surprise visits.

it had been a hot minute since junkyu had gifted some cacti plants to sanghyun when he had visited a while ago, complaining that his apartment was looking.. a bit too bare. he even remembers leaving a little written reminder on his fridge to make sure he didn't forget to look after them, and with a little bit of free time on his hands, junkyu decided to make a surprise visit to check on them.

and to see his favorite hyung too, of course.

but he doesn't come empty handed, he comes with a brand new cacti plant nestled safely in his hands as he happily walks into sanghyun's apartment. "hyung, i brought a special guest." junkyu calls out, making his way further into his apartment and towards the kitchen where he settles the, in his opinion, pretty cute cacti plant onto the counter. "i saw it on my way back from training yesterday so i decided to buy another one for you. but, you can only have it if you've managed to keep the other ones alive," he grins playfully, resting his elbows against the counter. "did you kill them yet or are they still breathing?"

interview solo interview workshop

family and childhood, it brought back so many memories for jisoo. back from when they lived in in los angeles, back when she was younger, back when she was an eager little kid (even though she’s still quite eager, just not as little anymore). topics like these are like a little reflection on the past, the years growing up, things that have happened over the years that have really shaped her into the person she is today. it fills her with a sense of nostalgia as well as longing, a specific type of reminiscent from back in those childhood days.

she’s actually excited to delve into her past, into the old days and talk about her family and childhood. she didn’t get to speak about it much, and she finds it enjoyable to be able to think back to where she was years ago and to where she is now. it makes her realise just how far she’s come, how much progress she’s made over the years. how she’s changed from a young child, into a young woman.

so sat down on the chair, coach in front of her, she starts the practice interview with a grin.

how would you describe your family?

jisoo laughs lightly, legs crossed as she tucks a strand of hair out of her face. “big.” she responds. “i’m the oldest child, and i sort of followed the idol road as well. we originally lived in los angeles, but we moved to seoul when i was around fourteen? and i’m twenty four now, so we’ve been here a while. but i love my family, i love my parents a lot and i especially love my younger siblings, even if they can be a pain sometimes.” she jokes, teasing tone to her words. realistically, jisoo was probably more of a pain than they were, but it was all out of love. “it’s actually nice to be close by to them, actually, because it doesn’t feel as lonely at times.”

out of all of your memories, which stands out most clearly?

“hmm,” she hums to herself, head raised as she thinks back to a clear memory that sticks out the most. quite a few stick out to her, but one of the main ones is when she first really acknowledged the buskers which is how she became so invested in music. “for me, i think the memory that stands out the most is when i really realised i wanted to pursue a career in music. i started learning how to rap through watching youtube videos, but seeing people busk in hongdae and things like that is how i came to love music so much. it was just a big realisation to me, and it sort of felt like a new step.”

what’s one piece of advice you would give to your younger self?

“i think, one piece of advice i’d give to my younger self.. i think it would be to not give up.” jisoo admits, nodding her head with a soft smile on her face. there were definitely times when she felt like the thread was slipping from the seams, where she felt like her grasp on her dream was getting weaker and weaker. that when she would take one step, sometimes it would be two steps back and all back to square one. “it’s not easy and you definitely have days where your confidence is low, but don’t give up. keep trying, if you fall down, get back up and try again. it’s all a learning curve.”

bitna rolled her eyes as jisoo spoke “whatever” she mumble. letting her eyes trail the screen. whether it was swiping through the dating app or just checking her email she wasn’t trying to be present in the conversation. lifting her head up, she crossed her arms resting them on her leg “do you really care?” a rhetorical question. bitna had her guard up, and those wall werent coming down. flipping her hair over her shoulder she lean back in her seat, rocking her right feet in place.

“I dont know.” she finally answer looking up at the ceiling. “It’s not like your family or childhood interest me.” it was the truth, she let out a scoff before continuing. “anyways.” her comments were unwelcome but she was not one to keep her mouth shut. “ i guess, what did you want to be growing up?”

if jisoo were to roll her eyes even more, she’s pretty sure they’ll end up falling out of her eye sockets and rolling away. probably out of the room and as far away from bitna as possible, too. just being in her presence was enough to have her sighing and groaning quietly, and now she had to do this practice interview with her? out of all people, why bitna? a rock would be a better partner than her. jisoo’s eyes widen at the other female as she pulls out her phone, eyebrows raised in bewilderedness. “are you serious right now?” the female says, voice evident of absolute surprise. she scoffs, shaking her head.

she really didn’t know how she was going to get through this without losing more braincells. she’s in utter disbelief at her so called partner, watching her as she swipes through whatever she’s doing on her phone. a scowl presents on jisoo’s face, and she forces herself to take a deep breath, closing her eyes in attempt to calm herself and gather her thoughts again. she laughs, fingers curling on the edges of her book in irritation. “no, i don’t care, but i’m here to do this. so the quicker we do this properly, the sooner we can leave.” jisoo responds, shooting her a glare.

“your family and childhood doesn’t interest me, either, but here we are. so just get on with it.” her patience was really wearing thin and they had only been in the room for a total of not even five minutes. “always wanted to be in the music industry, but only knew i wanted to be an idol i saw buskers. now, your turn. when you were young, what did your dream look like?”

jisoo didn’t get along with bitna.

it was plain clear from the moment the two met that their personalities would clash and that they wouldn’t get along well, and of course, they didn’t. quickly, a mutual dislike formed between the two and jisoo didn’t necessarily try to deny it or hide it. she was an honest person, so with their clashing personalities, she didn’t care to hide it.

when the interview workshop came around, she was intrigued by the idea, but she wasn’t happy when she had been partnered with bitna for it. honestly, jisoo and bitna working together to prepare for the interview? she was already dreading the idea and even more so having to be in a room with her all by themselves. she could already feel the irritation building up. standing outside of the room, she sighed deeply and opened the door, pushing her way in and moving over towards the closest chair. “let’s just get this done and over with.” jisoo calls in a tired voice, hand picking up the chair and pulling it over to the middle of the room. she doesn’t even bother raising her head yet, instead she trudges through her bag in search for the book she has the questions written down in so she could prepare.

finally, she raises her head and looks at bitna, face void of emotion. “what question do you want to start with?”

parents split up when she was fourteen and her, the other sibs and their mother moved to seoul

tbh she kinda ??? took the split hard, and then moving to seoul was just a lot for her and she felt like she needed to be strong

but eventually she came to terms with it and a couple years later, their father moved to seoul and !!!! they got back together . a win win

was always and has always been a big . personality, jisoo is like that cheers you on to do things you probably shouldn’t ...... HHHH

grew interested in music when she was in seoul through buskers !!!! and started learning how to rap through youtube vids 

auditioned for legacy in jan 2019

she joined just to spy on her little sibs no i’m kidding they’re better behaved than her

started learning taekwondo when she was young ( she’s now a red belt do not mess w her )

she’s a rlly fun person to be around, deffo radiates big sis vibes

always up for a lil adventure

but despite that side of her, she’s still rlly hard working and she tries her best to make the trainee life not feel like a job ??? in a way, especially on those rlly down days

but tbh she’s really nice to basically everyone but if you’re mean or rude or anything like that, naturally she will make it known she doesn’t like you by glaring at you
