chad ━━ ✦ phonestalked​.

 “  and  this  is  the  home  theater  i  was  telling  you  about.  ”  he  says  lightly,  making  his  way  around  the  coffee  table  to  sit  down  on  the  large  couch  in  the  center  of  the  room.  it  had  all  escalated  fairly  quickly,  and  chad  still  was  caught  in  the  whirlwind  that  lexi  howard  had  recently  brought  into  his  life.  not  that  he  was  complaining  about  that.  in  fact,  it  was  actually  quite  the  opposite.  truth  is,  he  hadn’t  really  paid  attention  to  her  before  the  play  and  now,  here  she  was,  infiltrating  on  his  morning,  noon,  and  night.     “   my  mom  says  they  were  some  of  my  uncles  favorite  movies  to  watch  so  it  kind  of  fits  the  whole  vibe,  you  know.   ”     a  casual  nod  to  the  man  who  inspired  the  room,  and  who’s  face  was  currently  watching  them  like  big  brother  in  some  dystopian  novel.  but  the  star  of  the  show  was  the  carrie  dvd  he  had  casually  placed  front  and  center.  and  he  can  barely  hide  the  smile  when  she  finally  mentions  it,  licking  his  lips  as  features  remain  as  serious  as  they  can.     “   well,  you  told  me  how  much  you  liked  it  so  i  figured  it  would  be  a  good  place  to  start.   ”     the  corners  of  his  lips  tug  upwards,  threatening  to  give  him  away.  but  he  shifts  just  a  little  closer  to,  voice  getting  softer.     “     just  .  .  .  don’t  look  up,  alright  ?  i  worked  really  hard  at  getting  that  bucket  up  there,  so  i’d  kind  of  like  it  to  have  the  full  effect  when  it  eventually  drops.   ”

     he’d picked her up. he’d actually called to her house and picked her up. her mother had almost fought tooth and nail to get a glimpse of the person who had decided to bring her youngest daughter out, but lexi had been faster, and smarter. and now? god, the nerves in her stomach just wouldn’t let up. butterflies had made their home in it’s pit, and her heart did a little somersault whenever she caught that smile from the athlete. her gaze followed his words to the portrait of his uncle who was beaming down at them both.   ❛ did you meet him? before....? ❜  most knew the story of what had happened to chad’s uncle, but the details were hazy for some. and others just never wanted to gossip. lexi had heard things, but the topic had never been brought up in their late night conversations. that damn movie. her attention moved to the dvd sat on the coffee table, her stomach doing a little flip at the thought. that all this, this entire thing has been some joke. why want the outsider, the side character, when most could have a leading lady like her sister? mckay had liked her. nate had liked her. others had liked her. but lexi? her love life had the butt of a joke. so why the sudden change now? the play? had it really done that for her?     ❛ oh. well, it’s uhm... it’s one of king’s classics. especially with sissy spacek but.... ❜   her words trailed off as chad shifted closer, words lower and voice softer. yet, there was that small little smile tugging at the corners of his lips, the only indication that he was making a joke. hands found the cushion between them as she let it hit the side of his arm, a small laugh escaping the petite brunette’s lips.    ❛ that is super mean and i’m not forgiving you for it. ❜    lies. she’d forgive him for it because... well, it had broken the tension. she was relaxed, finally. feeling at ease and almost at home on the big comfortable sofa. not even the fact that chad had moved closer was going to make her feeling tense again.    ❛ you just revoked your pretzel privileges, i hope you know that. ❜

the  howards move  to  woodsboro  after  suze’s  cousin  dewey  is  killed,  and  they  start  a  new  life  there.  lexi  gets  involved  in  researching  the  woodsboro  murders  considering  her  family  had  a  connection  through  dewey.

the  howards  move  before  the  events  of  scream  5.  lexi  and  cassie  are  at  the  party  at  amber’s  when  ghostface  appears  once  again.  due  to  suze’s  connection  to  dewey,  lexi  and  cassie  are  caught  in  the  crossfire,  and  cassie  gets  killed  while  lexi  is  stabbed,  but  survives.  she  meets  the  other  survivors  in  the  hospital  during  rehabilitation.

𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐃𝐎𝐄𝐒 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘 𝐄𝐍𝐃?  ━━ ✦ 𝚆𝙸𝚃𝙷 𝙷𝙾𝙿𝙴 𝙵𝙾𝚁 𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙵𝚄𝚃𝚄𝚁𝙴. 

 hope  and  happiness  are  two  different  things.  maybe  you  don't  have  a  happily-ever-after  scene,  but  you  come  away  with  a  sort  of  larger  feeling  that  things  will  be  okay  in  the  end.  maybe  your  audience  feels  a  little  better,  a  little  uplifted.  that's  worth  more  than  can  be  properly  counted.  maybe  you  end  on  a  sunrise,  with  the  watery  light  all  around  you.

  𝑺𝑪𝑹𝑬𝑨𝑴 𝑽𝑬𝑹𝑺𝑬 ━━ ✦ 𝚅𝙴𝚁𝚂𝙸𝙾𝙽 𝚃𝚆𝙾 - 𝙳𝚄𝚁𝙸𝙽𝙶 & 𝙿𝙾𝚂𝚃  𝚂𝙲𝚁𝙴𝙰𝙼 𝟻 - 𝑆𝑈𝑅𝑉𝐼𝑉𝑂𝑅

    after lexi’s play airs a lot of her issues, and a lot of cassie’s issues on stage in front of everyone, suze has a few moments to reflect. in the coming days, she realizes that her two daughters have been hurt and damaged by the things that have happened in their lives and she knows she needs to give them a fresh start. 

     suze gets in contact with her cousin dwight ‘dewey’ riley and says that she’s moving herself and the girls to woodsboro. while dewey says it ain’t a great idea to move to a murder town, suze has her mind made up and soon enough the howards are packed up and moved to woodsboro. lexi keeps in contact with rue and everyone back at east highland, and has a hard time making friends with others in woodsboro, feeling a little on the outskirts of already formed friend groups. 

     lexi and cassie meet dewey once or twice before the murders start, and suze begins a tirade of ‘well why the hell did we even come here?!’ but their money is now tied up in a new home, so they’re kinda stuck and need to make the most out of it. it’s only when dewey is killed that suze wants the girls to stay inside and not put themselves in harm’s way due to the fact their relative just got murdered. 

     cassie convinces lexi to come to that big party at amber’s house, deciding that it’s the perfect place for her little sister to make some friends just like cassie has done. cassie is the life and soul of the party, while lexi hangs back. it’s only when lexi goes looking for cassie after she’s gone missing to some other bedroom, that she finds her sister on the floor in her own blood, stabbed six times. 

     lexi attempts to run, to get help but is met with a knife to the stomach, thanks to our dear friend mister ghostface. while trying to get help, lexi collapses and is later found when the medics arrive, and she’s one of the survivors sent to hospital in an ambulance, while her sister is brought out with a white sheet draped over. 

    with all this in mind, there’s a few ideas for this verse;

lexi spends some time in hospital, recuperating and recovering after the attack. she’s also grieving the loss of her sister, while simultaneously trying to be there for suze as her mother relapses into old drinking habits.

she also begins rehabilitation where she meets some of the other survivors like the meeks-martin twins.

  updated lexi’s carrd a little bit. fixed the mains, added some info. and later i’ll be adding in the scream verses, etc. and working on other verses too, like maybe a fantasy verse, maybe a grisha verse, etc.

       rows of framed posters, names such as yeaworth, siegel and of course hitchcock adorning the bottom of each. excitement almost bubbled up within her chest, but composure was held with a cool exterior. she didn’t need to blow it now, not when she was barely even there. yet, the whole home cinema layout had made her extremely excited from the moment she’d stepped inside. she knew about their shared love for movies, and maybe that was one of the reasons she’d said yes to coming over. a movie night, with popcorn, pretzels and.... ---- well, good company was definitely a plus. and with someone nice? oh her mom would be happy. hell, cassie would be happy. chad was seemingly the perfect guy. football player, nice guy, good looking. so the idea that he wanted to spend time with lexi howard of all people... it was unheard of. also the reason lexi was considering watching carrie to prepare. was this all some big joke?    ❛ even your posters are cool... ❜   a small turn on her heel and she was almost beaming back at him where he sat on the couch. side stepping around, she came to rest on the other side, about a cushion’s length from where chad had placed himself. she might have been put at ease over the fact that chad hadn’t set off any red flags yet, but the appearance of carrie on the table in front of them hadn’t gone amiss.     ❛ are we.... --- are we watching carrie? ❜

     a few months before the play, suze got word that her cousin dwight ‘dewey’ riley had been killed in his hometown of woodsboro. while dewey didn’t have much at all, as evidenced in scream 5, he did have some small amounts put away, one of which was given to suze. she was going to use it to get a brand new hot tub (especially after the last time cassie and the others used it), but she decides to use it on getting the girls out of east highland.

      lexi is of course not happy about leaving, neither is cassie, but with lexi still being in school, etc. suze makes the decision for her, and they move a few weeks after the play is finished. lexi finds it hard fitting into a new place, with new people she doesn’t know, especially in a town so well known for ..... well, murder. but because of that, she decides to research what happened, find out the real story behind the woodsboro murders and not the shitty version found on screen in the ‘stab’ movies. 

    with all this in mind, there’s a few ideas for this verse;

lexi decides to learn about her mom’s family, aka dewey who was suze’s cousin, and therefore she ends up learning about gale weathers - a writer who she never really thought much of until now when she learns the anchorwoman is writing a book about dewey

lexi becomes friends with some of the survivors from scream 5, aka mindy, etc. because lexi is in fact quite interested in movies and has some things in common with them like that.
