The other 10% of the time, Neil is still important enough to keep around, and Andrew will deal with his idiocy as long as he has to. 9% of the time he thinks killing Neil might be the one thing he can’t come back from, the one thing it might hurt to lose. 7~8% of the time it feels like falling, and to a man afraid of heights it is a terrible and frightening sensation. The more he falls for Neil the more he hates Neil, because Neil is the one thing in the world that could destroy him, and Andrew isn’t ready for that. He just doesn’t realize yet he’s too late to stop it. insp.

blue sargent //  the raven cycle
“She was going to hell, she had the straight line to spiritual nirvana. Her mother was a hack, her mother was a witch. Blue dressed like a hobo, Blue dressed like a fashion mogul. She was untouchably hilarious, she was a friendless bitch (…) The disheartening and lonesome upshot was that Blue Sargent was the strangest thing in the halls of Mountain View High School.”

Intermezzo by Sally Rooney
«Life, after all, has not slipped free of its netting. There is no such life, slipping free: life is itself the netting, holding people in place, making sense of things. It is not possible to tear away the constraints and simply carry on a senseless existence. People, other people, make it impossible. But without other people, there would be no life at all. Judgement, reproval, disappointment, conflict: these are the means by which people remain connected to one another.»

TOP FIVE BOOKS/SERIES AS VOTED BY MY FOLLOWERS    ↳ #3 all for the game by nora sakovic
all eyes are on you. it’s time to show them what you’re made of. there’s no room for doubt, no room for second guesses, no room for error. this is your night. this is your game. this is your moment. seize it with everything you’ve got. pull out all the stops and lay it all on the line. fight because you don’t know how to die quietly. win because you don’t know how to lose. this king’s ruled long enough—it’s time to tear his castle down.

I was more comfortable with Charles. He was a lot like his sister, impulsive and generous, but more moody; and though he sometimes had long gloomy spells, he was very talkative when not suffering from these. In either mood, I got along with him well.

babel, or the necessity of violence by r. f. kuang
HISTORY isn't a premade tapestry that we've got to suffer, a closed world with no exit. We can form it. Make it. We just have to choose to make it.

“The Iliad”           (Gr: “Iliás”) is an epic poem by the ancient Greek poet Homer, which recounts some of the significant events of the final weeks of the Trojan War and the Greek siege of the city of Troy (which was also known as Ilion, Ilios or Ilium in ancient times).
