PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:   i know my activity has been lacking lately, but i miss shelly a lot. so i’m going to be returning, BUT — i will be cleaning out my drafts. before my mini hiatus, i had a hard time focusing on my writing here. i think i want to focus more on plot based threads. i’m always going to accept memes/send them in, however! i think i want to put a bigger emphasis on plots right now.

This has been on my mind for long but I’m gonna do this - please reblog this if you’re comfortable with pre-establishing relationships. I do not mean “met at the grocery store two weeks ago” or “have a common friend”, but rather stuff like “have been best friends since kindergrden”, “go for a beer every friday”, “friends with benefits”, “dated in highschool”, “hate each other’s guts because -insert reason-”  etc. Something meaningful (but not necessarily shippy) and I mean with muns/characters you have not interacted with, because I cannot believe I am the only one who prefers jumping right into the heart of the human interaction.

Drew laughs and leans back in his seat, the cigarette turning to ash in his pale fingers. She has no clue. He glances at the doorway to make sure no one is around before flashing Shelly a brief glimpse of his fangs, which he normally keeps hidden in human company. “When you’ve been around for eight hundred years, there isn’t much you haven’t seen. I’ve seen others like you— something was holding them back. Something happened.” He supposes he is a medium, of some sort, somewhere between the living and the dead. “It’s a curse, you know, being stuck around forever.”

in life, there weren’t many closed doors in the realm of shelly webster’s beliefs. magick, spirits, soulmates, she was open to any of it ... death has burst all of these doors wide off their hinges. seeing the great beyond and coming back gives exceptional perceptive — shelly still wouldn’t have banked on the existence of vampires until now.

“i don’t want to be here forever,” does anyone? the decision is not in her hands; “... i went to a place different than this. there was a bridge and i was asked to cross it — but i didn’t want to move on without ...” it’s too raw to share with a probable stranger, eight hundred years old or not.
