「 kittens or puppies 」

On his way to his favourite cafe after getting literally almost kicked out of the practice room, max finds himself enjoying the evening rays of the sun. bag over his shoulder, laptop tugged within and headphones in his ears he’s ready to lose himself in another writing session, struggling for inspiration for a new song. apparently even when on free time the guy could simply not stop doing anything music or work related-

tugged out of his musings he faintly heard a voice in between two songs, having him perk up and tug one earbud out of his ears to look around for the source of the voice. coming face to face with a young lady holding a kitten, max can’t help but blink back in confusion before she explains the situation back to him.

“ah uhm no… I don’t think you need to potty walk cats… it’s probably on a stroll right now? there’s cats who go out to wander about before returning home again,” he explains, a smile on his lips.

Her gaze flickers between the dude and the cat within her embrace. Maya’s eyes growing bigger every second, completely turning into the perfect puppy-eye expression. To be fair she hasn’t been home to see her family-puppies definitely included- for a long time. A trip would be highly needed very soon.

Those thoughts are to be entertained at another time. For now she needed to figure out what to do with this whole cat situation. “...I get it.” Maya didn’t know why he was bringing up the whole ‘shitty-situation’ pun intended, of course. The additional half of the conversation surely brought light to it.

“Ah... That’s interesting. So you reckon I should just leave it out here on its own then?” Still looking at the handsome boy with cat-formation curiously. Still unable to unwrap her hands away from the adorable kitten.

Although she is more of a dog person, considering she and siblings have two puppies at home, that did not mean she was not going to help a kitten out. To be fair, it was only safe to assume that the cat has been lost since it is wondering around with a collar on. Without any prior knowledge that domestic cats knew how to get back home easily, she picks it up and looks around her.

Maybe one has to walk a cat around the same way she has to with a puppy. Spotting him relatively closer to them, she decides to approach him and ask if the kitten belonged to him. “Excuse me, I found this little one by the bushes over there and I was wondering if they might be yours?”

「 brand ambassador: ivy club school uniform 」

A perfectionist is an accurate description of who she is. So does a procrastinator.  

As she watches plenty of her peers who got signed the same year as she did gradually take on the stage, Maya finds herself in a weird limbo. It's no one's fault but her own, of course. Choosing to master all the skills that she can without bothering to actively take part in situations that might help her progress into actually debuting.

Turning her head to the side, allowing the hairstylist to fix up his artwork, Maya continues her meandering thoughts.

If only she took part in future dreams. Or focused more on agency events that would allow her to at least be featured in commercials or photoshoots like the one she's currently getting ready for. But no, her stubbornness and laser vision have caught her in this predicament. How many more years till she would be able to progress somewhere. Would she be the trainee that would eventually disappear into the void.

No. Of course not. At least not if she has anything to say about it.

Despite her stagnant status within the company, she has gained a lot of skills that would make her unforgettable once she's out there. It's a simple fact. It's just a matter of actually getting out there.

Shaking her head, she smiles confidently at the stylist- both the makeup and hair- before making her way out of the backstage rooms and into the set. All ready to represent both Legacy and Ivy Club.

Aside from harnessing her skills, Maya managed to gather enough information and advice from those who have made it to further figure out what she wants for herself. After all, a person must always have evolving goals, to know that simply being an idol would not cut it for her. This is why in the next few months she would be gunning to transition into the agency path within Legacy, in hopes on finally taking a step forward and closer to achieving her goals.

Till then, she'll have to patiently listen and wait for the photographer to give her a go ahead to when the shoot starts.

“thanks,” yumi exclaims, happily helping herself to some of maya’s kimchi before remembering she had some on her own plate. “oh, oops,” she adds, pushing back the plate towards the other. “you eat first. i realized i have some here,” she chuckles, moving to pick at her own plate instead.

yumi isn’t someone who is good at slacking off, no matter how much a subject bores her. and well, the songwriting camp isn’t boring her really. she’s actually enjoying it more now, that was for sure. but the goody-two-shoes side of her as a student is coming out now as she just grins at the other’s suggestion. “you know, i’ve never slept in a class before,” she points out. “i actually haven’t been minding the sessions. they’re more interesting than i expected, but it’s definitely not … easy?” she tries to think of the word that would best describe how she was feeling about it.

She watches fondly as the small plate is nudged back between them. There is no doubt that she would be able to finish everything by herself, yet she leaves it there just in case the other wants to reach out back for it. “These are so good, feel free to take some more later if you want.” Smiling as much as she with her cheeks filled with goodness. 

Despite her perfectionist and determined drive to master anything within her path, Maya has her own limits and acquired taste. “I’m glad you are enjoying it, I reckon I’m one of the few who don’t but I’ve never really been invested with... writing my own song-- at least the lyrics part of it. Also the composition... I mean, rapping and cyphering isn’t that far off but I guess find it more interesting to improve on the spot.” She blinks blankly at Yumi in mid-chew, “I don’t think I make much sense do I... it doesn’t help that I do nap in class.” Sheepishly shrugging as she tries to blow it off.

writing troubles

when daeyeol found out that he was going to be needed to attend songwriting camp with the rest of the trainees, he was hit with a nervousness that hadn’t been present in a long while. being around other trainees was fine, in theory, but in real life it was nerve-wracking. he hadn’t been given the opportunity to interact with the regular trainees after debut and he was worried that some would hold an resentment against him.

even if they did have resentment- what could he do about it? realistically? not a damn thing.

as he was sitting in their writing class, he was really trying to pay attention. but there were so many terms going over his head, he honestly had no idea. next to him was maya, someone who he was friends with since his time as a trainee. unfortunately, it had been several months since they had even had the opportunity to text, let alone meet up in real life. 

when the teacher was finished with the lesson, daeyeol sighed loudly and slowly slumped to the desk, resting his arms straight out and placed his chin on the cool surface. to himself, and to maya, he let out another sigh.

“even though the teacher is speaking in korean, i can barely understand them.” his voice was light but filled with stress. he really had no clue about songwriting and also had very little interest in the topic. he would rather spend his time cooking at home or asking yeonwoo to taste-test his food.

She could be saving a runaway school bus or taking down the local underground criminal ring, at that moment. Instead, Maya simply allows her mind to be filled with adventurous endeavours that she would much rather be doing instead of sitting in that song writing workshop. Honestly, vocal lessons doesn’t sound so bad either and as a perfectionist, Maya struggled with that even after years of attending the bloody class. 

Turning her head from side to side, working out the kinks that seem to be permanently settled into her petite structure. Maya lets her gaze wander around the room, it was easy to see who were in the room and who was going off their own adventure time, heck some trainees even look like they were sleeping with their eyes open. Something Maya somewhat wanted to learn how to do herself. 

At least she found herself sitting beside an old friend, Daeyeol. It’s been a while since she was able to spend time with him, as it is the schedule of a trainee is rigid. Now that he successfully debuted as an idol, the struggle to organise time with him almost feels close to impossible.

Standing up to stretch she gazes down at a him, letting out a startled laugh. “Oh god, I know exactly what you mean. Truth be told, it didn’t sound like Korean either.” Smiling down at Daeyeol as she starts to collect her belongings on their work station. “What’s the plan now? Gonna run off to the band or do you got time to catch lunch with Dae?”

「 Pick one 」

keeho loved attending these workshop that legacy had for the trainees. there was something about a stable schedule that just rub him the wrong way. he was adventurous and a schedule was like a commitment that he didn’t want to commit too. 

skimming through the schedule, keeho mind started to wander off about what his potential dinner would be. it wasn’t until he heard a familiar voice calling towards him. there were only a few people that spoke to him in english. with that, he almost immediately knew who it was before turning his attention towards maya.

“waddup!” he greeted. with a shrug of his shoulder he responded to her “it’s..going”

keeho eyes blink at the schedule that was waving in front of him, he reach out placing his hand on the schedule and pushing it down towards the ground and out of his view. “I hate it, they were blocking my view of you.” he said flirtatiously. almost forgetting that they were talking about the workshop schedule. “I kind of like them, that business one is kind of interesting” he pointed towards the workshop on the schedule for the other to see 

“what about you? are you looking forward to any of these?”

Instantly her mood brightens at his response. Finding yet again another form of comfort and ease not just through their chosen language but due to his familiar flirting. As a sly smile slips upon her rosy lips, Maya rolls her eyes shaking her head fondly at mannerism. 

"It’s... going,” chuckling as she glances back down at the schedule between them, mirroring his words back to him, her anxious mood returning again. “honestly, I don’t usually mind workshops but it seems rather... restrictive if you ask me.” With the rigid time schedule plus there wasn’t really that much variation when it came to the workshops. “I wish they added something with dance or acting or... something else other than composure and-- vocal workshops.” 

A defeated sigh escapes her, shrugging as she takes a step forward in the line they were in. “Suppose I should invest in a bigger tumblr for more coffee during this schedule. But what about you? Which one are you looking forward to the most?”

「 behind the scenes:... chillin」

It was always interesting to see the shift in the dorm dynamics change as former trainees turn into rookies idols and new trainees fill up their spots. On one hand the seniority of being both in the company, thus the dorms, had its perks. While it was a constant reminder of how long she’s been a trainee. No shame in that of course, especially when it’s genuinely her choice. 

All that aside, Maya finishes up her morning stretches and puts on her ‘clean up-get up’. A oversized  gray t-shirt and comfy olive green bike shorts, before going about her morning routine. It takes about twenty-minutes till she’s officially ready to conquer the day, but prior all that, she makes her way to through the dorm to wake up her favorite accomplice. 

“Yinuo-ah~ wakey wakey, eggs and backy.” Their vocal coach would surely cringe at the off tune jiggling she lets out, biting back an amused smile, she goes further into the other room. “Good morning yo, wake up we got some chilling to do.”

 a SONGWRITING CAMP starter for @lgcmayx​

yumi has honestly grown to enjoy the songwriting camp a bit more than she initially thought she would, but she also doesn’t mind getting a lunch break during it. she finds maya at one of the tables and waves at her before rushing over with her food. “ah, lunch time,” she exclaims excitedly as she takes a seat across the other. 

“how is the songwriting camp going for you?” she asks as she scoops a bite of rice into her mouth. “using my brain is making me so hungry,” she adds. she normally doesn’t get so ravenous, but these days, she seems to be more hungry than usual. “if i don’t eat, i’ll probably fall asleep.” then again, if she does eat so much, she’ll probably also fall asleep.

It would be blasphemy to say anything negative about her mother’s cooking but if there was one thing she was thankful for when she moved to Korea, it’s the food. No matter where Maya went to eat, the food is phenomenal, years down the line she’s still loves the cafeteria food in Legacy too. Thinking on it now, she didn’t know how her mother’s food and Korean food were connected but then again she does miss Mama’s cooking intensely. 

Her thoughts completely flying out when the wonderful Yumi waves and makes her way towards Maya. “I know I’ve been starving since this morning. Got a little extra kimchi too, here.” Nudging the side plate between her and Yumi as she munches off her own big scoop of rice. “It’s been going alright, but I’m not really into the whole thing.” She shrugs casually, as she spreads out a spoonful of soup all over her rice. “What about you? Oh if you want we can seat at the back later and have a little nap time.”

               it was nature to hyoseop, he couldn’t help it. when he saw a beautiful person it was something calling in him, he needed to flirt with them. it wasn’t surprising that when he saw maya, from the first second he was flirting, and soon enough they had a flirting connection. maya was beautiful, so beautiful, and her looks in a fast motion always put a smile on hyoseop’s lips. hyoseop had seen it as destiny, fate had brought them together well knowing hyoseop was a flirting man, so he had to flirt with maya.

hyoseop sees maya walking alone from behind, so he runs up to her, throws an arm around her shoulders and smiles. “hi cutie~” he takes his other arm up and plays with a tot of her hair “how has your day been beautiful?”

Frowning down at her assignment sheet, she weaves through the corridors almost oblivious to her surroundings, her mind already formulating the answers that needs to be eventually written out. Yet somehow it doesn’t startle her when Hyoseop suddenly appears beside her, arm confidently befalling upon her shoulders and his ever so charming smile present on his handsome face. 

“Hey, strangers.” His infectious smile slowly reflecting on Maya’s lips. “Better now that you’re here.” Nudging him ever so slightly as she leans up against him. Briefly going along their usual banter and finally allowing herself to relax in their familiar routine, before pushing off against him. “Honestly, just got back from classes and about to start the day here. What about you, handsome? How’s your day been?”

「 Fan…fic recommendations 」

Soyoun laughs. Maya reminds her of when she was still fairly new to Legacy and away from the public eye. Sometimes she misses getting to shamelessly fangirl over her favorite artists. However, now that they’re sort of colleagues, Soyoun has to tone the awe and worship into something more professional. Sure, she still loves Bae Siwoo and will still care his face from wood if given the chance. Heck, she has already given him a painting prior to entering the company. However, she is also going to be an idol now, and some things aren’t exactly socially acceptable anymore. Especially if she wants her idols to see her as a junior in the industry to watch instead of a fan. 

“It was the fear of looking unprofessional that kept me sane, to be honest,” Soyoun admits. “You have no idea how many times I have had to screech it all out in the privacy of the dorms once it’s all over.” She laughs. Honestly, getting to work with people she looks up to doesn’t get old. One says to never meet your idols because they’ll just disappoint you. Thankfully, none of them have disappointed her yet. “You never know? If they don’t make it happen, I’ll try drawing you a comic with that plot instead.” She cackles. “It might come out late, depending on my schedules.” 

Soyoun is absolutely right. Professionalism would do that to a person. With a rather irritated sigh, she steps away from Soyoun, Maya finally giving her friend a little bit of breathing space. Just a tad bit, as she kept her hand still connected with the rookie idol. Now that’s a humbling thought in mind, Soyoun being an actual idol. Her friend finally achieving their dream and aspiration, she’ll only continue to shine from there. 

“Right professional.” Maya hums out, swing their hands back and forth in almost a childish manner. “I’mma need to learn how to do that wouldn’t I? Ugh, one of the many ‘perks’ of being an idol, huh?” A startled laugh escapes her lips, completely relating to the fangirling situation. “Oh my god, did you just say you’ll make me a comic? I would literally die!” Maya practically screaming as she clutches her friends hand excitedly. “Take as much time as you need for it.”

「 The Buzz 」

The more Jinseo talks to Maya, the more he realizes that maybe he has already been subconsciously applying his advice. The more he thinks about it, the more he is not looking forward to that inevitable confrontation that might take place at Seollal next year. The more he gets to try different things related to the entertainment industry, the more interested Jinseo is in exploring it as much as he can. Singing and dancing are out of the running, but everything else is still on the table. 

“I sure hope I would be.” Jinseo laughs. “I am also a teacher besides a model, so I would hope I can get a point or two across.” He hasn’t exactly quit his day job, as he’s aware that modeling isn’t something that will last forever. However, he has been taking less clients than before, valuing those who he has worked with for much longer. “Bold of you to assume I even have any fans,” he deadpans at the obvious teasing. It’s not like Jinseo’s a household name or anything. He still has a long way to go and a lot to prove. “You’ll probably be more famous than I am one day.” 

With her fingers wrapped back around the warm half full mug of hot-choco goodness, she raises her the cup to take another sip. A satisfied sigh escapes her lips, gaze flickering back towards Jinseo, smirking ever so slightly at his own teasing manner. She really does miss her older brother at more when Jinseo was around. Maybe she could give him a call later on today, when the time zones permit it. 

“Oh yeah! How’s teaching going for you right now?” Maya knew first hand what it was like to balance training and personal gigs, in her case school. Keyword for something so successful like this to happen is ‘time management’. “Oh please oppa, you’ve definitely got tons of fans. Lord knows I am one of them.” She says with a dignified humph, wide grin still dancing around her lips. “Oh wanna bet? Tell you what’ll be cool though is if we end up in the same movie or drama together one day.”

These workshops are going to take months, actual months- not just hours, a few days or even just a week, but truly months. Not that she’s complaining, more as that she really would rather be doing something else. With a defeated sigh, she looks down at the schedule of the workshops written out in a fancy looking pamphlet, trying to figure out which one she would end up attending. Mind filled with inner voice conflict and debate, she meanders through the hall ways of the company building, before finding herself in front of the coffee shop. 

“Might as well get coffee.” She says aloud, completely uncaring if someone else heard her talking to herself. It’s been a busy day and eventually she knew that a choice needs to be made when it comes to these workshops. It doesn’t take long before she spots a familiar looking handsome figure not so far from where she stood. “Hey Kee, how’s it going?” Immensely glad she could speak in English with him, missing her first language during stressful times like these. “What are your thoughts on these?” Waving the schedule towards him, as she takes a step towards the ordering line for coffee.

「 Food shop not workshop. 」

To be quite frank, she doesn’t really understand why they have to spend months for these composing and production workshop. Personally she would much rather they gave some trainees other options for those who are not interested in these sort of things. They could have thrown something in for those who were more into learning a new instrument or other forms of performing arts, like drama classes. A variety of workshops that could appeal to everyone. Besides, one of the integral part of creating music is learning how to at least play a basic instrument or something. 

With a heavy yawn that she barely manages to suppress, Maya along with others who attended that last hour’s workshop exits the vast room. Quickly spotting him down the hall way, she makes her way towards Ji, calling out to him gently. “Ji! Hey, how’s it going? Did you attend the workshop?... you going to lunch?” Standing beside him eagerly, hoping desperately that she could join him for a meal if he hasn’t already eaten.

Soyoun has been through a lot in the last few months, and she feels bad for not having time for any of her other friends outside of Crytallis. To make up for that, she hangs out with Maya as soon as they have some free time. As they pass both Seo Haneul and Kim Hyunbin, Soyoun instinctively bows. It may be presumptuous of Soyoun to think, but one day, future juniors will hopefully bow to both of them the way they are doing to their seniors now. She can’t help but wonder whether juniors in the company will look at her with the same awe and wonder she looks at the likes of Blazing, Haru, and DBSD. 

Despite getting to work with a few of Legacy’s seniors a few times, Soyoun can’t help but nod in agreement with Maya. “Listen, Bae Siwoo sunbaenim is the standard. I said what I said. But I have to admit, I think Seo Haneul sunbaenim smells the nicest among them.” As she’s debuting soon, Soyoun knows she has to at least be a little more professional around her seniors. She almost envies Maya for having a little more leeway to shamelessly fangirl. “… Something else, huh? Listen, as much as I will go down with the HanWoo ship, I can get onboard this one, too.” She playfully winks at Maya. “The fan art and comics are just too good.”  

Oh how she loved the pragmatic side of Soyoun. It humbles Maya, it truly does. Reminding her of how shameless and carefree she is yet for not one moment would Maya change herself. Especially when she has a variety of great friends around her, one being Soyoun, who could be the sensible and calm one between the two of them. In fact, one could say that Maya felt more comfortable with herself when she’s around the older girl. 

“Gurl, I don’t know how you can be on the same stage as some of them and not just--” Another exaggerated dreamy sigh escapes her, leaning further into Soyoun’s personal space. “All I want for Christmas is to be in a novella like love triangle with Hanuel and Hyunbin-”dramatically turning back to her friend, “is that too much to ask? I mean, it’s only January and eleven more months till the next Christmas so theirs time for that to happen right?”

「 The Buzz 」

How does one get into acting? That wasn’t an easy question to answer. After all, Jinseo got into it in the most unconventional of ways, just like the rest of his Legacy career. “I don’t know how others did it, but in my case, I focused on wanting to tell a story and getting to pretend to be someone else,” Jinseo admits. “For example, for the drama that’s airing that I’m in, it’s nice to get to act like a bit of a loser fanboy and a law office intern. I’m not in the legal field in real life, so that’s interesting. Previously, I played an older brother to a high school student. It’s closer to who I am, but I’m not as strict as my character was.” 

Jinseo isn’t sure whether that answers Maya’s question completely, so he decides to tack on some more information. “If you’re curious, you can do a few acting workshops when we all get back from break. Maybe you can try auditioning for even a small part in the next Legacy drama whenever that will be,” he continues. “If you find that both the audition process and hopefully filming interest you, then there’s your answer.” Jinseo hopes that sort of helps Maya figure things out.

For every time he opened his lips and dropped some knowledge, the feeling of clarity mixed with determination eases into her. Jinseo is right, starting from the source readily provided to them was a good place to put her toes into the water. If she doesn’t like it, she could always say that she’s tried but knowing herself better than anyone else. Maya knows that once she starts something she will see it through. 

“Ya’know, I can totally see you being a good coach later on in life.” Smirking confidently as she gives him a satisfied look. “Maybe that’s something you should consider too.” Wiggling her brows at him playfully, “but not right now. I don’t think anybody is ready to see you go yet, especially your fans. Heaven forbid we take their precious Jinseo-oppa away.” Rolling her dramatically, thoroughly enjoying teasing Jinseo after a bit of well informed conversation.
