Aria: Well, I don’t have this figured out. My brain is melting out my ears…

Madeleine: The world… doesn’t work like that. You can’t just go around doing only things that make you happy.

Aria: Well, sure, but you have to do some things that make you happy! Like today! Eating sweets with my friends makes me happy, so I try and do it as often as possible.

Madeleine: No wonder you’re so bubbly all the time. You really do have it all figured out.

Madeleine: Oh. I guess… I mean, I do love baking. And chemistry. So something with that? I don’t know what, but those are my favourite subjects. Not that they’re really similar, or anything.

Aria: But baking is totally a science! I don’t know if food scientist is a thing, but I’m sure there’s a way…

Madeleine: It’s not a big deal, though. I mean, I have the grades to get into a medical school, and it’d be a great career.

Aria: But… would you be happy?

Madeleine: I… I mean I’ll probably be a doctor.

Aria: That didn’t answer the question.

Madeleine: It absolutely did.

Aria: I asked what you want to be, not what you’re probably going to be.

[lazarish]

Aria: So… what do you wanna be when you grow up?

Madeleine: Really? They stop asking you that in kindergarten.

Aria: They stop asking it that way in kindergarten. Now it’s “career planning” or whatever. But I like my way better.

[lazarish]

Aria: And you’re sure it’s okay to take up the table for the whole day? I don’t want your mom losing business…

Madeleine: Nah, it’s fine. Mom doesn’t mind as long as it’s for school work. And you are planning on doing work, right?

Aria: Yes ma’am! Absolutely! I’m gonna be completely focused on this… uh… trigonometry…?

Madeleine: This is going to be a long day, huh.

Madeleine: Geez, that girl…

Madeleine: I could almost get used to her…

Madeleine: I’m… I’m sorry I’ve been so rude. I just- I don’t know how to… do this.

Aria: Hey, it’s okay! I mean, I talk enough for the both of us. But… I’d also really like to listen, if you’re ever up for it.

Madeleine: You really aren’t going to give up, are you?

Aria: Nope!~ See you tomorrow!

Madeleine: You’re… doing that wrong.

Aria: Oh! Whoops! Sorry, I didn’t mean to distract you-

Madeleine: No, it’s… see, you have to do this part first, then you work through the formula…

Aria: Oh, yeah, that makes a lot more sense…

Madeleine: …

Aria: Ah, we’re back to that. Okay! Well, the offer’s still open!

Aria: Hey, Madeleine?

Madeleine: Huh?

Aria: If the weather’s better tomorrow, will you sit with me at lunch? I want to do some studying, so I won’t bother you or anything! It’d just be nice to sit with someone else who’s cramming~
