Part 206 of my bakery “enemies” au!

THE END!! I can't believe I finally completed this. When I first started this comic, I had no idea that it would end up being this long. A little over 3 years and over 200 parts, so around 2000 panels. (My folder that holds all my files relating to this comic is 3 GB with 2,017 items....). I honestly can't believe that I managed to stick around to the end of this. Thank you all so much for the support, I never imagined that so many people would care about this comic when I started it!

Of course, there are still some loose threads. The kwamis and Nathalie for example, but the core of this series has always been about the emotional conflict between Marinette and Adrien, and that has been resolved. I have some epilogue ideas to cover those loose ends, but this comic has already taken so much of my time and I'm not sure I want to promise that I'll get around to it. ... But who knows. Maybe!

For now, Adrien and Marinette will get some long-deserved rest.

the one thing i wish is that Ladybug and Chat Noir had reasons to go "undercover" places. as civilians. where they are both staking out the same location but don't know each other's identities so it's always a disaster. they either get distracted because adrien and marinette bump into each other in strange places and end up having long awkward conversations instead of working, or, in adrienette-never-met sort of AUs, somehow end up suspecting each other every time. one time adrien disguises himself as a woman because he can't risk being seen as Adrien Agreste™ and marinette thinks she's met The Most Beautiful Woman in the World and has a bi panic until she finds out it was Chat fucking Noir and she's fucking pissed

#big fan of 'chat noir swears - adrien doesn't'#but also home school boy definitely sounds untried when he starts cussing b/c there is a learning curve to it #this manifests as an audible delay in the seconds between him loosing his ice cream scoop and saying 'fuck'#(which is when nino faints)#maybe the mental gears are turning and the consequences are being weighed in that delay - but mostly you see #its not the vocab he reaches for on impulse and it takes time to boot up and really stretch that muscle #it gets to a point where adrien will walk into a door #and the whole classroom goes deathly silent #everyone waits #'... shit' he says (too many seconds after it would be normal to react)#everyone roars with approval or disappoint (alix has been taking bets)#this exercise slowly peters out as his lexicon expands and it becomes more naturalistic #chat on the other hand... it's just second nature to him: day 1 #plagg swears all the time and chat is totally in another element. its very much like code switching for him #however if he ever actually put much thought into this disparity it wouldn't really make sense and everything would get existential

favorite underrated fact about Adrien that the fandom sleeps on is that he knows Morse code. like he just knows Morse code to a practically professional level. can we talk about this. there is no way that Gabriel forced his son to take Morse code lessons. That is absolutely 100% a “Adrien was lonely and bored alone in his room at age 12 so he went on the internet and decided to intensively teach himself a telecommunication method out of boredom” situation. I feel like this fact has impacted my impression on his character far more than I’ve ever admitted
