The civilizations I'm dealing with are fucked up and weird. Multiversal societies with histories stretching so far back that they have their own RUINS.

Interesting. Very handy.

I can slot enchantments into, same as casting a spell into anything else and anchoring it with a power source, but like, this thing lets you erase the enchantments and put new ones in.

It's accidentally very sophisticated. Or it will be, if I can figure out how to make sense of this prom-night accident of a staff.

Interesting thing about this job is that the weirdo duke who owns the scroll, she does wanna trade it.

I don't quite have anything of relevant value to her, but like, she wants something I think I can reasonably get my hands on.

I don't do a lot of tomb raiding, though, so this'll be tricky.

To any people out there who think they might want to transition but you're afraid you're not trans: you're trans.

Sycamore's old boss had a laundry list of books and intel from other mediums the univeristy was tasking him to find, lots of them dangerous in the hands of soulless r&d dickheads.

Every book on the list has been hotly contested. That's why we hired Big Red. Syc sends her out to get the most dangerous grabs, and a bunch of the rest of us for the less hot items.

I'm after, well, less of a book than a scroll, technically, but apparently it's a big one, and it's in somone's possession already. Syc said that, "[I] know how to ask the right questions, and won't get as many people killed." I have a few plans on how to stick to these guidelines.

MR. CAT, HANDS, AND FACE

MR. CAT is a tall figure in a red suit. He talks in a simple "meow", which can mean a single word or an entire novel.

HANDS is a creature with the body of a cat, but with the hands of a human. She speaks in sign language.

FACE is a being with the body of a cat, but the face of a human. They speak... backwards.

You know the best part of having Hound? Despite being a spirit, and a fighter, his favorite thing to do is lie around with me like an old dog.
