What is a True Myth Vampire?
(Bite-sized version at the bottom)
(If you don’t know what a True Myth is, look at the pinned post)
Basically it describes the experience of those who have become vampires through either being bitten or cursed. Although the most common form of vampirism, is through bite, cursing does happen.
Those living with vampirism experience extreme cravings about the consumption of blood. This obsession is something that is addicting and often agonizing.
Vampires lack souls which often makes people think they are inherently evil, vampires like human beings can be both bad and good regardless of missing a soul.
Vampires in the real world don’t inherently have things they have in fiction, such as an allergy to Sun and garlic, but some might have those already, and happen to have it comorbid with vampirism.
Although becoming a vampire does not make you grow fangs or magically be able to turn into bats, those who are vampires experience an obsession with drinking blood. This can lead to violent thoughts, although many vampires learn to manage these and are not more dangerous or violent than others.
My personal experience with Vampirism
As I mentioned in my introduction, I was cursed at two rather then bitten. I was in a bad situation and I thought I was going to die, suddenly I felt this aura come into me, and I lived, but not as I did before. I had become a vampyre, and from that day on I have been one. I don’t really know how it happened, but I’m glad to be here.
Could you make someone else a vampyre?
Most likely, but I do not really wish to inflict my pain on others. I think people hear I am a Vampyre and sometimes auto to “I want to be one too!!!” Or “I want to have a vampire drink from me!!!” But it’s not as fun as it sounds. There’s many negatives as well as positives, for me I became one to survive, although some people very much can become one from requesting a vampire to infect them, I think knowing both the negatives and positives should come first before even considering it as a serious possibility.
“I’m a Vampire and my experience is different!!!”
I think like all things, everyone has a different experience with it, this is mine. Even if you have the same things I do with vampirism, and don’t see yourself under the “True Myth” label, that’s fine, ultimately this is a word that describes my experience, that’s why I coined it with Hudson.

What’s a True Myth ghost?
(Bite-Sized version: scroll down)
(Go check out our pinned post if you don’t know what a True Myth is!!)
Basically, it means someone who died in a “past life” and is currently now in a new body. (Essentially, I possessed this body lol)
Living as a ghost can range from being pretty chill to OH MY GOD PARANORMAL ACTIVITY EVERYWHERE!! Being a ghost is different for every ghost because everyone’s soul is unique in their own way. It just depends on your situation. You can live a perfectly normal life as a ghost or live a OH MY GOD THERES SO MUCH life as a ghost. It just depends.
Ghosts are the literal souls of people who’s bodies have died before, so you’re basically the embodiment of a soul.
Real world ghosts tend to either have a body they take and posses, usually when the child is too young to even really HAVE a soul, or are free roaming without a body. Either way, you see ghosts all the time. It’s pretty much your choice wether or not you have a body. (Though if you’re reading this as a ghost, you mostly likely have a body so please do not leave your body for too long you will NOT get it back)
My Personal Experience as a Ghost
I personally chose to have a body, and that meant I underwent a period of time I call “body shock”. It basically means you completely forget your past life until you remember it. That’s why a lot of bodied ghosts usually have a completely different personality, experiences, and opinions from their past life. Soul ≠ Current traits and experiences. A lot of people tend to have that misconception.
So basically, I was poisoned to death a couple hundred years ago. Whoopsies.
I would say this has affected my life semi-significantly. Sometimes I go out of my body. Sometimes I mix my memories up. Sometimes people get freaked out because I give them some random paranormal experience I didn’t mean to.
How Do I Become a Ghost?
Well, first of all, you don’t want to be a ghost. It’s not that it’s bad, but, like, live your current life dude. I do not promote trying to “become a ghost” in your own will, because it won’t work. The reasons in which you become a ghost after body death can vary and range, for me personally, I still don’t know, as my body shock is wearing off. I was poisoned, however. I know that. I don’t think I’m vengeful.
“IM A GHOST AND MY EXPERIENCE IS DIFFERENT”
Of course it is lol your soul is different from mine and therefore we have different experiences./lh
Not everyone will know they’re a ghost.
Not everyone will have an effect on their life for behind a ghost.
Not everyone will be unaffected.
It’s different for every ghost.

Hello! Welcome to Life Outside Humanity!
What is Life Outside of Humanity about?
This blog is run by both Hudson and Fredrick, we wanted to start this blog because we are both alterhumans, but we aren’t otherkin or transpecies. We noticed a lack of a term for this experience, so we coined one! We consider ourselves True Myths.
What is a “True Myth”?
A true myth is the experience of being a nonhuman creature in every way. (or in Hudson’s case, being a ghost of a human in a different body then his original) Often times this is due to things such as being cursed, getting trapped in a mortals body, and often have symptoms humans don’t have. This can be everything from animalistic behavior during full moons, to being able to speak to ghosts. True Myths do not develop a lot of the more “mythological” parts of these experiences, but we exist and live like this, experiencing life as a nonhuman creature.
Who can be True Myth?
Anyone really can be, it’s something you cannot really choose, but very much can become later on in life, with things like vampirism, you can become one through it being transmitted to you, or being cursed. You aren’t typically born “True Myth” nor is it inherently trauma related. This is not a choice to be True Myth, we just are and exist like this.

I am a Vampire, although I prefer the term Vampyre rather than Vampire. I have been one since I was 2 years old.
I love classic lit especially gothic, theatre, the Victorian Era, and cute vintage toys! Edward Gorey is also my favorite artist, that’s why a picture of Renfield from his play theatre is the profile picture!
