuy, home of that boy Biggie
This is the brownstone that I call home. In the heart of Brooklyn, the Bedford Stuyvesant brownstones were modeled after Harlem homes, intendeding to replicate the northern Manhattan community. IMO, Bed Stuy--and Brooklyn, for that matter--is better. Bed Stuy is, commonly, renowned for those that made it out: from Aaliyah to Lil Kim, from Biggie to Jay-Z, as well as the comedian, Chris Rock, whom narrates a sitcom about, once, growing up in the city of hard knocks. In addition to good food, culture, and accessibility to the City, these are the treasures that I cherish.

The Brooklyn Bridge, spanning the distance to Manhattan since 1875. Surprisingly, it was a cakewalk, no Diddy. Take that!

Street vending is a common hustle path that many foreigners pursue when scheming their American dream. As depicted, these prices are fair. However, travel a few blocks up or down the quality of the community and the price of the VERY product will surely reflect the environment. Don't be surprised if you find yourself paying the price of a case for an ice cold bottle of water on a frequently humid day or walking down the street for some cheaper meat.
Opportunity cost, supply, demand.

One month from today will mark the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy. Although the victims are long gone, they were not forgotten. The 9/11 Memorial aims to reflect, reconnect, and restore the monument, showcasing the Freedom Tower, the newest peak of NYC.
A later post will include video footage of the scenic environment.
