“i heard that you like pokemon! what is your favorite pokemon and why?”
seeing the next question makes yejun laugh a little inside, though outwardly he put’s on a suspicious face (a very good one at that, if his drama teacher is to be trusted). “how did you know that I like pokemon, huh? who ratted me out? or should i say, who rattata’d meowth?” it’s then that his previous laughs finally manage to escape, only escalating at the dismayed groans that the staff monitoring him let out.
“what is my favourite pokemon and why? one of my favourites is definitely ditto. as an actor, i really have to admire it’s talent at transforming into other pokemon. morpeko is one of my other favourites, simply because of how cute it is. i also have a big soft spot for every cat pokemon to exist which should be self explanatory really, because cats are amazing. overall though, ghost pokemon, whether they’re pure, primary or secondary, are definitely my favourite type. when i was a kid i had this thought that i would use ghost types most to try and prove to my parents that i should be allowed to watch horror movies. yeah, weird reasoning and everything, i know. but since then i’ve had a bit of an attachment to ghost types. i must admit, they’re not the prettiest or cutest though. the fairy types win those awards, definitely.”

𝄞 -- save me, save you
closed starter for @lgctee
yejun really, really doesn’t know why he had decided to sign up to appear on lgc babysitting services. the most experience he had dealing with children was perhaps seeing them every now and then when his friends had younger siblings. other than that though, he had zero knowledge about how to look after anyone younger than him. okay, that was a lie. he had been the vice captain of his highschool volleyball team in his final year of school, and so obviously had technically had to look after younger kids before. but that was only boys a couple years younger than him at the most. not kids that still couldn’t spell their own names properly and barely came up to his hip.
but yejun wasn’t one to be easily intimidated, especially not in front of cameras, which were already rolling and ready to film them meeting the kids for the first time. so standing outside the room that the group of kids he would be looking after were in, he put on his confident smile (nobody needed to know it was fake) and turned to face his partner for the day.
“so, tee, you ready to head in?”

𝄞 -- highlight
closed starter for @lgcxminji
people were surprised when yejun revealed what the subject of the workshop he would be hosting was. most people he knew thought he’d go for something to do with performance - something vocal or acting based, the areas that he knew most about.  but yejun had never been one to stick to the status quo. he had never spent much time behind the scenes with the stage crew and such when it came to theatre. the most he really did was heaavy lifting or running round delivering messages when everyone but him was busy. one area he had spent some time learning about though, was lighting. his fascination with the area arose when he and a friend got handcuffed together as a result of a game of truth or dare. as it turned out, the friend was in charge of lighting for the schools theatre team, and he ended up having to accompany them as they worked. and now, a couple of years later, he was going to be teaching others about it.
meeting the small group of people, fifteen in total, who had signed up for his workshop went by quickly, as did the first portion of the lesson - teaching both about the aims of stage lighting as well as how to actually work the equipment (to a basic extent anyway - it could actually be rather complicated and it was almost impossible to teach everything in such a small amount of time). and now it was the (hopefully) fun part. he had split everyone into pairs and tasked them with putting on a little performance, with the lighting and how they could use it to improve the performance being the main focus. thanks to the uneven number of attendee’s though, yejun himself had to pair up with someone. not ideal, as he couldn’t really go around and assist everyone, but he wasn’t complaining about it at all.
“hey! minji-ssi, i think you said, right? i hope it’s cool that you’re being paired up with me. we have a bit of an uneven number today,” yejun says, approaching the person left without a partner (by chance only - he had used the good old “names in a hat” technique to pair people up). “i guess i’ll first ask if you’d rather be the person on stage or the one using the controls?”

lgcsubin:
quick move!   ..   episode nineteen w. yejun
â–ș     ––––       .  .  .       so it turns out that the twist this time is not some kind of dance challenge, but rather a theme  -  and it’s one that subin actually enjoys.  power.  there are so many things that you can do with something like a theme, and that’s why he’s glad that this time, the staff thought of it.  there’s still the fact that he’s suffering through a lack of control with his own series, but slowly over time subin’s been coming to terms with that.
it’s now the second episode, and they’ve just finished watching the choreography for the first time.  he turns his head to yejun with a quick smile, already loving what the staff chose for this episode too.  " wanna watch it again, or should we try to give it a go?“ he asks in an upbeat tone that isn’t there just for professionalism’s sake.  this time, he’s actually enjoying his own show  -  it’s the first time since maybe the first season that he has.   ” i’m really liking the choreography this time.“
dancing had never been what yejun would call his strong point, not out of all the skills needed for a musical actor at least. and there were plenty of people in the company that far surpassed him in skill when it came to the sport. but he definitely wouldn’t call himself bad at dancing. it was hard to be bad at something when you spend hours every single week for three and half years practicing said thing.
and he wasn’t afraid of being in front of cameras or an audience either. in fact, he enjoyed being the center of attention. so being asked to feature on an episode of subin’s show? well, how could he say no? and now he was actually filming it, god, was he excited. seeing the choreography that they’d be learning only heightened that excitement. from what of the lyrics he could understand while watching it through, the song had a fun amount of sass that matched the moves shown on screen.
“ahh, this is going to be fun! i kinda want to watch it again, but that might just be to see how cool the dancers look. i’m ready to get into this whenever you are subin-ssi,” yejun says in reply, clapping his hands a little - both in anticipation of what’s to come, and as an applause for the dancers on screen.

what made you pursue a career as a musical actor?
when his eyes first scan over the next question, yejun can’t help but pause to think a little. “what made me pursue a career as a musical actor? hmm... will it sound silly to say that a coin flip did?” well, even if it did sound silly, it was the entire truth. throughout highschool, he had been both a part of his school’s volleyball team as well as a trainee at legacy, with hopes on focusing on musical theatre as opposed to idol training. and when his graduation started approaching, he had a choice to make: go to university with his sports scholarship and continue playing the game he loved, or continue on as a trainee and hope that fame of any sort might be in his future. with pros and cons for each choice, yejun really did end up flipping a coin. heads for legacy, tails for university. and considering the question was being asked for a vlive, it was safe to say which side won.
but that probably wasn’t what the fan meant when asking the question, at least not completely. so with a smile, yejun expanded on his answer. “while it is actually true that you can thank a coin - one that i keep in my wallet and consider lucky now - for the fact that i’m here with you now, you probably don’t mean the question quite so literally.” here, yejun laughs a little. “well, my answer is probably pretty boring and predictable. when i was, five? six? yeah, when i was six, a family friend took me to watch a small production of the musical grease in a local theatre. i thought the t-birds were really cool, and i wanted to be that cool. i ended up getting my old little leather jacket and everything. and when i found out i wasn’t completely tone deaf, i said “why not?” and went and did the singing - and dancing - bit of it as well. and as you can probably tell, that little fascination with grease and the t-birds didn’t take long to turn into a full- blown love for musicals and theatre in general.”

quick update:
okay, so i’ve been away for almost three(?) weeks now. i was totally meant to go on a hiatus, but i ended up never getting around to contacting the mods before it just slipped my mind completely. long story short, my grandmother broke her hip and i bascially became her carer on top of having to work (from home thankfully). safe to say, rping was the last thing on my mind. but i’m back home now! and so can finally respond to messages and threads! i apologise to all those i’ve left hanging for ages, i’ll be getting back to you asap.

lgceden:
getting up from his seat, eden quickly makes his way to the door as he hears the chiming of the electronic bell. a small, but not ingenuine, smile graces his face as the younger boy greets him, growing in size as he sees the two cups in hand. “i’m doing good, thanks. come on it. there’s some slippers there that you can use,” he says in reply to yejun’s greeting, moving out of the doorway so that the younger can enter. he watches as the other slips out of his shoes and into the slipper, that were indeed sitting there waiting for him, before leading him into the kitchen.
“I have a few things set up, though i do have some more things in my room if you wanted different colours or decorations or whatever,” eden tells yejun, motioning to all the items spread across the table. his hands wring nervously as he waits to hear yejun’s thoughts on it. he had always been someone to do creative stuff by himself, the only exceptions being school assignments that required partner or group work. having someone completely new join him was odd. but yejun had been nothing but kind to him so far - as shown by the drink he had offered to get him - so he shoved down the thought that he was somehow intruding on his space. it wasn’t fair to yejun for eden to think that way. so instead, he just pushes down said nerves and tells his brain to give the boy the benefit of the doubt.
-
yejun’s eyes widen slightly at the wide array of things on the table. it was completely different to all the videos he had watched. in those, the people knew exactly what they would be doing, and what they would need. he didn’t realise just how much... stuff...could be involved. “wow! no, i’m pretty sure you know best,” he says, his voice tinged with awe. placing down the drinks on the table off to the side, yejun’s eyes are practically sparkling with interest as he moves forward to inspect everything. when eden had told him that he had everything, that yejun only needed to bring himself, he, well, he didn’t know what he was expecting. yet somehow, all expectations were easily risen above.
“you didn’t just buy this stuff for now, did you? because like, surely that’s really expensive. i’ll have to pay you back if you did!” yejun is mainly joking when he says this, sending a wink eden’s way to make sure he knows he’s not serious, as he can see that only a few items on the table are brand new, the others already opened and missing some of their contents.

Tumblr media
“we got this! just follow my lead!” he rests his elbows on the table before them, eyes focused on the screen. a staff member motions to the cameraman and danny begins to introduce himself. “hello everyone! welcome to legacy’s annual sports festival! you’re tuning in to our next e-sports leagues of legends tournament! i’m daniel, third year trainee and one of your commentators for the game, here with my good friend
” he nods in yejun’s direction, giving him the opportunity to speak ( and buying himself some time to figure out what he would say next ).
-
being a theatre trainee, improv is something that yejun isn’t unfamiliar with. making things up as he goes along, pretending like he had planned everything out beforehand, and learning to roll with it when he couldn’t pull it off. they were skills that he had been building all throughout his time as a trainee. and now, speaking to daniel and learning about their shared knowledge (or rather, lack of said knowledge), he could only hope that those lessons would come in handy. “well, even if it is obvious we have no idea what we’re going on about, i reckon we can make it entertaining enough that they don’t care,” he says. whether the “they” is the fans playing and watching, the other trainees, the company or all three, yejun doesn’t know. but he has no further chance to ponder on it as the staff finish setting up, and daniel takes the chance to start the segments intro.
Tumblr media
a warm smile immediately plasters itself onto his face as he listens to the older speak to the cameras, taking the chance to get himself into what his friends like to refer as his ‘host zone. thankfully, they’re not the first ones to be hosting a game, so he vaguely knows what he’s meant to be doing - for the introduction at least. so with as much confidence as he can muster up, he continues on from daniel.
“aspiring musical actor, yejun. we’re here with two brand new teams, both vying to be taking home the trophy. figurative or literal i’m not actually sure,” he says, exaggerating his thinking face at his final sentence, his smile turning cheeky.

lgceden:
sitting at his dorm’s dining room table, eden doubles and triples checks everything spread out in front of him. when working with resin, forgetting something wasn’t something you could afford if you wanted to get it right the first time round. it only had a certain workable time before it started to set, and eden doesn’t want to be wasting time, money and resin if he forgets to grab the pigments or glitters he wanted. and he especially didn’t want that to happen this time round; not when he was meant to be the expert in it. or at least, the more knowledgable out of the two. the two being him and another trainee, shin yejun.
a few days previous, he had happened to overhear the younger boy talking about how it seemed like everyone but him had partnered up to make gifts to hand out to fans during the upcoming sports festival. and, completely opposite to what he would normally do, eden had volunteered himself (followed by plenty of apologies over accidentally eavesdropping).
quite obviously, yejun had agreed. they had exchanged numbers, and throughout the night had texted ideas on what to do back and forth. when eden had mentioned that he had experience in making various items with resin, it was quickly decided that they would do something with that. and considering that it was eden which owned all of the necessary materials, it was unanimously agreed that it would be at his dorm in which they made the keychains - the item they had finally decided on making. so now, all that was left for eden to do was wait for yejun to arrive.
.
yejun was simultaneously both tired and energetic. energetic because he was potenially going to both make a new friend and try something he hadn’t before; and tired because he had stayed up much later than he should have binge watching youtube videos on that said new something. making things out of resin hadn’t been something he’d ever really thought about, let alone had an interest in. the only creative hobby he really had - outside of musical theatre that is - was crocheting. and so when he was presented with the opportunity to try it out, he had decided to watch up on it so he wouldn’t be a hindrance to eden, said new friend.
but at least his tiredness had given him an excuse to splurge a little and buy some coffee from the fancier cafe. and so with two cups in hand, one iced americano for himself and a mint hot chocolate for eden (as he had discovered was the older's preferred bevarage while texting him over the course of the past few days), yejun rang the bell to the older boy’s dorm while somehow managing to juggle the drinks without any spills. yejun only had to wait a few moment before the door opened up before him, and a big smile interrupts the yawn trying to escape.
“hello eden-ssi! how’re you doing today?”

✶ ━━ SOME MORE
daniel adjusts his name tag as he shuffles into the booth, nodding his head in greeting to the various staff members monitoring computer screens and tinkering with mics at every corner of the room. he’s still buzzing from the earlier archery tournament - turns out he wasn’t as good as he thought, but he was certain that he’d left a memorable mark ( especially after missing the target for the third time in a row and falling dramatically to the ground in anguish ). he figured after all that excitement, rounding out the day with a little mcing would be a nice, relaxing -
he jumps at the sound of agitated yelling ( along with a few cheers ) coming from the computer room below the booth as fans were already reeling from an ongoing round. “jeez
” he mutters, giving his head a shake before meeting eyes with his co-commentator who had been waiting patiently for recording to begin.
Tumblr media
“yejun? no way!” he calls out, jogging over and flopping down into his seat. “long time no see! i was wondering who i’d be partnered with! how are things over at -” his question is cut off by another sudden burst of noise, this time coming from the viewing monitors before them. overwhelmed by all the activity on screen, daniel inhales and turns to yejun with a wary sigh. "please tell me you’ve played league before
”
.
leaning back in his chair, yejun hums to some random tune as he mindlessly scrolls through his phone. after his hurdles race - one of the earlier events in the day’s roster - he had spent his time cheering on all the other trainees and networking, making friends like it was his lifes purpose. something he was now regretting, because it had only just hit him that he knew absolutely nothing about league of legends. also known as, the game he would be mcing for in front of who knows how many people. he could have been learning how the game works in the time he had instead spent collecting numbers, but he hadn’t. which meant a last minute cram session was happening.
it wasn’t going very well though - hence the mindless scrolling. there was just so much information for his brain to take in. he thought games were supposed to be relaxing! so the door opening up for his co-host was a welcome distraction, especially when he saw who it was.
“daniel hyung! congrats on that archery score~” he greets with a teasing smile, dropping his phone onto the table in front of him.
Tumblr media
“i think you’ll be pleased to hear that not only have i never played league before, but i have absolutely no idea what it’s about. and i’m guessing by your question that you’re in the same boat?”

if you could be anyone in legacy for one day, who would you be?
yejun was excited for this trimesters vlive. it was probably narcissistic, but he enjoyed talking about himself. not to an extreme or anything, but he liked talking about the things he was passionate about, liked sharing them with people; liked sharing himself with people and getting to know each other. there was no such thing as too many friends in his eyes. it just so happened that it was strangers, potentially from around the world, that he would be telling things to instead this time round.
when the time to film the q&a comes round, he does his usual greeting and gets right into the first question. “if i could be anyone in legacy, who would i be? well, the obvious answer would probably be daebak shidae’s shinhae sunbaenim, wouldn’t it? he is definitely one of my biggest inspirations. i really look up to him, and his work and proficiency as a musical actor is something i hope to one day achieve. plus, he’s very, very handsome,” he answers, surprisingly serious as he praises his senior. but his straight face quickly breaks as he continues on. “but that would be a boring answer. after all, as i said, i hope to one day be like him so i wouldn’t waste a day being him when i could potentially experience all he does someday anyway. so instead i have to say that i would be one of the managing staff noonas who i won’t name for obvious reasons. why? well, her husband always makes her these lunchboxes that smell so good, and if i was her i could actually eat one of those meals for once instead of just pining from afar.” yejun’s explanation is followed by a wistful sigh as he rest his chin on a palm.
“i guess i’ll just have to stick with the puppy dog eyes and hope they’ll one day work though, huh?”

if he was being honest, yejun was not familiar with the dream high drama in the slightest. he was only 10 the year the first season came out, and little yejun had more important (in his mind) things to do, too many trees to climb, balls to volley and friends to make. and while he did get more into tv and movies as he got older thanks to his friends, dream high was never on his list. needless to say, a binge watch was planned when the news that they would be putting on a musical based off of the show because yejun was not missing out on the chance to feature in what would be his first, official production. and binge watch he did. he had stayed up far past his usual bedtime watching episodes on his phone, head under the covers and earphones in to avoid disturbing his roommate. he felt like harry potter (illegally) practicing spells in his bed at privet drive.
and walking into the audition room, yejun was glad that he had taken the time to actually watch the drama through instead of just looking up clips of it online, as he needed every bit of confidence he could get his hands on. he was nervous. much more nervous than he than he thinks he had ever been before. this was potentially the start of his career as a musical actor. if he bombed this audition, well, that would probably set the tone for the rest of his life (it wouldn’t, but yejun is a theatre nerd prone to dramatics).
standing in front of the staff, yejun takes a deep breath and visualises the nerves leaving his body like his drama teacher had taught him. he was even dressed in his (not actually) old school uniform to try and get more into character. he had decided to act out a scene from the first season, where jang wooyoung’s character debates on whether to see whats going on with pil sook and sam dong in the college prep room or not. it had been one of the scenes that had made him laugh while watching and he thought the whole not-so-internal debate would make a good audition piece. so with his headphones and acting face on, he starts his little monologue. which, thankfully, goes off without a hitch. no lines are forgotten, which would have been terrible considering it was no longer than a minute long. if he couldn’t remember that then he would have no chance remembering a whole musicals worth of stuff. but with that over, it was time for the rest of the audition. those auditioning were allowed to sing, dance or both. and of course, yejun being the overachiever that he is, decided to do both. he had decided on singing the main theme of the drama, which of course meant he had to do the dance used in the famous flash mob scene in the second season of dream high. it wasn’t what he was doing originally, but he had decided to learn it for fun when watching it before realising that he could just make it part of his audition.
the two minutes of singing and dancing went by quickly, no trips, stumbles or voice cracks to be seen or heard, and yejun’s audition was officially over. with a thank you and bow to the staff members, he leaves the room. he has to push down the urge to punch the air and instead just jumps a little to try and dispel the adrenaline running through his body. the nerves he felt beforehand hadn’t caused him any problems like he had feared. all that was left now was to wait for the cast list to be revealed and see if he had been successful or not.
