It’s funny seeing cis (usually white) women saying shit like “cis privilege isn’t a thing” or “where’s my cis privilege?”. First off it’s annoying to see cis white women act like they’re the most oppressed people in society, and also being trans can be a literal death sentence even in more developed countries like the UK or US. Cis women don’t have an attempted suicide rate of 40% due to society not being accepting of them. trans people do. Cis women don’t get murdered because someone was attracted to them and then found out they were “lying”. Trans women do. Cis women aren’t getting their rights taken away from them like trans people are. This is cis privilege. You have the privilege of going through life without the hardships of society not accepting you as you are and actively working to eradicate people like you. Yes, women are oppressed -women of colour especially- but being able to call yourself a women without people objecting is a privilege.

Okay I keep seeing posts about trans men with big chests finding bras that work to squish things pretty flat. I wore a 44H cup from Lane Bryant... NOTHING got me flat. Not a single thing made me look less than a DD. That's because I had 13 pounds of tissue on my rib cage that can't compress INTO that rib cage no matter how tight I pulled things. No folding, no layering, no doubling up ever was enough for my bf to even notice the size difference. I spent hundreds trying and every time I would be left sobbing in front of the mirror in garbage that left me suffocated and bulging.

THIS HAPPENS... Not everyone has a success story with binding, and I wish I wish that I had found just one person that had said... Hey, it's never going to work at that size but that's okay. It's not your fault.

It's not because you didn't research. Because you didn't TRY hard enough. Sometimes bodies just don't compress. They aren't meant to.

So... it sucks but you're not alone.

I've found the same people who claim a trans person is making being trans their "whole personality" are the same people who quite literally cannot see past a person's transness - in fact, that's the only thing they will see.

The fact that JKR is a gigantic shill for the UK who had the gall to compare Scottish independence activists to Death Eaters for not wanting to be ruled by a government with a history of bloodthirsty imperialism and colonialism makes the whole “trans rights and Scottish independence” thing even more hysterical. I hope they get independence and I hope she wastes all her time and energy writing another fucking book whining about it.
