She read a few pages in, eyes slowly scanning the page. Lexi quirked a brow before scanning over a sentence she had already read. She looked back up to Loki. "Wow, I didn't know gods could be animals as well. The more you know" she said, chuckling softly, "you ever heard of Ganesh?" She said, curious to know the other's answer. She had only heard of the god name a couple of times in a past high school class, but she didn't really pay enough attention in classes, learning things on her own time was where she was taught most of the knowledge she had now.

She had giggled as Loki led her to her seat, sitting down and watching as the other had sat next to her. “Thank you Sir” she said, smiling. Lexi had pulled out her book and had picked up where she had left off, eyes slowly scanning through the page.
A glance to the side as she read confirmed that she was focused on her book, at least so far. He kept his posture light, open, receptive to the concept of being watched, just in case she might become invited by it. The book was simple, naturally, and he might have finished it off in only a handful of moments, but he instead chose to study its details and its layout, as if it were a piece of anthropological data. In a way, it was.

She nodded and set the book that was in her arms in her bookbag, she’d remember to check it out before she left of course, but for now her task to help Loki was the first on her list.
“They’re not too far away I believe. Childrens books interpret mythology very imaginative if I say so myself. Not that I haven’t read any recently” she said shyly, noticing how that may have sounded to him. “I took a mythology class in college for a general studies degree and my professor had us see how different books explained religion and polytheism, through books for adults, and kids. It was one of my favorite classes” she smiled.
Alexis led Loki to a shelf about 20 feet away from where they were, scanning the shelf for the books Loki had spoke of, then taking one off, the book titled “Tales of the Norse Gods” and handed it to the other. “Let me know if it’s not what you’re looking for and I’ll see if I can find another one!”
Listening as they walked, hands freed and clasped behind his back as he’d replaced his previous choice, Loki watched her interest in the memory. He, too, had fond memories of childhood instruction, though no doubt fewer of them stemmed from the instruction itself. Of course, though he knew that humans’ “college” was a time past childhood, he was also aware that what was taught inside those classrooms was on par with what children in Asgard learned early.
Not that he thought their education worthless, on the contrary. The imaginings of children and those who cared for them led to much of his entertainment. Case in point, the present search. Once in-hand, Loki turned the book over, admiring the illustration of its cover. Yes, imagination, indeed. An amused smile stretched his cheek as he mentally compared the rendering of Odin to other, similarly conjured reverent beings of humanity’s stories and legends. The ‘Santa Claus’ was first in mind, leading Loki to stifle a quiet laugh.
“I’m sure this will do, for a start, thank you,” he replied aloud. “Are they all so… colorful?” Comical might have served better, though the connotation may have led her away from providing him with more.

"Of course, we can't have you running off with a book that you weren't interested in. I've done that plenty of times, trust me" she chuckled softly, face turning a light red out of embarassment. She noticed the gesture to his arm and a light smile had broken out on her face. "I'd love to read with you, Loki" she replied, looping her arm in the others, looking again at the way his eyes stood out, it made her blush a bit frankly.

“I suppose so, children's books tend to be that way, it lures them in I suppose, as well as people my age. I enjoy colorful things, makes something more appealing, more happier” she said with a smile. “Well...if that’s all the help you need, I should be going back to my book, unless you’d like to join me while reading your book? I don’t want to intrude if you have other plans though” she scratched the back of her neck, something she did when she was nervous. Lexi had hoped the other didn’t find her annoying, as some people tended to think of her as. She was just exciting about the things she loved, like mythology, and she wanted to share her knowledge and love with someone else who shared the same interest.

She smiled softly as the other shook her hand, noticing how soft his hands had been. She wouldn’t dare say anything about that though, not to man she had just met.
As Loki had said his name she quirked a brow and laughed softly. “Don’t think I’ve ever met a Loki before, nice to meet you” Her eyes trailed the book his hands were going down the spine of and then back to him, noting the very green eyes. “What are you looking for? I know the library semi-forwards and backwards. If we end up getting lost though at least we’ll make a good conversation out of it” she chuckled softly.
“I suppose you could say my… parents… were fond of the Old Stories.” It wasn’t even a lie, which amused him more than the line itself. Odin was, in fact, completely enamored with his own histories and exploits.
He could see her eyes as they traveled to his hands, back to his face, meeting his own gaze, and he felt at last vindicated that he’d so easily captured her attentions. While he didn’t have any particular plans on what to do with them, as of yet, at least he had them.
As for her question… “Something actually, not like these,” he indicated the shelf they were near. “Do you know if this building keeps more imaginative interpretations of the older tales?”

She had begun to scan through the first page of her book when her eyes flicked back up to where the raven-haired man was. He had moved, and closer to her no less. ‘Perhaps he likes mythology as well’ Lexi had thought to herself for a second. The man had moved to the aisle that she had been going through before she had sat down, watching as he scanned the books with a stern face, but with slight curiosity as well. She bookmarked her page and slowly got up, hoping she wouldn’t startle him as she neared closer, her book in her arms.
“Excuse me, are you looking for anything in particular? I’ve read this bookshelf forwards and backwards” she said softly, a blush coming onto her face out of embarrassment. “I don’t work here either, but if you’d like some help I’d be more than happy to try” she held out one of her hands, the other holding her book clutch to her chest. “Alexis, or Lexi for short” she smiled softly.
Whatever it might yet have yielded, his plan worked–the young woman had risen from her seat not long at all after Loki had entered the outer edges of her proximity. Not only had she come closer, but she had offered first contact, more brazen than he’d expected, and a welcome change.
Caught off-guard only for the smallest of moments at the name he hadn’t expected to encounter so easily on Earth, Loki made quick work of raising his own hand to shake hers. He kept the touch light, but firm enough not to hinder the pleasantry. Humans often seemed to find themselves off-track if something so simple as a handshake didn’t go or feel as planned.
“Loki,” he responded in kind, and then, his peripheral vision catching a glimpse of all-too-familiar runes running down the spine of a book inches from his head, he chuckled. “No relation, of course.” It was a near laugh that joined the caveat, a tilt of his head towards the ‘Norse Myth’ volume whose golden lettering set it apart from many of the other tomes with which it resided. With a sheepish-looking smile, he added, “I admit I’m not as well-traveled in these aisles as you seem to be.”

It had been over half a year since Lexi had left working with SHIELD. Since the attack on New York. She was glad that she at least made it out alive, for some people hadn’t. She didn’t think she could bear to be with the company anyways after what had happened so she left, turning in her ID and anything else they needed from her.
That was 6 months ago. She still lived in Manhattan, still close to the city. She worked on and off at a greenhouse, mostly watering plants and helping people find nice things to accent their house with. It was a calm job, nothing too exciting, and she was fine with that.
The red-haired girl walked into a library that wasn’t too far away from her house, setting her books in the return bin and walking up the large flight of spiral stairs to the second floor, where all the bookshelves and the sitting area was. Lexi had been very interested in fiction novels at the moment, as well as mythology. Although she was agnostic of sorts, she loved learning about what other people believed in. If the world was made by someone, there was no way that it was just one person, which is why she leaned more towards polytheistic religions.
She walked over to the section about hindu gods and saw a decent sized book that looked brand new, so she took it off the shelf and moved over to a seat near one of the big windows, sitting down and opening the book. She noticed a tall man walking about the area as well, raven hair down to his shoulders. She smiled to herself, appreciating that people still came in to read books and relax in the middle of the day, it was nice.

She feigned hurt for a couple of seconds but what he said was actually true, they hadn't really told her anything before they left so, they did kind of leave her in the dust.
"Or, you could always tell me yourself, you can trust me you know, or just humor me, nobody's here anyways" she shrugged

"Oh, the comments will come later, trust me" she sneered. The man who had walked her over took the chain-leash thag bound her hand and ankle shackles out of his hand and into Crowleys, then walking away to aid other potential buyers, leaving the two alone.
As he walked towards her she noticed the very strong cologne that he had worn. Was it to mask something? Or did he really like wearing that much? She dare not ask, but she made a mental note of it regardless.
"I'm......not scared" Lexi replied, her voice slightly cracking. She flinched at hearing her own voice crack and cleared her throat, attempting to regain her composure. "Take me wherever you want to, they'll find me anyways" she shrugged, "I'll be out soon enough, King" Lexi spat.

Hunter. No mistake, no doubt. Her stature alone gave that away even if she’d attempted to hide it. That, and he’d seen her around. When a hunter started making themselves known as nuisance, that’s when Crowley took notice. He’d been keeping tabs on her from a distance but he hadn’t expected her to end up in such a situation as this. Still, there was an opportunity here. He bought the huntress and smirked right in her face as she was handed over to him. “Well well, how the mighty have fallen. How was the trip, love?”

As he let her so she instinctively put her hands at her sides, her face a deep shade of red, unbeknownst to the fact that Hux had seen both of their faces during the whole interaction.
She nodded softly as Kylo mentioned the need of equipment, wondering what all he would give her. Whatever he would let her have, she would use to their best ability and not let him down. "Yes Sir" she followed suit, catching up to him and walking at his pace. How was he so tall? And fast?

“Sorry, Lord Ren” she apologized, standing back at the distance before and digging her hands into her sides as to not grab anything else.
Instinctively, Kylo had reached out and caught Lexi as she’d collided with him. Only a second or two later did he realize he was still holding onto her, and he let her go just as she retreated from him, putting her hands to her sides.
“It’s alright,” Ren replied with an awkward nod. Had it gotten warm suddenly? His cheeks felt flushed. He grimaced and tried to compose himself, not noticing that General Hux was quietly observing everything and an ever so slight smirk had formed on his lips.
“It will take some time to reach our coordinates, even at lightspeed,” Kylo explained to Lexi. “You will need equipment to assist in tracking the lightsaber. Follow me.” Kylo intended to take Lexi to the quartermaster where she could get the gear she needed to accompany him.

theraggedsaber: Kylo shook his head in reply. "No. The jump to lightspeed will be smooth...but I'm sure you'll want to see it." He gestured for Lexi to follow him to the viewport.
When they were positioned in front of it, he said softly, "Now, watch..."
Behind them, General Hux called out, "Jump to lightspeed, in five...four...three...two...one! Jump!"
In front of Kylo and Lexi, the stars streaked out around them and there was a great burst of speed as they rushed into hyperspace.

She wasn’t sure if she had been doing much help, and definitely wasn’t hoping that she had started leading them on a goose chase, but he was depending on her, and she wanted to try her absolute best to return what was rightfully his in her eyes, and the small smile that Kylo had mustered was enough to her to show that he cared.
“Very well,” Kylo nodded before turning to General Hux. “Prepare the Finalizer for a hyperspace jump, General.” Ren punched in the coordinates and added, “The location is in the navicomputer.”
“I beg your pardon, Ren,” Hux sneered, “but I don’t take orders from YOU. You’re not my commanding officer.”
“True,” Kylo said before turning and glaring at Hux. “But the Supreme Leader’s commands are clear. Do you care to explain to him why they’re not being obeyed?”
Hux’s face reddened and his eyes shimmered with a fiery hatred for Kylo Ren. Then, he turned to his navigator. “Lock coordinates; prepare for hyperspace jump!”
Ren turned back and glanced at Lexi, who had been watching the exchange. He couldn’t resist giving her a very slight smirk, as if to revel in his victory.

She looked around the bridge of the Finalizer and watched as too many people to count were doing various things on computers and screens, ones that she definitely didn’t know how to control. She then turned back to Kylo and listened to the conversation that he was having with General Hux, who she had seen when she first got onto the ship with Kylo. ‘Still as uptight’ she thought to herself. As the ginger (who was now a very deep shade of red) was slamming the coordinates into the navigator she couldn't help but quirk an eyebrow at Hux when his back was turned as to not get in any trouble. As Kylo smirked at her, her fave turned a light shade of red itself
Not for the reason of Hux’s, of course.
“Should I brace onto something?” she asked softly, looking around as the ship started to shake
