hey....do you know how tempting that post about idiots adding to your post is for me, an idiot?

I am a respectful idiot and will not be giving in to temptation (This Time) but you have dangled the most ripe, succulent fruit within grabbing distance. Others may not be so strong to resist it.

You know what, actually? Thank you for sending this ridiculous ask. Not only did it make me laugh on a day when I needed a laugh, but it also helped me think a little more about why this thing about tumblr annoys me. I’ve realized that it’s actually not even worth acknowledging, let alone being annoyed by it. For some people (I think maybe most people), adding something of their own when they reblog is just adding to the conversation. It’s like if I was in a room with strangers and I said something that I thought was a complete thought, but someone else added to it. There’s no harm in that!

In the particular situation that annoyed me enough to prompt that post, I observed someone using my post to be purposefully obtuse. On principle, I believe that if one is truly confused about a person’s post, they could simply just use the comment feature to ask their question instead of adding their bad faith question to the original post and reblogging. It just seems like common sense to me.

I’ve been trying to assume that this moment at the end of the Deadline Contenders panel was just a bad attempt at a joke by Mark Johnson. But I haven’t been able to let it go. It’s so sinister to even say this as a joke.

In every panel and interview Sam goes out of his way to make sure that the rest of his cast members are included in the recognition. While the executive producer is allowed to be THIS blatantly dismissive at an event where HIS ONE JOB is to promote the show and the people who make the show? It’s fucking disgusting.

Jacob, Assad, Delainey deserve so much better from this network and its leadership. AND JACOB DESERVES THE FUCKING WORLD.

I don’t believe and will not engage in trying to make any of the actors into villains or victims. I just want the network and its leadership to do better.

Anyway, fuck Mark Johnson.
