Omegaverse Music
Knot Rock- Alpha centric sex music about sexual relations with Omegas with hazy consent rules, mostly popular in the 1970s and 1980s but had chart success into the 1990s
Omega pop- fluffy, sugary, love and platitudes, bubblegum pop music made to appeal to unmated Omegas and beta females, popular from the late 90s onwards
Omega punk- heavy, hard hitting, tied heavily to Omega Rights Movements, although fairly recent affairs, the oldest bands being from the 80s, the songs are some of the few that emphasise consistent consent and the Omega POV
Soft Rock- a more alpha centric version of the progressive and fluffy songs of the 2000s, popularised by the “in the Heat of the Game” movies
Nova Dancehall- a more traditional reaction to Omega punk by traditionalist Omegas and more rarely Alphas
Knot Country- rough, rocky, but far more traditional in sound and message than Omega punk, Soft Rock, or even Knot Rock in some cases
Pub Rock- like Nova Dancehall, but for Alphas specifically, and older, being from the 70s originally, but revived in the 90s as a reaction to Omega punk and pop, but also as a kinder gentler Knot Rock
Novelty pop Rock- silly nonsense to entertain pups and Omegas, really popular in America in the 1950s and 60s, but mega popular elsewhere in the world throughout time, some getting more than one hit in certain places (like James Blunt’s creepy ass IRL, or Snow Patrol or the Proclaimers, who both got far more mileage than expected in their native UK than in the US, or even Bobby Darin, hit machine in America, forgotten everywhere else)

You know how women's fashion Is generally much more elaborate and varied and diverse than men's fashion. What if. In the omegaverse it was essentially swapped. And alphas typically wore these flashy beautiful ensembles to court mates. Yk like how some male birds look so much more flashy and colorful than their female counterparts of the same species for the same reason. Are you. Are you seeing my vision

You know a think nobody* talks about: omegaverse in TROPICAL PLACES. I see all those warm comfy nests and it's currently around 35°C where I live and the last thing I think someone would want is a warm nest. I need to make a tropical omegaverse post. Maybe I should write omegaverse taking place where I live (I wrote a vampire story and it was the funniest thing I ever wrote).
* nobody as in I just never saw it.

Literally heard a convo at the library where a guy was telling a girl that he’s an omega and the girl telling him that she’s a beta, and my mind just did not automatically connect the context to fraternity pledge classes at all and I just whispered to myself “what the fuck?? What the fuck??”

My gripes with "anti-fujoshi/yaoi" people
Disclaimer: I’m a woman of chinese descent living in Sweden, I don’t personally identify as a fujoshi but I’ve been interested in the discourse around yaoi and fuoshi culture for a long time, in general I feel sympathetic to fans of yaoi and BL works.
As a person of chinese descent, I don’t trust any westerners who demonize all BL and yaoi as “fetishizing rape and abuse uwu”. It just feels very offensive to stereotype and generalize an entire medium from asia they seen to know nothing about, or have an extremely limited knowledge of.
Any stories can be problematic no matter who its written by and marketed towards. Porn marketed to gay men can be just as problematic as any yaoi/BL work.
And many people do enjoy “dark” and “edgy” content. That is nothing new or wrong, some stories are meant to titillate and disgust the audience at the same time, no one gives anyone crap for watching “Game of thrones” or SAW movies.
Yaoi and BL works are not inherently more “problematic” than someone’s slice-of-life coffeeshop AU on ao3. Some are beautifully drawn and amazingly written, such as the BL manwha “Painter of the night”.
And yes, some asians are also anti-fujoshi/yaoi/BL, but I also disagree strongly with them too.
The claims that most or all fujoshi are cishet girls has been proven wrong time and time again, so I wont even get into it.
To me, many opinions expressed by anti-fujoshi feel sexist as hell, yet many have the gall to claim fujin are the “misogynist” ones. For example, I’ve seen those claim that they are “superior” to those “nasty fujoshi” because they ship MLM and WLW based on “brain wiring” and “personal connection” rather than “personal sexual fulfillment” (im paraphrasing what I saw someone say), as if feeling sexual desire makes you a bad person and female sexuality is tainted and evil.
Anti-fujoshis speak a lot about how toxic and homophobic they perceive the fujoshi community to be and for that I cant comment since I havent participated in any way, but most seem to focus on what kind of fiction being created and consumed as evidence of “toxic behavior”. To me, no death threats or harassment over what fiction you consume is acceptable, no stranger has a right to demand you only read “pure” works yet I’ve seen many anti-fujoshi bloggers do just that, which is worrying.
These are my thoughts, I hope I’ve made my thoughts.

still tired of people acting like the only Smart way to enjoy a/b/o is to consume Very Woke Very Feminist Subversions™ as if the only way to get a good fic is from someone who doesn’t even like the genre flouting obvious/common but not universal tropes and then congratulating themselves on their ingenuity

listen, can i just say something? i think diversity in a/b/o is so good. like the breaking stereotypes and all that stuff, i appreciate it so much and it’s amazing. there should definitely be more of that, but also please remember, if you’re into the traditional stuff too, it doesn’t make you a bad person! you can like whatever you like and you shouldn’t feel bad about your universe or canon, even if it seems overdone or too stereotypical. do your thing and like what you like. there’s no point in being rude to others for their personal likes and tastes. we’re all different, and that’s okay. thanks for hearing me out! ♡

Courting hcs
(AKA one of my favourite A/B/O tropes)
• So, traditionally an Alpha will court an Omega as an attempt to prove themselves to be a worthy mate.
• Obviously, there are exceptions in which an Omega courts the Alpha at times.
• Courting can be done by any of the secondary genders and can be directed at people of any other secondary gender, but it typically happens between Alphas and Omegas, or between a Beta and another Beta.
• 9 times out of 10, people ask before courting someone, but sometimes an Alpha will just.. randomly hand an Omega a blanket or something like that with no explanation. This can go on until the Omega realizes "𝘰𝘩 𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺'𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘦"
• In more traditional families, the parents/guardians of the one being courted will be/have to be asked before courtship begins.
• Often, people who are being courted will give gifts to the person courting them.
• Courting gifts vary depending on the secondary gender of the person being courted.
FOR OMEGAS
Pillows.
Plushies.
Decorative things like fairy lights or scented things like candles/max melts.
Sweaters or hoodies - anything soft.
Supplies for nesting - blankets and stuff.
If the person courting them is trusted, then scented things are a good gift - a hoodie or blanket belonging to them.
Food, usually sweet things.
Collars- ask first though, not everyone is so keen on these.
Flowers.
Jewelry.
FOR ALPHAS
• Often practical things - hair dye if roots are showing, new earphones if the cord is fraying, things like that.
• Food! Usually homemade.
• Like I said with the first bullet point, things that the Alpha might need are a must. Let’s say an Omega is courting and Alpha and they notice the tiniest of holes in their t shirt. Bam, next day the see the Alpha they’ve got them a new shirt.
• Colognes and perfumes.
• Books or CDs.
• Scented items as well - honestly they can be given during courting to anyone regardless of secondary gender.
• Lotions, soaps, etc.
FOR BETAS
• I can’t remember who originally said this but collectable items are good - for example, Funko Pops.
• Things for decoration are good too - stuff like a poster, printed pictures, picture frames, etc.
• Betas are all about being organized, so stuff like calendars, day planners, etc.
• Skincare items.
That’s all I have for courting right now but I may add to this over time!
