For only a brief moment, Loki's face showed a listening curiosity. He then broke into a wide smile, chuckling at how this illusion described Thanos. When he caught himself, stowing the laughter, he looked to the door. "I do not expect they should stop Thanos. Dut, they may cause him an inconvenience. When they begin die, I know it is time to take my plans elsewhere. Thanos can hunt me to his heart's content, but he will be chasing a shadow until the day he finds himself confronted with a power he cannot best."
Finally, he stood. He waved a hand over the bindings before they hit the floor, stowing them away in some separate dimension for now. He squared his shoulders and lifted his chin some, no dignity lost in meeting a second self here, in a prison cell. However the other might look at him, his pride was unhurt, for he knew his reasons for allowing Thor to bring him back here to Asgard, and this other self only had assumptions.
His smile slid away, listening to the other's proposal. He dreaded the thought of asking this other for help. Though it was Loki who stood before him, and he could be persuaded to aide his other self, if the prize was worth the effort. And if the fun along the way would bring him new reason. For a long moment, he stood there, scrutinizing the words.
"The gauntlet," he finally said, after thinking on what this other self could possibly want from Asgard that was strong enough to defeat Thanos. It did pose the the great obstacle of slipping past the Allfather's gaze. But, that was no trouble for Loki. He could bring Jotuns without detection, bringing his own self, albeit a different self, in would be nothing in comparison. "Am I correct?"
He folded his hands behind his back and leaned his weight on his heels in his confidence. He enjoyed having such leverage, a bargaining chip, and there were so many things he could ask for in return. Not just Thanos' defeat, as the other him needed that just as much as his own self.
"I can bring you into Asgard. All of you, as I would not imagine you would come only as yourself for this task," he spoke smoothly, the smile coming back to his words, though hiding from his features. "Odin will be none the wiser. I do have a request for a returned favor in this deal. When you leave, I am to leave along side you. If we are to partner our strength, I want to stay near your possession of the gauntlet until Thanos is gone. Only then will I, too, be gone from you."
The Trade | Loki & Loki
He scoffed at that idea—that he could find himself protected anywhere from Thanos. His counterpart obviously had a great deal more respect for the Asgardian warriors than he did. ”While you rot away in this hole picking at old scars, the worlds move forward without you, and the Mad Titan draws ever nearer. He would have his prize, no matter which universe he must claim it.”
At that idea, he actually smirked, because handing himself over to Thanos—a different him, of coursehad always been an idea, but not one he entertained for long. While most of those who wore his face and name were a mere fraction of who he was, a few managed to show their strength.
And he would not keep them as his enemies.
“I have a way to defeat him,” he continued calmly, “but in order to do so, I must cloak myself from the All-Father’s prying eyes. My magic alone is not enough to do so, but the combined efforts of another from an entirely different universe is nothing he ever prepared himself for.”

"I know," Loki responded. He had felt the familiar tingle of illusion as soon as it had formed. How Asgardians never learned. It was a beautiful thing, but it drove him mad that they could be so dense. He removed the cuffs as well, massaging his wrists. The other knew he was here by choice. It was clear in the casual manner of their conversation. He replaced his hands on his knees and looked up at his visitor.
"Eight months," he answered. It was nothing to immortals, but still a decent chunk of time. The long days without food had left him hollow in appearance, and more pale than usual, but not any weaker than when he was at his best. "Though the protection is becoming less convenient for these many hours of solitude."
The Trade | Loki & Loki
He watched his other self for a moment in silence, head tilted as he took note of obvious weaknesses—as he saw them, anyway. It took him a while to speak, catching the other’s gaze. Always he found them in prison, but this one, at least, was here by choice. He could tell that much by the way the muzzle was waved away.
“The guards see you alone, eyes closed, mouth silent,” he assured him. It was a simply illusion, and one that the guards should have know better to protect themselves against.
But the Asgardians never learned.
“How long have you been here?” he questioned.

The Trade | Loki & Loki
Even with gleaming, golden walls, the chill surrounding Loki's cell was prominent enough to tinge the door frame with frost. Inside, in the center of the floor, Loki sat with his legs crossed and one hand on each knee. His eyes were closed, and he looked perfectly serene. Even with the cuffs and muzzle still in place. The top slot on the door opened--there were two, one on the top for the guards, and a second, never opened, on the bottom for food--and a guard looked in. Loki opened one eye, looked directly at the guard, and the slot was closed again.
Loki meditated like this every day, thinking, planning, and recovering from the war he had brought to Midgard. He could have done so anywhere, he supposed, as he was not actually trapped in that cell. For Odin to believe he could not escape with little effort was laughable. He was there by choice. It was the safest place in the nine realms, and if he had angry Chitauri coming for him, he would suffer through being bound in order to have all of Asgard at his defense.
A shift in the atmosphere brought both Loki's eyes to open this time. It was a familiar presence. Too familiar, and had he not met the other not long before, he would have been very confused. Calmly, he brought his hands to his face and removed the muzzle, revealing a coy grin and a freedom to say, "I am not permitted visitors."

I am no child, I have been a king! Do not lecture me on something you know not, you great fool.
Yes, you have proved yourself that is why your persistance to proclaim your powers and seek dominon and rule over others is pathetic! Grow up, Loki.

Aye.
/looks her over, carefully, taking a pause before continuing/
But the resilience against that was something I could not anticipate.
The rightful way of the nine realms… [She scoffed at the mere notion but couldn’t help a smile to form on her lips. Some things would never change, no matter which universe.]

That awkward moment when…
Loki kills his half-dead father and says that Midgardians could save millions in therapy if they just killed people.

I have proved myself enough! It is everyone in Asgard who is blind to what I am capable of. Do not pretend to know me or my motives, Lady Sif.
You need know nothing, you are merely the same as always and wish to prove yourself. So I suppose I am not surprised.

I need to know quite a bit more, but I will search elsewhere for the information.
I fight enough with he of my world. Though do not think that means I will not strike if given reason. Don’t give me any more, I have plenty already.

What has he done? If I am going to be compared, it would be good to know the competition.
