you know how I know Elriel has the antis pressed? because of their constant need to dismiss or write off every.single.interaction. as something negative or insignificant.

Elain offering her permission to Az and initiating the almost kiss? Oh, that’s just because she’s actually horny for her mate but hasn’t ✨healed✨ enough to fully accept him so she’s just using Az to get her rocks off

Azriel risking life and limb to save Elain from Hybern’s camp? Oh, well, he was just doing his job and was so outraged about her kidnapping because Feyre, his High Lady, was sad 😔

Elain getting Azriel a Solstice gift that makes him laugh like no one’s seen before but never getting her own mate a gift? Oh, that’s because Elain is just so in love with her mate she can’t function. Also the gifts she gave to Az were just gags and weren’t actually all that thoughtful

Azriel getting Elain a custom necklace that perfectly captures the hidden nuances of her character? Oh he’s just lusting after her and the necklace doesn't even 'belong' to Elain so...

Az questioning the Cauldron and his literal religion because of his feelings for Elain? Oh, he’s entitled and lust driven. He cares more about finding a mate and completing the 3 brothers x 3 sisters pattern than he does about Elain

Azriel figuring out Elain is a Seer when no one else, not even her own mate, could figure out what was amiss? Oh, also just part of his job, nothing to look at here🙄

A charged glance passing between them? Oh, just SJM trying to hit a word count, nothing of importance there!!

Azriel likening Elain to the sun at Dawn??? Oh, well, everyone thinks Elain is beautiful, so… This isn’t unique to Az.

Elain calling Azriel’s burned hands beautiful? Oh, silly, she was just talking about his siphon! Not his scars!

Elain saying her heart belongs to no one and not wanting a mate = Oh, well, she doesn’t know what she wants yet! Once she ✨heals✨ she’ll realize that the Cauldron, fate, society, religion, all that actually does know what’s best for her and that her feelings for Azriel were just a 😤rebound😤

Like at this point they’re so set on trying to “be right” that they’re taking every single moment of Elriel foreshadowing and finding some way to corrupt it into something negative or morally dubious. and it’s just…so odd to see happening in real time. Especially because I damn well know if any of their ships had these same exact interactions they’d all be jumping up and down and cheering endgame.

So, apparently Vassa not showing interest in Lucien (according to antis) means Vassien is will not work—but somehow it’s totally fine to shove Elain at him, even though she canonically has no interest in him. Right, makes sense.

Elain and Azriel’s forbidden romance is so good, even some people in the fandom are working overtime to keep them apart. Like damn, the trope is troping too hard 😭🔥

When you really think about it, you realize that Elriel isn’t hated because Elain and Azriel don’t have feelings for each other or lack canon romantic moments — it’s hated because they do.

People keep trying to pair Azriel with someone else, not because there’s a deeper connection, but because they believe it’s a better alternative. Knowing that others are listening to their nonsense and actually believing it.

It’s honestly absurd.

The way some people talk about Elriel, as if they’re just the worst ship ever and are both toxic/horrible/disgusting…

And all these two have done is like each other. Instead of the liking the fandom’s red head of choice.

That’s the biggest crime Elriel, as a ship, have committed. Mutual attraction, and a lack of attraction to others.

Can we just admit how crazy it is to hate a ship where the couple have only ever been kind to each other, have never hurt or been mean to each other, have given thoughtful gifts to one another, have spent one on one time together and learned about each other, and have had important, romantic scenes together?

Because it’s truly unfathomable to me.

Weird shit I see in this fandom

The same people that hate the IC and especially Rhys are the first ones to defend him telling Azriel to stay away from Elain. They drone on and on and make these reaching posts about how Rhys doesn't actually let Feyre "choose" anything and that he's a terrible leader but somehow him telling Azriel to stay away from Elain should be taken as gospel.
