Tsarinas Consorts of Russia {13/16}: Alexandra Feodorovna (born as Princess Charlotte of Prussia).
"Her tender nature and shallow mind replaced principles with sensitivity. Nicholas had a passionate adoration for this frail exquisite creature, placing her in a golden cage of palaces, brilliant balls and handsome courtiers. She adored him and saw only the beautiful and happy. Even Pushkin was touched by her warm effervescence. "I love the empress terribly," he wrote, "despite the fact she's already thirty-five." Her graceful dancing was "like a winged lily" who "quietly weaves and glides." Nicholas appreciated her nature: "God has bestowed upon you such a happy character that it's no merit to love you." Only she could melt the despotic iceberg. When the Winter Palace caught fire, he ordered the firemen to rescue their love letters before anything else. Even after decades of marriage, Nicholas wept when his doctors sent the frail Mouffy to take the sun in Palermo: "Happiness, joy and repose that is what I seek and find in my old Mouffy."

Sisters Alexandra & Dagmar.
"Certainly in her late teen years Alix exuded a happy spirit and tranquil personality. Minnie, three years younger, on the other hand, was already the epitome of high-spirited fun and full of mischief. She would sew the pockets of her brothers' trousers closed so when they would reach to put a small treasure inside, they could not. Minnie would also spend time making special dishes for them, knowing that she had heavily laced her concoctions with salt. She once found a mouse in her bedroom just before going to bed and quickly placed it inside Alix's pillow, waiting in the dark for her sister to scream when the rodent began to move." "Of the two sisters, Minnie was the more adventurous. Alix was always timid outside the home. It was Minnie who proposed the two should dress alike - at least in the same colours and patterns. Alix always aimed to please and readily agreed to Minnie's impulsive ideas. Alix secretly admired Minnie for her sense of fun and her willingness to try new things."
Excerpts from Alix & Minnie: A Royal Trilogy by James-Charles Noonan

The Princess of Wales with Prince Albert Victor, photographed by Jabez Hughes.
Madame Jerichau-Baumann, an artist and the wife of a Danish sculptor, who came to Marlborough House to paint Prince Albert Victor a few months after his birth, describes a pretty scene which illustrates not only the Queen's delight in her firstborn, but her kind thought for the humble mother who was his wet-nurse. A robust young Irishwoman was appointed to that position, and after she had been in the royal nursery for a time, her health began to suffer, and the Princess of Wales quickly divined that 'nurse' was grieving for her own baby boy, and arrangements were made for him to come and see her. Madame Jerichau describes his arrival, dressed in "a fine green coat and a hat with feathers, which accentuated his plain face with low forehead and stumpy nose". The Princess entered the nursery with her own little Albert Victor, and, going up to the the new arrival, said in her sweet way "Oh, how nice he is!" to please his mother, who was radiant with joy. "Then, after sending her away," says Madame Jerichau, "the Princess let the two little boys slide down on the soft rug in front of the fire, and remarked, laughing, to me, "I just want to measure them and see which of the two is bigger. It is mine", she exclaimed, full of triumph, "Eddy is a whole half inch longer, though a fortnight younger!" — The life of Queen Alexandra, Sarah A. Tooley

Group picnic at Lochnagar with the Prince and Princess of Wales, 1868. 🍂
Away, ye gay landscapes, ye gardens of roses!     In you let the minions of luxury rove; Restore me the rocks where the snow-flake reposes,     Though still they are sacred to freedom and love. Yet, Caledonia, beloved are thy mountains,     Round their white summits though elements war; Though cataracts foam 'stead of smooth-flowing fountains,     I sigh for the valley of dark Loch na Garr. - Lord Byron

One of the new enthusiasms of King Edward was for motor cars. He had bought several of these, but as yet he would not allow the Queen to have a car. There was a kind of chivalry in this, an anxiety for her safety, [...] but his decision greatly annoyed Queen Alexandra, who saw many of her female friends travelling about in smart cars while she ambled after them in a carriage. She managed, however, to acquire her delight in speed, for which she was noted, before she was mistress of her own car. When King was away from Marlborough House she used to send out a lady-in-waiting to borrow a car from one of her friends. Members of the Court took a gloomy view of this habit, and wished the King would let her have her own car. Sooner or later, they prophesied, she would borrow 'the wrong chauffeur', and there would be a serious accident. It was, perhaps, this viewpoint which finally persuaded her husband to let her have a car for herself.

“Dearest girl, sweetest and most beloved heart, life without you is the merest whisp of a shadow of a fragment of a dream, an empty isle surrounded by a barren sea. … There is no time for me but that which I share with you, no air but that which I breathe with you, and no love but that which pulses from my heart to yours.”
Laurence Olivier in a letter to Vivien Leigh, c. 1944

Hello, I am Aseel from Gaza. I apologize for what I am about to ask. I have a heavy and exhausted heart. Unfortunately, the situation became difficult after my father injured, and my father's health condition deteriorated
. donation of only 20$ from each person, 20$ will save my family from death in Gaza
I lost part of my family, my home and everything
I do not know whether I will survive or die in this war, but I know that your help will contribute to saving my family from death.

Please report this account for phishing, Aseel's real campaign is below (vetted link). Her family name isn't even Mohammed. They previously pretended to be "Wafaa Mousa", and all links to that fundraiser now lead to the scammer's under Aseel's name.
Fuck you for trying to profit off a genocide.

Grand Duchess Charlotte recreates the photograph of her husband, Prince Félix, and his dog Tschulo in 1976, six years after the Prince's passing.
Text (photo descriptions) from Luxemburger Wort:
(1) The Grand Duchess in her usual place, with her dog Tschulo, who follows her wherever she goes, a living reminder of Prince Félix, who brought him into the house 13 years ago.
(2) Prince Félix by the fireplace, with Tschulo, his dog, who accompanied him at every turn, one of his last joys. Photo taken on his 77th birthday, 28 September 1969.
