shine bright - gig016 | solo
doing review videos was nothing new for jiyeon. the last one she’d done was years ago, she’d stopped once things were getting more serious at legacy and social media was limited for trainees. there was a few she had done and edited but had just sent to her friends to review some of the korean skin care items she’d gotten after moving to the country. a few of her friends had changed their routines and she wanted to help them out since they wanted her opinion due to her easy access to the products.
when she was sent the promo package to review for shine forever, it was a familiar feeling and had her pretty excited. it took a day for her to finish up all her outstanding chores and schedules. she hadn’t opened the package until her camera was set up, which truly tested her patience.
once everything was set up at the desk she usually did her makeup at, which had a good share of natural lighting usually, she hit record on her camcorder.
“hello!” it’s easy to fall back into her gentle charismatic filming voice. she doesn’t sound much different than usual but there was a certain way she knew worked for the camera. “my name is song jiyeon and i received a package from shine forever to review-“ she lifts the small box into the camera’s view. it only takes a moment or two to fully open the box and lift out the card and product. she reads the card and explains the concept of the makeup. “first off, i think the concept is very unique and the packaging is pretty.” she leans in as if sharing secret information with and invisible audience, “i’m a sucker for pretty products~”
she takes a moment to show the product closer, opening it up to show how the actual makeup looks too. “this is a highlighting stick, which is something that can polish off any look if used in the right way.” her camera is in front of her mirror so it’s easy to show which way to tilt her cheek just perfectly to catch the light. “if you apply it just a bit here,” jiyeon taps a few very small streaks over her cheek bone, moving in with her finger to blend it in with her foundation. “ooo, very pretty so far- i like the reflectiveness!”
she pauses to show both her highlighted and non-highlighted cheeks before holding up her hand, rubbing a generous streak on the back of it. “oh this is so pretty!” she lifts her hand up to her nose and smells it. “it smells nice, very light scent; personally i like non-scented items but this is light enough and natural smelling.”
“overall,” she lightly clasps her hands together, “i think this will be a great addition to my daily makeup routine. jiyeon’s personal stamp of approval! thank you to shine forever for sending me this product!”

follow me - lgcbabysitting | @lgcxmax
this was one of the event schedules that jiyeon was most looking forward to this month. sure, she loved the fashion-focussed ones where she could model, but ones she could model her personality and interact more with what was happening tended to interest her more. the babysitting schedule she had been briefed on seemed especially fun. kids tended to hit or miss whether they liked her or not. some automatically seemed to think she was shallow and wouldn’t waste their time with her but some tended to stick like glue. she had hoped that today would follow the latter trend.
she got what she hoped for but not in the way she thought it would happen. one of the little boys, dressed in a bright green shirt with cute dinosaurs decorating the front and back had caught her pants as she’d walked past the rug he was standing on. she silently thanked her forethinking in not wearing a skirt, originally avoiding having to cover up with a blanket every time she sat, but now it had the added benefit of something the kids could use to keep up with her even if it was by unexpected grabbing.
the kid wasn’t with the rest of the groups so jiyeon crouched down to his head with her head cocked to the side. “who were you with before? did you lose them?” she kept her voice low but not whispering. the boy nodded and pointed over to one of the smaller groups. there was only max and one of the camera crew in that bubble of the room so jiyeon gently took the child’s hand and headed over.
“max, hi!” she greeted in english with a smile. she switched back to korean to address the boy, “was it him?” jiyeon sent max a small smirk, lips twisting with her next words. “you let one straggle away… tut tut”

it’s me again - lgcstyle | @lgcxmax
it seemed like jiyeon had just parted with max. they’d been in the same group for babysitting which was a fun, yet very tiring experience. the kids were so cute, not quite cute enough to spike any type of baby fever, but nice to interact with and be able to go home without.
now jiyeon found herself mentoring team crystallis, which funnily enough had quite a few people she personally knew from the company. her schedules now, and subsequent move from the trainee dorms into the entertainment dorms, didn’t allow too much interaction with people who were not her roommate, brother, or coworkers in each event. max was another familiar face and she was glad she was able to see him so soon after the babysitting project.
the team was already impressing her from what she saw of their work and she was relieved that her mentorship would mostly consist of suggestions and tweaking instead of fixing. from how all her teammates had shown up, stylish and chic, she should have known they wouldn’t bring her too many worries.
as she walked over she gently tapped max’s shoulder, careful to keep it quick so that it wouldn’t be mistaken by the cameras as anything but friendly. “happy to get crystallis?”

it was a little overwhelming, just how busy she'd been in the past few weeks. it seemed like everything really picked up after the lunar new year and never really slowed back down. she was happy to have things to do, obviously, it all helped her career and a lot of the things she was scheduled to do were actually fun. although fun, it was very tiring and she had to be diligent in getting to sleep at a decent hour every night so she wouldn't wake up looking anything but her best. maybe it was vanity, but she wanted to look her best when she was on screen-- it was kind of her job.
because she was so busy her communication to friends was suffering. she had a few minutes here and there on breaks to use her phone and relax but that time was usually spent making sure her phone's calendar was accurate and up to date, any other time was spent checking in on her brother since she couldn't do so in person.
when jiyeon noticed alec was on her team, she was excited. although they wouldn't be able to interact too much on camera, she'd at least get to catch up with him on their breaks from filming. it felt a bit weird to be the mentor on his team since they were friends, but it would be nice to see how he worked in the challenge.
she pulls away from the table she was at when one of the cameras follows alec's path to her. "honestly, very happy i was assigned to this one-- the concept is just my style." her eyes light up at the progress the team had made and the fabric that was in his hands. it was beautiful and immediately caught her eye, and would catch most others'. "oh, you definitely lucked out... this is gorgeous." she goes to reach other and looks over to him for permission. "i think this would work with the concept well; it's different than what someone might first think of for crystals which is literal gems. the shine is like the lustre of them."
COSMOS for @lgcjiyeon
whenever he gets to work with friends that he hasn’t talked to in a while—either due to life in general or from all of them now being on different career paths—it’s very exciting for him. and he hasn’t spoken to jiyeon in quite a long time, and he’s not even sure when the last time was. he thinks he might’ve sent her a meme over instagram dms a few weeks ago, but even he can’t really recall this right now.
either way, the fact that he was on her team for lgc style is very exciting for him and he can’t wait to catch up. of course, he’ll be sure to work on the show too but alec is just happy to be working with a friend.
“what are your thoughts on this island?” he asks, aware of the cameras on them as he walks over with what he and naeun had found during their little outing to the fabric store. they hadn’t really thought they would find much inspiration there, considering he wasn’t too sure about making clothes but it seemed to be a good way to get something going. considering they could also just use the fabric he was holding to add to already existing clothes was something that he was focusing on. “i found this and thought that it could add to the like … crystal vibe for crystallis?”

there was so many of them. little hands grasping things that were made just to their size. little clothes and shoes a clone of what her and others her age were wearing. it was funny to see the current fashion trends reflected on kids half their size or less.
after a gruelling game of floor is lava, she really didn't know how these kids had seemingly endless amounts of energy for jumping, jiyeon was relieved to sit down. the trade-off of having to 'eat' and 'drink' at the make-believe tea party was definitely worth it. her feet were cursing her and probably would be for the rest of the week.
the kids at the table were truly cute but personally, she's very biased. as much as she went on and on about jiahn stealing her baby status in the song household, she loved him and he had been a very, very, cute baby. babysitting him was annoying in the moment, despite the fact that she'd made allowance off of it. sitting now, surrounded by little kids, she couldn't help but think back to the cutest kid she knew. she could see his cute pudgy baby smile in all of these kids.
"hmm...?" she looks up from where she'd been tying one of the girls' shoelaces to one of her partners. the pot she’s holding is brightly coloured and the items inside are even more so.
"yummy, i think the crab really will tie in the flavours-- don't you minhee-ssi?" she looks to the girl sitting near somin who had been the 'chef' in charge of the mystery soup. "i think me and this princess here," she gestures to the girl she'd just helped out, "would love some." if this was real life and jiyeon had eaten as many courses as they had pretend eaten, she's sure somin would see true pain in her eyes.
"do you think they'll even remember us by tomorrow?" she whispers to the younger girl, keeping an eye out to make sure none of them were paying attention to them at the moment.
/ MAD HATTER
for @lgcjiyeon
now this? this she could get used to.
there’s a little play kitchen area in the daycare that they’re at and she’s been roped into sitting at a tiny table with jiyeon and also a bunch of stuffed animals as they’re served tea and way too many meals for how long they’ve been sitting there. she thinks she’s play-eaten ten times her weight at this point, but the little girls that they’re playing with are just happy to serve them something and hear her reply with ‘mmm’ or ‘this is delicious’ and somin can’t fault them for that.
other than the fact that she literally feels bored out of her mind, she’s really not mad at all. after playing tag with some of the boys and also playing one of the most intense games of hide-and-seek ever, she’s happy to be sitting here.
turning to jiyeon, she holds up a little plastic pot that’s filled with too many things that probably shouldn’t be put together as a soup, her expression curious. “unnie, would you like some …” she glances over the plastic ingredients inside the pot and grimaces at the thought of the taste before offering it to the older girl.
“i think it’s cake, crab, strawberry and bread soup?”

jiyeon is still giggling by the time she makes it to the bathrooms to clean up. there’s colourful confetti pieces all throughout her hair, made more vibrant in contrast with her black hair. there’s a few other girl trainees in there with her, all trying to pick out the flimsy paper pieces from their outfits and hair.
she had been close under one of the ceiling fans, taking on most of the dropped surprises. a few of the girls had shrieked, and while jiyeon hadn’t made a loud sound, she’d still been very surprised in the moment.
it’s irony biting her in the ass; as soon as she thinks that, she notices the balloons and then they’re popping. she’s not proud of the sound that leaves her throat at the loud splitting sound. she hates loud sounds like that but she was lucky enough to notice the balloons before they popped.
in her years at legacy, this has got to be the most elaborate april fools prank done so far.
“um, would you all want to take a photo? for fun memories? I’m gonna ask to see if it can be posted on sns, but even if it’s denied I think it would be fun just to keep to remember,” she smiles gently at them. most of them are receptive, only one girl who had already gotten most of the confetti untangled from her had denied and left the bathroom with a small smile. she gathers them over and pulls her phone out and adjusts to the right angle to get everyone in the mirror.
“I think we all look super cute, too! I hope they let us post it.”
the lighting in the bathroom isn’t the best but they all still look good so she’s relieved. the more flattering it is, the better their chances are to get management to approve.

“i was such a bad student,” she reminisces, staring off into the distance as she brings up memories from her high school days. “our uniforms weren’t this cute either, but i tried to make them cuter. i was always getting in trouble for rolling up my skirt to make it shorter. all sorts of dress code… what’s the word in korean? when you don’t do it right. i got in trouble a lot.” she knows the word violation in her native tongue, but she’d rather know how to say it properly in korean. “i don’t feel like i want to change this, though. i already look cute.” the girl grins brightly.
“what show?” does jiyeon mean their turns in front of the camera? or is there something else going on that yinuo didn’t pay attention to? it’s totally possible; when understanding a second language gets too hard, she tends to zone out entirely.
the younger model is fun and cute, and jiyeon kind of wants to adopt her as a little sister or something. it's been a while since something had made her genuinely laugh, but she makes sure she's quiet about it as to not let anyone outside of their little pocket of space hear.
"yes, just like that, actually." the girls definitely knows her body and what looks good. jiyeon remembers spending way too much time in front of her long mirror at home before leaving for school, judging different angles with her body-- what looked cute, what to avoid. it helped slightly when she had a crush's eye to catch, but it was mostly for her own reference. she didn't care about being the prettiest in school, it was never a vain thing for her, but it was fun to acknowledge and understand how her body might look to people other than herself. if she ever went into a public-facing job, it would probably help.
"oh, violations? my school wasn't very strict on accessories but i definitely toed the line.." jiyeon would deny ever being anything less than a perfect student to her family, she essentially was, but she was stubborn and enjoyed the cute pleasantries of life; if she wanted to wear anklets, she was going to one way or another.
"ah, the ptwhy show," she keeps an eye on the staff before turning back to yinuo. "it's one of the shows lgcagency has some of us in, are you going?" she pulls out her phone quickly to check the dates on her calendar. "it's march 18th, i was going to attend even if i wasn't participating. it's always good to go to things like this if you can get an entrance ticket, learn peoples' faces and names even if you don't meet them, because you might work with them in the future."

LGC Style Audition - Solo
Rough reference for her outfit here: xx (the top half)
Rough reference for her creation here: xx
+ gingham: xx
the lgc style youtube channel news came as somewhat of a surprise to jiyeon. it was a great idea, and would probably help gain views for the agency and as a result, more attention to the artists signed. the auditions for the fashion show event also came as a surprised but one jiyeon was more invested in-- it seemed really fun and she'd love to be a host and see what those who signed up brought to the table.
her audition was scheduled somewhat early in the morning so jiyeon took care to be quiet in the dorm as got ready, so as not to wake mirae, and ate her toast and berry salad. usually she'd allow herself some beloved peach yogurt, but with her audition being so early she didn't want to risk being bloated from the dairy.
--
"good morrning, my name is song jiyeon. i'm a fourth year model with lgc agency. thank you for having me."
jiyeon turns to show her back for a moment before returning to face the table of senior staff, director and producer. "i'll start head to toe, if that's alright, as that's usually how i determine my outfits." she reaches and pulls lightly on the fabric of her blouse's flowy arms, then at the tighter light pink shirt layered on top over her midsection.
"since this was for an audition I chose to overlap the pink on white. the pink is a brighter colour that pulls attention without being obnoxious; the pink combined with white gives off a nice effect, soft and inviting. to keep fashionable without looking overdressed for the event I paired it with light-washed blue jeans tapered at the ankle."
she motions down and points her foot out and to the side to showcase her shoe choice. "the beige and tan sneakers finish the look cleanly. they don't stand out and draw attention, but if you look down and happen to notice them, they complete the look."
they usher her over to the side with the blank mannequin and table of clothes and accessories. she has only fifteen minutes to style it, which is much more than she allows herself in the morning. in high school she used to spend so much time styling herself she risked being late-- she soon learned to limit herself to five to ten minutes unless it was for a special occasion.
she takes a few moments to stare at her blank canvas, humming under her breath as she visualizes a basis she can work with and fit the available clothes around. once she has her silhouette down, she shuffles through the table, picking up the appropriate pieces. once she has that down, she goes for the accessories which only takes a moment, taking a simple approach. she checks the time once all the clothes are on the mannequin, accessories pinned where they are to be worn if on an actual model. just closing on the fifteen minute mark-- perfect.
"i'm finished--" she smiles gently and gestures to the lifeless model beside her. "i'll start head to toe again starting with the clothing. i've chosen this tweed oversized bomber jacket. oversized garments are in high demand right now. the print is a nice gingham which pulls the eye to the pattern, it looks expensive but tasteful. gingham isn't really in the shops at this time but I don't believe in strictly sticking to fashion trends. our job isn't following trends, it's about starting them!"
she pulls the jacket back a bit to show the shirt below. "i've paired it with a cream-coloured turtleneck. the shade is lighter than the gingham jacket so it doesn't create a washed out effect, no one wants to look drowned in their clothes. it's still quite chilly so although the jacked is open style, the model can stay warm but look chic." she crouches quickly to pick up one of the shoes she'd laid near the mannequin's 'feet'. "i went with these leather slippers. they're lined so again, keeping warm while staying cool. they don't have an obvious brand marker but if you know your high-ends, you will be able to tell these are gucci. this allows the option of brand sponsorship if you pair with a sidebag or satchel with the brand on display."
she sets the shoe back down and gestures to the head. "i'd like to think with the model's hair pulled back in some way, whether slicked back or in a ponytail, these earrings would work as a statement." the earrings are simple, gold coloured, and one a longer chain than the other. "i'm partial to imbalanced earrings since they're very cute and tend to draw attention to the neck point or hair. they're very fun!"
she steps away from the mannequin and bows, "i personally would wear this and could imagine any current girlgroup idol, soloist, or actor wearing this on their way to their next schedule or for their airport look. it's something i would see on tv or in person and go to the person and ask where they got this or that." she smiles and bows again, "thank you for your time today and i hope what i created was something you also would pay attention to."

“zhao yinuo,” she shakes the other girl’s hand when it’s offered, ducking her head in a slight bow when she remembers she should be more respectful and less casual with her seniors. “are we friends? how old are you?” she wants to make sure she minds her manners, even if she realizes it a bit belatedly. “i’m already a little old for a uniform… i’m twenty.”
a big smile hasn’t left her face, though. despite the nerves, the jittery excitement to get in front of the camera, yinuo is in a good mood. she’s excited to do her best, to see some of her hard work at the company pay off with this opportunity even if it does seem a little too soon. she’s not sure that she’s earned this yet, but she’s going to try damn hard to make sure she lives up to the responsibility.
“don’t worry! i can tell you are-- it’s just easy to lose it once you’re in front of the actual team.”
she’s glad that the other girl seems nice, jiyeon despised dealing with stuck up model and especially ones that thought they were above whatever shoot they were at. “mm, usually the director has a vision and will guide your poses-- at least in my bit of experience, but you can always just move into new ones after they get their shot because sometimes on the off chance, you’ll do something they didn’t think of and like.” she points out to whoever is currently up under the lights. “see they do whatever is told to them and then after a few clicks, they’ll try something slightly different. looking over the shoulder or tilting your head always works!”
she notices the girl beside her fidgeting but doesn’t point it out, she’d been in the same spot just weeks ago.
“yinuo?” she tests it out on her tongue, eyes flickering up to check if she’s said it right before smiling and shrugging. “we can be! i turned 23 just recently so i’m in the same boat--”
she smooths out the pleats in her skirt. “i haven’t been in a uniform in so long and they were never as cute as this... i’m kind of relieved we were scheduled for this so we could wear them one last time without it being weird?” there was still the trend of renting uniforms for lotte world but that was more something she’d heard of through other trainees- never having been able to experience it herself.
“are you excited for the show?”

Gift Submit #8
Valentine’s Day was not a holiday that Tee was particularly fond of. It was a day for couples to flaunt their relationships publicly and for people to embarrass themselves with rejections. It was a silly holiday that Tee couldn’t stand. Still, there were people that liked it and plus he had a bet with another trainee over who could hand out the most candies. So, despite his hatred of the dang holiday, he still had a mission and no matter what, Tee was going to win this bet.
Due to his introverted nature, there were many of his fellow trainees and even idols whom he simply did not know. Thankfully, this was a secret and anonymous event and so he didn’t have to worry about how embarrassing it would be to approach a stranger and hand them a gift bag of candies or chocolates. The more gifts he left for strangers, the more he realised just how few people he knew within the company. He wondered if his sister knew all these trainees. Attached to the bag of chocolates was a small note, written in his neat handwriting. The paper he’d ‘borrowed’ from Arin in the hopes of distracting the recipients from thinking it was from him.

♡ ⏤ valentine surprise
it was unlike him to put so much effort into something that was going be devour later on. however, he had some time to kill and surprisingly enough this was relaxing. the night prior keeho had made sure that everything was done. each bag of sweet had a note attached to it. there wasn’t any thought to it. he just wanted to add something punny, to the sweet.
the plan was blend in. all the sweets were hidden in his duffle bag ( a clean one - dont worry no smelly practice or gym clothes in there ). with some to time to spare he walked into a random room where an unattended bag was in plain sight. quietly walking over he dropped his valentine sweets and left before being notice.
the note attached :
“Why did the husband get his wife a kitten for Valentine’s Day?
He thought it was the purrfect present. ”

Taiiyou had just turned the corner when he saw a familiar face and smiled. He knew Jiyeon from modeling but despite that they had never really spoken before, but maybe he should change that? Pulling his bag around to his front, he pulled out a small bag of candies and approached her. “Happy Valentine’s Day,” he said softly, “I hope we can work well together in the future.” And with that Taiyou gave her a small smile and left.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Let’s be friends in the future!

[VALENTINE’S DAY 2022]
Jinseo keeps the bags of candy in his bag, burying them among his things in case anyone asks about them. The need for secrecy never gets old, no matter how many times he does this. Besides, he supposes it’s a good way to spread some positivity in the company. It never hurts to try being someone both his seniors and juniors can look up to.
As a good senior, Jinseo decides to help welcome the newer models to the career path. In between fashion show rehearsals, Jinseo hands Jiyeon a small bag of candy when their manager isn’t looking.
“Happy Valentine’s Day, Jiyeon. Welcome to the modeling path! If you ever need anything, don’t be afraid to ask me for help, okay?“ - Jinseo

@lgcjiyeon
yinuo can’t dwell on her own good looks for too long, lest she becomes narcissus and never leaves her reflection ever again, so she tears herself away from the mirror and goes to wait for her turn in front of the camera. there’s group shots and solo shots, and she waits for cues from the photographers and directors about where they want her and when.
“this is exciting,” she whispers to the girl standing nearby, presumably also waiting her turn. she looks a bit older, perhaps more experienced in this than yinuo is. it’s her first gig as a trainee and she can’t help the nervous excitement. “have you modeled before? do you have any tips?” sure, yinuo knows how to look absolutely fantastic in front of her iphone camera, but this stuff is a little bit bigger. “are you nervous? i am. i’ve never done anything like this before.” she can’t help but babble even when her words are still simple, heavily accented by a tongue that hasn’t fully adapted to a new language yet.
the whole shoot reminds jiyeon of cafeterias and after-school clubs, the metallic tang of her locker that she'd talk to her friends at, tired nights spent studying. it'd been a handful of years since she graduated but she was lucky enough to still pass for a somewhat fresh graduate. which she assumes is why she finds herself modelling for a school uniform line. it was probably also their tactic to get slightly older models to push the cool factor, students didn't want to see acne-ridden people their age-- they wanted to buy into the fashion and illusion of popularity.
her high school back home did have a dress code with uniforms but they were never this stylish. sure, she'd made sure to alter to her own taste without getting in trouble but it was nothing like the uniforms in korea. she loved how cute they made her feel.
it was kind of sad how nostalgic it made her feel. she didn't miss homework or tests or anything but she had loved the social aspect of school. she knew almost all the students of her year and a huge chunk of the students in the upper and lower grades-- it was where she had thrived.
jiyeon zones back in when she hears the voice of the girl beside her. "mm, it is!" she looks over, it's not someone she recognizes-- slightly younger than her and not a familiar face in her dorm building. she's cute though, and seems nice from how she's holding herself.
"a bit! i'm still bit of a newbie around here but what i do know is just be confident even if you don't feel so-- the cameras pick up that kind of thing in your body language." she chuckles and turns to fully look at the other girl, "i would know unfortunately, but most of the times the shoot directors will guide you, they're pretty helpful!"
she chances another look over at the management team to make sure it wasn't her time. "i'm still nervous, you're not alone." she offers her hand out, "it's easier when you have friends around you though-- my name is song jiyeon, what's yours?"

Breathe in, breathe out, you’ll be okay. nerves were slightly getting to her despite this not being her first shoot. jiyeon had been on set before and it was nothing new to her but the fact that this was the first big project she was working on after moving into the agency’s dorms.
they had all done a lot to prepare for the final fashion show- full days of makeup touch ups and hair styling and changing from outfit to outfit. it was fun and jiyeon was actually learning a lot from the older models on set. she’d been given many little tips, most of them given with a smile and nod of their head- only a few maliciously. she took everything in stride and as overall thankful for the tips so that she could prepare for the show confidently.
“Jiyeon, it’s better if you tilt your head this way to suit your face.”
“You’re going to need to display more of the outfit- try angling your hips out.”
“You’ll never make it if you keep that stupid look on your face, straighten out your lips.”
At the end of the photoshoots she was exhausted and wanted nothing more than to leap into her bed, but took the time to discuss with her sunbaes and ask if there was anything she could do to correct stuff she’d maybe done wrong during the shoot.
It was important to her to build relationships with the people she would or might work with in the future— even if it didn’t necessarily bring her any benefits, it would be nice to have some friends.
The upcoming fashion show for PTWHY was going to be a new experience for her but hopefully it was one that was going to help her learn and grow and that was the most important outcome.
