I think one of my favorite tropes is when character A is about to die and knows the HAVE TO die so character B can survive and they’re holding onto character B, telling them over and over again that everything’s gonna be okay and their gonna be okay and all that. 

+10 points if character A is a mentor/parental type character and character B has already experienced this type of loss and doesn’t think they can handle it again.

I’m gonna trauma dump real quick. Normally I’d apologize, but this is literally my blog and you’re voluntarily reading it sooo

Okay suicide warning real quick 

So I finally worked up the courage to start reading songbirds and snakes because I was recently gifted Sunrise on the Reaping and I’ve been thinking about my friend Austin. I was like eleven was the first time I read the hunger games because it was for a class and we absolutely loved it. We read the rest of the series together (at the time it was just mockingly and catching fire) and decided to write our own. It was the seventeenth hunger games and followed Mallory and Caden from Districts 8 and 12. I wrote Caden’s perspective and he wrote Mallory’s. Unfortunately Austin’s Grandpa passed away and because his grandpa was his primary caregiver, he killed himself rather than enter the adoption/foster system. He was eleven. It was supposed to end similarly to the first hunger games(we were eleven, fuck off) where the two decid to just off themselves using poison(again, we were eleven) after he died though I changed the ending to cope, making it so Caden took the poison instead of Mallory so Mallory could go home. I didn’t actually write it was just in the planning. Worst part is the guy cast as Sejanus in the movie looks like a grown up Austin. I miss him. 

 I don’t know where the notebook is, but somewhere there’s a notebook half full of a hunger games story and a bunch of planning. 

Interacting with the hunger games community is weirdly comforting for me.
