a corner of his lips curls into a snarl at the other’s greeting. rang hates when others fail to recognize that their presence is unwelcome, especially so when they choose to ignore it. “and...? are you wanting to have a private conversation?” he slowly shakes his head and, similar to a child, a pout appears on his lips shortly after. “i don’t want to and besides... you smell like a thief. you’re making my alcohol taste bad.”

But most of the stuff with the Imoogi wasn’t my fault.” The one thing with the Imoogi he thought of as his fault was Rang giving his life for him. He felt like if he could have come up with another plan, it wouldn’t have happened. He sighs. “I can be clever! I have good ideas. Remember me tricking the Imoogi, making him think he had the tool to kill me and stop me from being reincarnated, but I faked it? That was clever!”

“should’ve been powerful enough to stop him the first time around, before your dead girlfriend got wrapped into the mess.” he shrugs, and of course, doesn’t acknowledge the fact that he was responsible for the imoogi the second time around. but he believed in his brother being powerful enough, if not foolish at times. “you tricking the imoogi wasn’t clever, it was dangerous. you could’ve gotten yourself killed. you managed it anyway, but you were lucky it didn’t happen sooner rather than later.” later, the responsibility was all on rang.

“i hope that you enjoy them! now that we’re talking about it... maybe i’ll try it too, it’s been a while...” dong kyung laughs to herself and attempts to give the other an encouraging smile. “it sounds like things were tough for you back home, i’m sorry to hear about it. and... i guess i can understand why people might ask you those questions, as annoying as they might be. where i’m from, pale skin isn’t so common and bright hair colors are becoming more popular... but mostly idols are the ones brave enough for that.” she pauses, blinking with realization. “i guess it may be rude to ask, though.”

“we’re not going to accept anything else! although... i am flattered, ji na.” she teases and then is left frozen, blinking, at the reveal of something obvious but not what dong kyung was expecting to hear. she hasn’t heard that one before, has she? “ji na... already? after what he put you through? you have to be harder to get than that.” she can’t help but giggle. “sure, sure, whatever you say.”

“it’s probably for the best, especially if you don’t want to be found. plenty of people don’t like social media anyway. it’s good to stay connected with people... if that’s your thing, and you use it wisely.” they shrug and falter as the other continues, a puzzled looking flickering across their face. “i’m sorry, did you say... five hundred years? there’s no way... i mean, i’ve met a ghost professor before so i’ve seen some shit but... is it insensitive to ask if you’re really five hundred years old?”

Quickly, she snapped out of it thinking of what she’d want the other to do to prove their magical abilities. “Can you turn water into wine?” She teased slightly.

“maybe! maybe die, but like... no promises or whatever. i might manage to pull myself together in the nick of time.” the other didn’t need to say anything more, k was enthusiastically nodding and agreeing in a matter of seconds. “sounds like a plan!” she had to stop and think for a second if they were actually capable of turning water into wine, regardless if it was a joke. “i mean... i think... i think that i can? i haven’t tried because, technically, not legal and all but i’d be more concerned getting caught and getting detention when detention is so damn boring...” with their head cocked to the side, a mischievous smile take over her lips. “but there are no teachers here, so i can totally try it!”

“did... did you say dance? with me?” she is certain that she heard correctly, but she couldn’t help but be confused and that much was apparent, in the way that she turns to look for someone else that he might had been asking. a shy smile appears on dong kyung’s lips as she looks back at the stranger. “i’m not much of a dancer... if that matters. if you want to ask someone else who might know what they’re doing.”

the half-fox lifts the bottle to his lips when the sound of another person prompts him to freeze, his eyes slowly opening and his head turning to see a less-than-welcome, but familiar face. rang can’t help but huff, turning away and continuing his drinking for a moment before he speaks. “so we meet again. and what a shame... i was enjoying the peace and quiet until now.”

audrey walked outside the coffee shop, her iced beverage in hand as she took to the sidewalk. she was looking around at her surroundings, not to admire the weather they were having in dc, but instead to find the perfect photo spot. the tables and chairs next to the shop were a classic/over done trope for the morning coffee run. and audrey was anything but basic. instead she walked to the park that wasn’t far off to find a garden she could utilize. after snapping her picture. no garden but the flowers in grass would suffice. she stood and held her phone out to take multiple photos before deciding these were not good enough either. “hey you!” she called to the person walking by. “could you take some pictures of me?” she asked while waving her phone out.  { @hiddenstarters }

a breath of fresh air was exactly what k tanaka needed and although the fresh air and the blue skies were wonderful, the wizard couldn’t help but be more than a little entranced by their phone screens and more importantly, the social media they were scrolling through. they stop in their tracks and lift their head to see someone trying to get their attention, a friendly smile instantly appearing on her lips. “oh, sure! sure! just give me a sec...” she makes sure to secure her own phone into their pocket before approaching to carefully take the other’s phone. “so, like, what are we going for? are we trying to do a candid sort of situation or do you have a signature pose or something?“

She hadn’t been expecting a kiss. She took a second before kissing back. It was so nice to kiss him again. Just how long had it actually been since she’d gotten to kiss him? She decided she didn’t really want to know. “Really? I guess I should try to contact someone, but if you say you haven’t heard from them, maybe I won’t hear from them either.” This whole place worried her. What was going on? But she had Se Ju, and that’s what matters. “What should we do?”

things were complicated no matter how they looked at it, however, there’s some reassurance in knowing that nothing has changed between them. as complicated as their history has been. “you should do that. you might not want to get your hopes up, but it doesn’t hurt to try.” se ju admits with a slow nod of his head. “we can’t get too ahead of ourselves, we’ll have to take this one day at a time.” as for the present moment in time, he can’t help but grin after he takes a second or two to think. “shall we go on a date?”
