I just want you all to know, that if and when this site does experience a real exodus and/or get sunsetted for good, even if we don't keep in touch I'll remember you so fondly. You're the online equivalent of the other kid on the beach where we built sandcastles together; the girl at the campsite where we explored the trees. You're the man next to me on the train who chatted cheerfully to pass the time when we got delayed. You're the drunk person who shared kind words in the bathroom at the club, you're the talented artists at the life drawing class or the poetry night in a city where I don't live anymore. It makes me sad that maybe in the future our paths won't cross so easily, but even when we leave this little shared piece of cyberspace, carried away on our briefly intersecting trajectories, just know I still love you

moleskine is trending on tumblr for WHATEVER fucking reason and this is your regular reminder that moleskine is some of the worst AND overpriced notebooks around. having a moleskine notebook is absolutely nothing to be proud of and it gets really awkward in stationery communities when people who use moleskine start asking why their nice pens do not work on their 'fancy' moleskine notebooks.

the answer is the paper is so dogshit that a good chunk of amazing writing utensils WILL NOT WORK on that paper. there is nothing moleskine excels at compared to other notebooks, other than marketing. they are nearly universally hated among people who use fountain pens and rollerballs.

seriously I cannot tell you how many people slide into fountain pen communities blaming their FOUNTAIN PENS because their awful shitty moleskine notebooks bleed and feather. because they are bad notebooks with bad paper and too many people fall for their marketing claiming they are anything but a rip-off. and then the community has to break the tragic news to yet another person that their 'fancy' notebook is a pile of steaming trash and they might as well try to write on toilet paper with the vast majority of fountain pens and fountain pen inks.

moleskine is one of the most infamous notebooks in all of stationery in all of the world. it sucks THAT much compared to anything even remotely respectable.

good paper does not have to be expensive. moleskine just SUCKS

So I just saw a post by a random personal blog that said “don’t follow me if we never even had a conversation before” and?????? Not to be rude but literally what the fuck??????????

I’ve had people (non-pornbots) try to strike conversation out of nowhere in my DMs recently, and now I’m wondering if they were doing that because they wanted to follow me and thought they needed to interact first. I feel compelled to say, just in case, that it’s totally okay to follow this blog (or my side blog, for that matter) even if we’ve never talked before.

Also, I’m legit confused. Is this how follow culture works right now? It was worded like it’s common sense but is that really a thing?

the problem with being creative is that you start to feel very guilty when you haven’t created anything in a while

raise a glass to the posts you love that end up deleted. to the fanart and fanfics you lose track of and can’t locate. to the blogs you used to look through that ended up unexpectedly disappearing. to the things you didn’t archive because you always assumed they’d be there.

crazy thang is whenever someone makes a post talkng about how xyz thing annoys them someone will always go 'oh so we're not even allowed to do [thing] anymore??' like no you literally can. that person just will not like you. if that is enough to stop you then its not that youre not allowed its that you are not capable of existing outside of the approval of others

when I first got into calligraphy and fountain pens in 2017 I bought some of his ink bc. I didn't know. and I still have them bc why throw away something I already purchased but uhhhhhhhhh noodlers. is not good

it's also bad ink. like, generally. the guy who makes it is a crank who coasts on having been one of the early modern fountain pen ink creators making interesting colors and waterproof unwashable inks. this is because he's convinced that the government is chomping at the bit to forge his name on contracts, which probably should have been a red flag from the start but at the time it seemed quaint i guess. last i checked his quality control is nonexistent but i'm pretty sure he claims that's a feature because his ink is artisanal.
