Why’s nobody talking about the closet scene I want to talk about the closet scene lets talk about the closet scene
So do you remember the scene where Eddie and Richie are one by one opening the ‘not so scary’’and ‘very scary’ doors? The first one we all remember very well - the Pomeranian sequence was just too much to forget. But what was hiding behind the ‘very scary’ door is very important character-wise. They opened the door that turned out to be a CLOSET at first, and they were BOTH facing it.
You all know where this is going already and what a closet means in terms of sexuality, but wait, there’s more!
While Reddie are struggling with the doors, Benverly each are facing the biggest and deepest fears of theirs - Beverly is confronted by her bullies, dead father, fountains of blood from the first movie, etc. Ben meanwhile is struggling with not being buried alive - alone and forgotten.
So yeah while Benverly were fighting with their embodied fears, Richie and Eddie the same exact moment were facing A WHOLE ASS OPEN CLOSET which is obviously symbolic and means that both of them are pretty much closeted and one of their biggest fears is coming out.
my friend: i wonder if we’ll learn more about richie’s biggest fear, i feel like they didn’t really explore it in the first one? Like is his fear clowns or going missing?
me:
my other friend: also I hope we learn more about Stan in general. like I feel like he didn’t get a lot of screen time in the first one.
andy did That and made sure that the woman who played eddie’s mom also played his wife and made it obvious that his entire marriage was based on mommy issues and repression and yall have the NERVE to say he made eddie straight in chapter 2 the fucking NERVE !!
I’M LOSING MY SHIT OVER THIS. Apparently there’s a REDDIE KISSING SCENE that didn’t make it to the movie because Andy thought it was polemic and because it was not in the book. Saw this on (oriadoresfack) Instagram, credits to them.
I’M SO FUCKING MAD THEY DIDN’T PUT IT IN THE MOVIE like if it is because it wasn’t in the book, (I personally think it’s not) that doesn’t make sense like so many scenes that weren’t in the book made it in the movie especially the bill and Beverly kiss when they were kids. Andy Muschietti is a fucking coward (still love him tho).
i just think it’s unlikely that a story with a cosmic turtle who Might be god doesn’t have like reviving people like. i’m sorry stephen king u should just bring eddie back. it’s all just make believe u can do whatever u want.
it would've been so powerful if eddie had just shown up at the quarry while richie was sobbing and was just like "what the fuck is going on here" and when the losers were asking him how he was alive eddie says "some turtle brought me back" and everyone just accepts it. queue eddie walking up to richie and kissing him. the end roll credits.
I STILL CAN’T BELIVE THIS. Andy Muschietti has all my respect. I would totally watch the whole movie if it was 4 hours long but this, this is so much better.
WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS??!?!?
Andy said in a YouTube video that he's going to make a supercut, which will involve both movies plus all the scenes that didn't make it in. (because it chapter two was initially 4 hours long lol, that's 1 hour and 15 minutes of footage we HAVE NOT SEEN)
But this isnt all...he said he will also add some scenes that haven't been filmed YET. The interviewer asked if he will go back to film more scenes and he said YES.
Are you guys getting this, this isn't over omg
