WE MADE IT!!! It was certainly touch'n'go for a minute....😳. We left Northern Michigan at the beginning of October2017, with the PNW as our loose "destination". Not gonna lie, we love chocolate.... but the good stuff. No "slave chocolate" is our goal. We had seen Dick Taylor Chocolate in the past, as it is carried by our favorite coffee sanctuary in Michigan @dripworkscoffee . But honestly, we had not tried their chocolate... So imagine our surprise when we stumbled upon this place purely by accident while passing through Eureka. Needless to say...we sampled every chocolate they make. Update: After getting our first goody bag from the Mercedes Dealer (seals, gaskets, ect), we went and found an appropriate parking lot to do the repairs in. What is "appropriate" you may ask? It is a spot, that in a worst case scenario, we could sleep there. Within about 5 minutes under the van, Kevin discovered a problem that we had somehow missed upon initial inspection... a torn Intercooler hose. We packed up our makeshift workspace and made a slow turbo-less crawl 7 miles back to the Mercedes Dealer. We got both Intercooler hoses, just to be safe. Then, we found this lovely new workspace and we got started. So far we have done the following...new orange seal on the turbo, all 3 seals replaced on the turbo resonator, new gasket on the EGR, and both Intercooler hoses replaced. He also placed an unrelated leaking power steering line. Finished about 9:30p. Test drove it maybe 35 miles. Seems great. "Check Engine" light even cleared....We did another 70 miles the next day (yesterday).... Everything was great...until it wasn't... This time we could hear the turbo get loud with air escaping...and then popped into Limp Mode 😫😤. Sooo, on a side of a dark, curvy, mountain road, in the rain....he removed and reseated the Turbo Resonator. There was evidence that maybe the little green o-ring between the Resonator and the Turbo itself, may not have been seated properly. The correction seemed to help/resolve. After last nights roadside adventure, we made it the 20 mile back to civilization (without LimpMode). More testing needed.
