New Zealanders celebrating the step down in lockdown by causing traffic jams

At uni, I was asked by the dance club to get a group of the rugby boys to do a full monty bit for their charity fundraiser.

One of our last rehearsals was straight after they finished their pole class. We decided we’d give it a go: cue about 6 rugby guys trying to cling to the pole for more than 5 seconds without flying off into the walls or landing in a crumpled heap.

As we helped clear the area for our practice, one of our choreographers decided to do a 5 minute routine without even breaking a sweat, practically laughing at us throughout the entire thing.

That day we learned the strength of dancers, and that they’ll laugh in your face as they break you. Don’t mess with dance club.

Apparently my director went to see a production of West Side Story a few years ago, and the guy playing Chino forgot his gun before coming out for his final scene. Once it got to the big scene where he is supposed to shoot Tony, he screeched “Poison Boots” and kicked the actor playing Tony until he went down. The girl playing Maria then had to jerk the shoe off of Chino’s foot, and had to do the gunshot scene asking “How many kicks Chino? How many kicks, and one kick left for me”.
