Ghost Wilbur AU- go

ok so.

SPOILERS FOR TODAYS STREAM BELOW

wilbur is killed by phil after the bombs go off. its more impactful than it was during the stream; as if the world stopped for a mere moment. techno is the first to register wilbur’s death, lashing out at phil and demanding he explain what the FUCK he’s done. he summons the withers almost immediately after and begins to fight his way through everyone from the other side of the trench. techno slips away from his mass chaos after his withers are spawned and tnt is detonated. he lives to fight another day while continuing the beliefs of wilbur in his name rather than... whatever happened there. rather than dream and his boys aligning themselves with techno’s anarchy, it’s techno against the world at least in his mind.

meanwhile, wilbur is dead. he looks over the mass destruction of the world, watches as techno continues his legacy, and admittedly becomes conflicted. he’s dead now; struggling to comprehend what had happened. his DAD fucking killed him- which is what he wanted but still, that’s a lot to take in. he watches as techno stands in front of tommy and tubbo and the new l’manburgians and thinks... techno is right. no hero has ever had it easy. he decides he has one last thing to do as the villain in this story— make sure techno truly finishes the job. wilbur haunts tommy, only making tommy’s ptsd worse. he sees wilbur everywhere, whether it be literally or metaphorically. within the woods set ablaze, within the rubble they’re rebuilding upon, or right in front of his face as a transparent form. 

tommy struggles. he tries his best to function as a leader within the new l’manburg and to help tubbo recover from it all... but it’s hard when he sees wilbur in everything. everywhere. tubbo tries his best to support tommy in return, but god its hard with everything that’s happened. 

somehow, someway, wilbur has gotten the last laugh. the traitor truly has won and chaos reigns supreme even in the end. rebuilding l’manburg needed to be prevented. after all, it was never meant to be. 

also dont even get me STARTED on phil’s mentality after killing his son.
