agnes is insane it's the last song on the album it's a song about loss and suicide at the end of an album which begins with the song "life itself" but on vinyl it's an endless loop the song never ends until you as the listener physically stop it dave says its his favourite and the most personal song on the whole album when the album is about people they met on tour and stories they heard this song is about someone they knew personally and he said its probably the saddest song he will ever write and he said "the only way i could get the vocal right was to record it with the vocal mic held close in my hands alone in a small room and finish it just as intimately as it started." the music video was recorded in a human centrifuge being inside you're under insane levels of pressure it's hard to even breathe let alone sing and they ran it eighteen times to get it just right he went through that agonising experience eighteen times because "its the only way that we could just about begin to simulate for a moment what happens within agnes" what the fuck!!!!! and the pure unfiltered emotion you can see in the video it literally hurts to watch it's such a painful song but it's also so tender..

Context: A few months ago I made a post mentioning my idea for this, and it’s picking up some traction. The event would involve parents of demigods & magicians, including the gods, and insight into to their thoughts about their children. This is in the vein of my anticlea series which focuses on the parents of demigods. I’ve noticed this is a very niche but popular space and I’d like to fill it out. There would not be a sideblog created but an Ao3 collection would be made and works would be grouped together like that. I would also be reblogging any other type of submission and making it a featured tag, although the tag #riordanverseparentsweek would be where it all should go.
