The Wild Hunt: Belos’ Mask and Hunter’s Role

So… Hollow Mind happened. And I’m not the only one combing for clues and/or further information, because we’ve got a creative team that’s weaving THE TIGHTEST scripts. Even half-frame backgrounds are making sense.

Let’s start with the mask, first carved by Wittebro. It’s interesting that a Puritan kiddo in the Witch Hunting Era would ask for a horned mask. Isn’t that not too Christian?

It’s SUPER DAMN PAGAN. NATURE-GOD LEVEL PAGAN. But the first context Anglo-Saxonest Phillip Wittebane would’ve encountered such a figure isn’t so divine - It’s actually Herne The Hunter, a ghost who appears in a less known Shakespeare play from 1587, called “The Merry Wives of Windsor”. Quoted from Wikipedia:

An early, pirated version of the play from 1602 includes a different version of this text, which states that the ghost (spelled “Horne” in this version) was invented to scare children into obedience, and that mothers tell their children the tale of a ghost who walks the [Windsor] Forest in the form of a great stag.

So baby Phillip was an edgelord who wanted a boogeyman mask and then wore it always. Ominous, much? But wait! Where is the aforementioned Nature God in this?

Alrighty Folks! I don't know if anyone pointed this out already, so I may~

TOH SPOILERS!

So! Looking at the newest Episode, we got to have the first look at Eda's Folders- the Folders where all her Pranks and Rule breakings are throughly recorded, showing us a gigantic Pile:

Only that... I am a liar! We did see the Pile before in "Something Ventured, Someone Framed"

But something is different- the Pile is way smaller than it used to be by FAR

Even Eda who used to have a Smug grinning "I thought there'd be more~" reaction at Faust, did seem very surprised when Bump showed it to her, even when she said the exact same Thing.

This little Detail leads me to believe that after Bump took over the Role as Principal- he DEADASS took the Time to sort through Eda's Files, taking out all the Nitpicky/unreasonable Papers from Fausts Time, leaving only the actual Pranks and Schemes that were OUT-OF-LINE

A Detail that has me appreciating and respecting Bump even more than I already did <3
