Seeking a Portuguese-speaking friendly guide in Quebec!

Hey everyone! A small travel community I’m a part of is looking for a local in Quebec who speaks Portuguese. We have a couple of travelers visiting on September 1st who would love to do a casual walking tour with a local who can speak their language.

This isn't a typical traditional tour with a script. It's more like showing new friends your favorite parts of your city. The hidden gems, best coffee spots, and local stories.

If you or someone you know is a Portuguese speaker in Quebec and is free on that date, please send me a message!

Even if you aren't available on September 1st, we still have other requests coming up, and we're always looking for great people who can do tours in other languages too.

For Canadians, regarding censorship

There's a very important petition going on right now at the house of commons about censorship coming from credit card companies (and other) and what people buy with their own money.

This affects platforms like Steam and Itchio, but also online artists and creators.

Not only that, but it also very much affects queer people and their art, considering how many people see queerness as being exclusively for an adult public. It also affects more vulnerable people in general, since those kind of products are more often than not made by small artists, indie companies, solo teams, etc.

Credit cards and companies banning you from buying adult-themed things are bringing us back. It is important to fight against censorship.

Please sign this petition to encourage a healthy society where we can express ourselves freely through art and buy each other's products without some multi-billionaire companies deciding what we can and can't do. It's legal, they shouldn't have to be able to tell us no.

Canaries in the Coal Mine: If you cheered on censorship of weird art, you’re part of this problem

Unpopular fact that needs to be said now: if you ignored or worse cheered on the constant encroaching censorship of artists and didn’t speak up because it wasn’t the ‘right’ kind of art (your ~pure eroti ca~ art) that was under fire, you’re 100% part of the problem.

The weird ero artists, the hardcore ero artists, the distasteful ero artists, those gross artists have been your canary in the coal mine and y'all decided it was canary season and now… well we may all be in the grave YOU dug but guess what, you’re here too!

Maybe y'all will learn a lesson. Maybe y'all will stop flinging around false accusations for peak woke points and stop censoring art you find icky and artists that don’t peddle only the purest and unproblematicest of smut. Probably not. But a boy can dream can’t he?

The solution always is to speak out against censorship. “But I’m afraid to speak out–” The rest of us who put our necks out and got burned, how do you think we feel? But we speak out against censorship. We defend ‘icky’ art. Because we know the price otherwise.

And if you won’t listen to me because I’m just some queermo who makes weird comics, then maybe you’ll listen to a professional.

Genuinely, do yall just not have imagination?? Or not understand figurative language??? Also eyes do literally darken and soften have you not lived a life??? How do you read with no imagination? Is this how you get through so many books in one month - you simply don’t take the time the understand the words as they are read?
