Summary:

When then-just-Link-now-Four finds himself with three other heroes, all coming from different times, his first thought is that it shouldn't be too hard to make this strange team work.

But one of them seems decided to make it harder to get along.

This "Legend" guy is acting shady, obviously hiding something.

And, well, this "Four" guy is determined to find out what it is.

Summary:

Four was always the sensible one, especially among the younger heroes. He was always able to see more sides of an issue than the rest of them, and he was always able to tell when they needed to pull back from an idea so crazy it would have taken someone else intervening to see it was crazy and reckless.

Four knew loss, as well. Legend didn't know who precisely it had been for Four, only that he was mature and sensible enough to have processed his grief better than Legend ever could. It infuriated him sometimes, Four's solidity in the face of grief, but who was he to judge?

When Legend found himself grieving again alongside Four, he hadn't expected the watery, manic grin and the offer to try some dark magic to bring their lost ones back. Especially since he had caught Four in what Legend had instinctively called his purple mood, usually the most sensible one of them all. But if Four thought it was okay, who was Legend to say no?

Four raises an eyebrow and allows the smile pushing at his lips to break free. “Can’t, sorry,” is his reply. The veteran screams wordlessly in anger at the answer.

“Surely it’s not that bad,” the smithy reasons. He tips his cupped hands forward slightly, and Legend stumbles at the motion, falling onto the barricade of his fingers with a muttered curse. “Look, you’ll survive.”

“I was not worried about that, but now I am,” he grumbles, scrambling back to his feet and crossing his arms. “So thank you, Four.”

This is a Ravio-centric (duh. what else do you expect from me scnbaosjdbcaqo) hurt/comfort one-shot/character study, and I think it’s going to be 1000 words or less. This one may actually be finished before all other similar ones in the queue.

Since there aren’t many Ravio-centric angst & hurt/comfort short stories, @violet-xd09 and I have decided to put our bunny in Scenarios™️. The plot is quite simple. Ravio got hit by a curse off screen, and the best way to save him is to put him into sleep before a cure is found.

So, Legend needs to comfort the purple bunny as Hilda administers the magical procedure. That’s all. The plot is very simple, and it has very minimal context. The main focus is character dynamics driven by fear, uncertainly, and vulnerability. Maybe I’ll write it one day!!

And lmao she sure does get yoinked into the Zelda Club, but doesn't get adopted (Sun is one of the oldest Zeldas, but she's in her 20s and in the middle of her studies, not great to adopt someone !)

So the answer is. Once again. Way too complicated. I am going to ramble immensely under the cut, there is a one-sentence summary at the end if it's too much <3

Again, cw for mentioned child abuse. I'll be as non-descriptive as possible, but I think this time if you're sensitive to this subject it's better to back off (as always, take care <3)

There's a reason I didn't mention Fable a lot despite her being Legend's sister, and it's because there is Drama with a capital D there

Actually, the siblings lived together until they were around... 8 to 10, I think, I can't find any note about it.

The thing is, they had a mother (who is for now unnamed and only mentioned), but she died when they were around 6, and from then on Agahnim got worse with them. He kept it hidden of course, but one time he hurt Fable in a way that he just had to bring her to a doctor, and, well, the guy called the police (kudos for doctor !)

However, and I am very aware that it gets farfetched but bear with me, Agahnim is supposed to be an influential guy here. He has money and is credible, so justice listened to him when he justified himself, and what he told them was that Legend was the one who was violent with his sister. That he was a very troubled child ever since their mother died, that he kept it secret because he didn't want to compromise his children's future... Etc etc

Maybe he even got Legend to tell the police he did it, again the kid was 10 at best. And when they investigated their life at home they found no trace of Agahnim being a bad father (they have food on the table, how bad can it be ? <- said extremely sarcastically on my side of course)

Agahnim wants to keep Legend more than Fable for... Evil villain purpose that I won't get into for now lmao, so he played the card of "I'm his father I can get through him", and Fable was the one to get placed in a foster family, because the trial deliberated that she couldn't stay in the same house as Legend.

He's supposed to visit her on week-ends but he can't be bothered, and good for her !

Fable will eventually land at Impa's (the older Impa from ALTTP, because there is also a younger Impa but they're different people) (this iS NOT IMPORTANT BEAR WITH ME)

But yea Impa wasn't her first foster family and the people before kind of... Convinced Fable she was misremembering and she needed to let go of the past. So she remembers Legend fondly, but she's scared of who she'll actually find if she searches for him.

This is pretty bleak, right ? Ok here are some things that happen afterwards that are more happy :

I don't know if you noticed it on the family tree but Sky is actually Legend and Fable's cousin ? It's a nod at the royal family headcanon of course, but it's also how Legend and Fable find each other again :)

To put it shortly (hah, shortly, none of this is short I'm so sorry), Warriors was there the night where Legend left his house to tell Time what was happening, and he tells everything to Sky, but more like "you wouldn't believe the night I just had"

The more he tells the story the more Sky is like. Uh. Did you ask the kid his name. "Sure haha it's Legend, easy to remember lmao".

Hence Sky completely freaking out ! His cousin he lost touch with is on the news ! What the hell ! He goes to visit Legend, and it's a little awkward but they both really want to reconnect.

And Sky lost Fable's contact, but you know who his girlfriend is >:) Sun gets the most confused and rushed summary of the story, puts everything together, and calls Fable like "honey can you pass by as soon as possible please ?"

(They don't meet with Legend right away because their legal guardians needs to be there, but Impa and Time are happy to comply, and they settle for meeting in a café and there is a lot of hugging and happy tears)

And important detail : Fable kept Legend favorite's plush that was a big round bee (he gave it to her "for courage" before they got separated). She gives it back very solemnly, like "she missed you". Legend is absolutely embarrassed, "I can't believe you remember it's a girl—" but he is thrilled actually. He keeps the bee 🎉

And that will be it for this gigantic answer hahaha ! Again, I'm very happy that you liked my other post, thank you for the ask !

Tl;dr : Fable gets taken in by Impa after Agahnim make everyone believe Legend was the one being violent with his sister. It does get better !

ModernAU for WIP please!

Lele I am hollering because I was like "ah yay someone asked about something that isn't just me bullying Legend" AND HERE'S THE FIRST LINE IN THIS FOLDER :

"Don't be fooled by the title this is just another Legend whump <3"

I SWEAR THERE'S MORE TO IT NOW LMAO Past Lenn really throwing me under the bus—

But oh my lord, this wip goes all over the place ! Buckle up, this is going to be a LONG post !

So it's not modern-modern, it's more like modern with magic, with sheikah tech replacing our normal tech too haha ! And the thing is : this is another reincarnation cycle, which implies that Linked Universe happened thousands something years ago. Which. Don't think too hard about it !

But as I eloquently put it in my notes :

- I think maybe there was like one dude who started hearing Dark Link and was like '"huh. Let's become evil"

And he did forbidden magic with a forbidden reincarnation magic book and poof ! Everyone's back ?

- Tldr : Dude did the magic equivalent of a keysmash and brought back all Zelda, Link and Demise's reincarnations.

I had never noticed how unserious my notes were in my wips before posting them in the wild—

So not only all villains, Links and Zeldas are there, but also every character that appear in at least two games. Jury's still out on whether Hyrule Warriors counts or not, but there's Ravio and Hilda in the mix, but it can also be because they have a triforce so. Yea

But it means yay for Malon, Beedle, (unfortunately) Tingle, etc etc...

And last note before I get a little into the plot : the villains remember their past lives, since Dark Link/Demise was the one to cause the reincarnation. Concerning the others :

- The Zeldas have v i s i o n s Like, Sun especially. She has a Zelda radar. She will adopt them all as sisters. + they all get vibes around reincarnations. They will avoid the villains just because. They will be drawn to the Links naturally. Sun sees Sky and is like "oh I'm going to marry this man." Artemis sees Wars and thinks "why does he looks like he needs a scarf. I want to see this man with a blue scarf." Stuff like that - The Links are clueless. They'd fistbump a Ganon. They are also drawn to Zeldas but don't realize it. Like for earlier examples, Sky will crush immediately on Sun but it doesn't feel like a prophecy. Wars will see Artemis staring and be like "huh, I should talk to her" but that's it

ANYWAYS the whump for Legend comes from the fact that the magic did wonky things and his father is... Agahnim. Who remembers his current son as the one who foiled his plans and killed him milleniums ago. Yeah so that doesn't go well for him

That's also why his design looks a bit bland for now, he's not expressing himself like he wants to. You bet that when he gets out of there the first thing he does is dye pink streaks in his hair !

There's. SO MUCH to explain on here but I'm just gonna brush through the characters relationships and call it a day :

-> This is an extremely self-indulgent AU so of course it's shippy— Ravio/Legend and Four/Shadow are established couples

-> Except I try to respect some of the games events to make some drama ? So the equivalent of Ravio staying in Lorule is that he has to go away for his studies (his thing is still building magic gear !). However Ravio does come back in LU canon so it's not forever, just... Legend is kind of alone at the beginning of this, and he doesn't want to bother Ravio with his problems so he stops responding :[

-> Anyways Legend isn't very popular at his school. He's the son of a rich guy and gets into fights quite easily, so he's labelled as "ungrateful rich prick" and doesn't have friends. He's 16, and Hyrule and Wild are 15, so he spent a year alone and broody in school before they got in

-> Legend meets Hyrule because they both eat at the Asocials Table™ at their school. One day Legend puts aside an apricot pie because he doesn't like it, Hyrule exchanges it for an apple pie, and it's the beginning of a great friendship

-> Hyrule is in Wild's class so one day he brings him along, and Wild is absolutely impervious to Legend's sarcasm and dry humor which makes them friends very fast

Triple threat is formed !

-> Time and Malon are Twilight and Wild's parents. Twilight is their biological son, and they adopted Wild thanks to him, because he met him and vibed with him and brought him for dinner, until one time Wild was like "welp thank you for this, now I'll try to find a place to sleep haha, not gonna abuse of your kindness" and they all collectively realized he was in the streets and had no idea who his parents were <3

(He has amnesia from an accident he gets bad nightmares about, but even I am not sure what happened there)

So he's been adopted a few years ago, maybe when he was 12 or something !

-> Also Time and Malon will adopt Legend towards the middle of the story because Agahnim will be proved to be abusive

-> Twilight, Warriors and Sky met when they were kids and they are ride or die since then ! Sky and Wars lives together as roommates, and Twilight is there so often that he basically lives here unofficially. To the point that there's a scene where Wars wonders where he is in the morning and Sky's like "well. He has a home" and Wars answers "oh, I forgot about that"

So Twilight still lives at his parents' for now, but he's not there very often

-> Warriors and Wind are brothers, but Wind still lives at their Grandma's home (Warriors moved for college). Again, I am debating bringing in Aryll because it'd break my "characters that have been there at least in two games" rules, but also come on. It's mean of me not to give him his little sister

And I'm going to stop there for this post, but if anyone is interested in knowing more honestly I'd love to get asks about this AU ! I'm not sure if I'll write it as a whole story, at least not before I'm done with my current writing projects, but it'd be fun to share art and snippets here and there.

Of course, "this guy" is Legend, and of course, I'm making him feel bad <3

To be simple, I gave him gender dysphoria :T

The pronoun I use is "he" in the wip, but I think the goal was for him to realize that... They're a they/them bitch (affectionate)

Here's the first thing I had written for this, it's pretty short :

Looking in the mirror is like staring at a stranger.

He looks back, this guy Link doesn't know, and it's just painful to watch. How so different he looks from what he feels inside.

It's not someone devastatingly ugly, even though he still hear Yuga's voice in his head on very bad days. It's not someone breathtaking either.

It's just... A guy.

Not him.

This boy in the mirror, he has tears in his eyes now, and it makes him even less connected to Link. His hands raise up, scruff his hair, and it makes a mess and he doesn't look like he knows why he did that.

He tries to look at a different angle, and it's still not right.

Nothing works. Angry tears are burning at his lashes.

They won't fall. He won't let them.

Looking too long in the mirror feels bad for everyone, he's sure. The solution is probably not to look.

To ignore the guy.

There isn't much more actually, mostly just a scene where Legend talks to Zelda and is unable to verbalize what feels so wrong. I remember I wanted to go further with this, but as of now it stops when he meets the chain, which is. A shame !

Oooo so I had legit mostly forgotten about this one hahaha but honestly ? It's kind of cool

I'm gonna put a lil cw for implied child abuse there. Verrrry implied in this post, but to be sure !

To summarize the idea, here are the notes like they are written at the top of the folder lmao :

After his uncle died (was not revived) , Lege couldn't legally stay alone in a house since he was like ten (Zelda also was like ten I have no idea of who is supposed to be ruling)

So he was taken in by the soldiers, like they trained him to be a knight and stuff

But not only did he have bad memories from the whole mind control, the knights SUCKED :)

So the timeline is :

- He basically lived there for like two years and then he ran away to do OOS & OOA

- Came back briefly (at fourteen-ish), they tried to put him back there, he had a fight with a Zelda who was too young to understand what was really happening, ran away again : LA

- And finally found the blacksmith apprenticeship when he came back to Hyrule again (before getting dragged in ALBW) which allowed him to live alone as long as the smiths watched over him

The captain of the guard was terrible with the apprentices. Not only Lege, but especially him since he tried to fight back. Didn't go well.

-> he refuses to call Warriors 'captain'. Wars specifically says he'd prefer to be called 'captain' rather than Warriors. So at first he thinks Legend wants to upset him on purpose. Uncomfortable atmosphere in the studio

-> Lege is especially wary of Wars, but Time and Sky as well.

He's still a hothead and will debate and throw fights, but if he feels like he's losing control over the conversation he will freeze. If he realizes he's wrong, or if the others get too passionate and make wide gestures, he'll nope out

Basically, I was like "wait who is supposed to take care of little Legend if his uncle is dead" and decided to choose the worst answer possible for him <3

All the scenes I have written are from the other boys' pov as they notice his strange reactions to certain things (hence the title, 'flinches', because that's what Wars notice first, Legend flinching a lot when they argue.)

That's pretty much it ! I only wrote scenes out of context about this, but there's no coherent story around them.
