She sat up and turned to her sister, Shelby, who was leaning up against the bed frame.. “I wish Mom and Dad were here though.” She couldn’t help but feel like they were paying her school fees, including her rent, to cover up for the fact that they never showed up to anything.  “Oh Nance, I know,” Shelby said, patting her shoulder. “They’d be here if they could.”
