TMNT Rant Ahead: You've been warned.

I am officially going to rant for a moment. Why is it okay for girls to swoon over toxic stalker vampires, overly possessive werewolves, demons who demand their souls, angsty emo fallen angels, and a host of unhealthy nonhuman lovers, and yet I'M somehow creepy and weird for liking Ninja Turtles?

The original TMNT comics were gritty, dark, and absolutely not for children. The first movies had cursing and violence. The 2013 series had incredibly heavy themes. The Rise of the TMNT movie had actual body horror, some cursing, and I'd feel incredibly uncomfortable letting a young kid watch it.

Don't even get me started on the Michael Bay movies. We don't talk about those. Not for kids.

The argument I get is "it's creepy that you like characters from a kid's show." Bro, did you watch only the goofy 1984 show? Or have you taken literally any time to read the comics or watch any of the deeper stuff?

You may judge me for wanting Donatello to carry me away to the lair for snuggles, but is it really any unhealthier than wanting a vampire to assault you?

i think i might have seen this on a yt comment once way back, but do you ever think about the fact that The Swan Princess literally set up Derek having the PERFECT "redemption" from his stupid "What else is there?" line?

when Rothbart's hench-lady is transformed to look like Odette, Derek should realize that something is wrong. this new Odette is passive and overly-agreeable with no spunk or fire like the Odette he knew growing up. no matter what she looks like, how beautiful she is, that's not the Odette he knows. that's not the Odette he loves because in love THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO HER THAN BEAUTY.

and they just...don't do that??? he falls for it hook-line-and-sinker, and nearly gets her killed??

the missed potential is 🗡criminal🗡

Monty has a Cajun accent, that paired with the fact that he's an alligator implies that he's from Louisiana/New Orleans.

So it's now my personal headcanon that he just kinda slips into broken Creole French when he gets mad. Like he'll be in his dressing room flipping a fuckin table or something and all they can hear from outside is just muffled yelling where about half of it is incomprehensible and the rest is in broken Creole French with a few English words occasionally in there.
